Time to put push back your progress back for at least two weeks!
Happy new years to everyone!

Instead of making out with some random girl, I'll hit 2011 with a set of push-ups. Coincidentally, it'll be the first resolution I'll ever keep haha.

This was the earliest post I could find by myself in this thread that mentioned my stats.
Weighed in today at 191lbs; I hit 200 just after the summer before cutting down (my school has a PT test in about a week -_- )
Bench: 245x3 Squat: Haven't tested max in a while, but did 225x3 Front Squat, 340x1 Back Squat Deadlift: My pride and joy I hit 425x1 not long ago.
get sum'a dat fitness, yo~

But then again, it also depends on what your goal is. Are you trying to gain some kind of functional strength, or are you trying to be a body builder and primarily going for looks? going for building muscle, not really interested in gaining fast strength.
Sorry, those goals require exactly the same training for novices.
Going for 100kg clean+jerk tomorrow. Got 95 clean and barely failed the jerk last week. I'm pumped.

Got to quote myself. That's my starting stats. My press was like 30, my clean was pretty much the same and my DL was 70.
My highest lifts are now Squat: 120 kg Bench: 72,5 kg DL: 132,5 kg Press: 55 kg Clean: 60 kg.
Feels nice I want to know funkies gains O__O It's funny though, my original goal was weightloss (or fat loss rather) but I've gained like 2 kgs but I'm still thinner than before. Hoping for even more and better results next year! :D

Damn shallow and neo nice gains. And nail it drowsy So proud of all the monsters this thread is producing

What kind of diet is best to gain strength, if I'm not looking to gain too much weight, and what's the consensus on portein powders etc?

High protein (1g/lbs), lower-moderate carb, high fat (avoid vegetable oils, up animal fat/saturated fat intake)
Saturated fat helps promote testosterone production as well so eat up.
Whole milk works well fi you're not allergic

I'm gona rewrite this thread tomorrow or tonight guys so we'll have one for the new year.
|
Congratulations on all the progress guys, really impressive stuff.
I'm so excited for the new year. This past year was plagued with far too many injuries for me, but I still at least made some progress towards the planche/lever holds. Hopefully no injuries next year.

Well congrats everyone. happy new years!
I've been gettin sick. So I haven't worked out since monday :\ Sick for the new years = sucks. Need to get me some Vitamin D. But I do know I made one of my goals that I put on this thread, which was gain weight. I've gained about 40 pounds I believe :D Hell yeah. I don't feel like finding it to figure out the rest.
Anyway, Have fun yall
