I was there last year and it was a blast! We need a Pizza Sponsor! I think we had like 300 pizza's gone in 2 hours last year.
|
If someone pays for me I'll go ><
|
How can one get tickets? and is there an age limit ?
|
Ohhhh man, so excited for this year, last time was great. I wish that I could help but most of the people that I go with are WoW fans. This year should be bigger and better than the last :D

While BlizzCon tickets have a price and go on sale later this year, this party has no entry fee and is open to the community. There is no minimum age, but you will need to be 21 or older to get and consume drinks from the hotel bar.

Lol-- it was crazy. Team Liquid sponsored the first batch of pizzas, but all of the rest was paid for by the donations of people who attended. Thanks again to everyone for their support last year. One of the reasons that we are starting planning earlier this year is to try to keep that from happening again. When you expect 400-500 and get 2000, things get fun...
|
I would love to help out, but getting there is a whole 'nother story ):

Yeah I'm so thankful for that first round of pizza. Was full after, I'm a little guy. And I still cannot believe that the one and only Fruitdealer showed up.
I still can't thank you guys enough for it.

Just as a heads up, Blizzcon 2010 tickets I think were $150 a pop, though if you sell the goody bag on eBay you can probably recoup most of the costs, if not all.

And... if you have extra money you can buy up to 5 per purchase, and then sell the tickets a bit later and make more than twice the cost of the ticket. Probably will do that this year

Probably will do that this year Weren't they 125$? anyways, the goody bags have gotten worse and worse every blizzcon as well as people being able to get the virtual items from buying the official live stream thing. So you can't really bank on this.

Ah I've lurked TL for a while before now and ended up making an account for this thread.
Definitely want to go to Blizzcon this year and a TL meetup would be super awesome. I guess most people from TL probably dont know me at all, but I'm pretty high up on the ladder at League of Legends and I'm really into competitive starcraft (only currently at 1400 masters though).
Well if I end up going to Blizzcon I'd definitely want to attend this event - meeting starcraft pros and people who are passionate about E-sports would be amazing. I guess I'll have to convince TakashiX that it'd be awesome to goto Blizzcon so I'll have a friend to travel with!

I buy 5-10 every year and keep 2. the rest pay for my weekend. U can sell ticks for 3-5x face value if your patient and can sell them for double instantly. Last year i sold 8 tickets paid for the hotel/food for the weekend completely.
|
Don'f forget Gabe Newell was there too I imagine hugging Gabe as hugging a gigantic soft teddy bear.

Oh yeah that's what I plan on doing this year, always thought about doing it, but keep hearing from people who re-sell the tickets and are able to pay for everything. And the goody bags don't have the same value that they used to have with the Direct TV thing now
Excited for this year as always :D
|
Nothing against people who re-sell tickets, but one would think that Blizzard would put into effect measures to prevent such a thing like Comic-Con.
|
ibsen my fine sir i will try my best to attend xD and you still owe me that drink.

Really? Wow! I missed seeing and meeting so many people, because I was running around that whole night. People kept telling me about all the actors, actresses, casters, gamers, developers, and other amazing people who were in attendance. I was busy putting down food riots, extending Fruit Dealer's "he can only stay 15 minutes" into almost two hours, and a plethora of other exciting exercises in creative problem solving.
Please forgive me if I miss listing any attendees from last year. I hope you all can make it back this year and bring lots of friends!
|
I'm going this year, I'm also planning to start stream this year so I could help in that section :D (if I can go of course)
|
See you guys again this year!

Yeah great job with extending Fruit Dealer's attendance it was very surreal to see him in person.

Game Front has posted on the party. Please continue to let me know when other sites report on the party so that we can link to them!

|
|

|
I will be attending this year and was hoping to see a TL.net after party. I will donate money to the food costs - I have no idea how much to donate but I will put in for whatever is needed.
I arrive home from Iraq 5 days before Blizzcon and am so excited for this year.
If there is some sort of sign up or something I will put my name down.

|
Holy crap I haven't seen TAW in years, I was a part of their Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield clan. Ooooooold school :D.
|
I'll be there, and possibly bringing 2 of my not-so-starcraft fans (they're more WoW/Diablo people)! Hope to meet you all and have a lot of fun!
|
So with the release and purchase of Blizzcon tickets, whos gonna be attending this meetup!
|
I'll most likely swing by as well. Last TL party I was at was in Paris after WWI. Let's hope this party will be less... messy.
|
Just got my hands on tickets! Excited to go to my first Blizzcon ever. I'll be sure to stop by the TL meetup!
|
Ill see you guys there! :D

Also if anyone still needs tickets I got some left for anyone on TL at cost. Still the best after party to date :-)

Oh if only i went to it

I will definitely be there!

Who do we want to see casting this year during the party?
The party lasts around 5 or 6 hours. That is plenty of time for everyone to participate individually or in a group setting. Would we want to see a live "State of the Game?" How about a massive ffa on stage?
Given the fact that many players and casters are already planning to attend, the potential here is enormous. There would be some understandable exclusions in that casters hired by Blizzard would be too wiped out to participate (which is why you were amazing for coming Artosis!) as well as players who are not eliminated from contention in the BlizzCon tournament (<3 EffOrt 2 years ago). They might still show up, but it would be unfair to them to expect it.
|
Diggity has posted a follow up thread on Reddit. So far there have been many suggestions and requests. This is an event for the whole community, so we want everyone's input.
|
I plan on attending.
Hope to see you all there!

PM me if you want me to ask him.

Heya, put a message through to ya, Ibsen, but no reply so far. I would love to give some 'General Help' if you guys still need it. Put a PM in to me.

Wait must you be over 21 to enter into the barcraft or just to purchase the drinks from the bar?

All ages to attend. You must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol in the state of California. If you are under 21 come and have a great time.

If you're not having a good time, ask anyone to go grab "Snarfin" or "siist3m" and I'll make sure you are. I've been there.

We are very excited to be at this event. Hope to meet all of you there!

I'm so coming to this lol

I will be there along with 2 of my Blizzcon going friends. We are staying at the Hilton and there is another very large afterparty that happens there on the same night, but Team Liquid gets priority for sure!
EDIT: Saw the donation button, just donated $150. Just doing what I can to not kill eSports!
|
Hey, I was just wondering if one of the organizers could post on the Blizzard Official BlizzCon Forums. This is an event for all BarCrafters and Blizzard fans alike and it would be a great way to grab some more attention. Forum address is here: http://us.battle.net/blizzcon/en/forum/3158122/

This is not a Blizzard sanctioned event. They were the first company that we approached in March (yeah-- we've been planning all year) and they said no.

Thanks! We were only able to partially fund this through corporate sponsorship. The community support is what is going to make a difference in the success of this event.

fun event last year! Hopefully the room is a bit bigger this year though, haha. ^^

We should be good for space. We have more room for attendees than MLG Anaheim did.

I don't understand what it not being a Blizzard sanctioned event has to do with posting it on the BlizzCon forums. There are a bunch of other community events posted on that forum. I don't see how it would be against the rules to post another community event just because it has some corporate sponsorship.
I realize that Blizzard said no to being a sponsor, but this isn't even about Blizzard. It's about growing eSports and having an amazing time at a community sponsored event with other nerd ballers and friends.

Hopefully I can hit this too!
