Players must wear their name tags during the tournament.
There will be NO walk-in sign ups. However, spectators are very much welcome.
Players will check in from 12:00PM to 12:45PM. The tournament starts at 1:00PM and all technical problems should be resolved beforehand.
No spectators are allowed in-game.
Bad manners will not be tolerated.

For a 32man[64man] tour top 10players[21players] will be seeded. Seeding is based off ladder ranking using sc2ranks. Players will be added to the division linked below. + Show Spoiler [Previously] +
Due to ladder lock and season change, seeding will be based off season 2 rankings because there is not enough time in season 3 before the event for rankings to be leveled out where everyone is where they belong. Since ladder will be reset the 19th-20th rankings will be recorded the night of the 18th and that will be used to seed the appropriate players.

This time please have strict time rules! Last tournament I started my first match after 2 pm. After waiting for 2 hours. If we have stricter time and start the first matches on time, I'm sure we could even do a 64 Bo3 double elimination in 1 day.

Another rule, I think, to prevent offensive gg? As in, saying 'gg' first after the 1:00 mark = forfeit?

Automatic forfeit if you don't make it back on time? We'll figure something like that out.
Stop pretending like people BARELY just made it on the roster, as if 80 ppl arent going to sign up and demand that it be extended to a 64-man single elimination tournament......

Just like the back and forth between you and ONESonkie during WCG event? lol
It was all part of my brilliant master plan to "psych out" my opponent. This is a common tactic used by MC against iDrA and highly effective. I am however extremely resistant to BM attacks because of the excessive DOTA I played.

I think I'm supposed to go to Hurricane Harbor that day. Are you guys playing 13 or 16 tile mahjong? And are you doing dinner after? I can try to catch up with you guys sometime later in the day after I get back.
Hehe, I'm guessing that's sarcasm but it's all cool! It's just the title of our Starcraft series so nothing major, plus like dgReborn says, there is a difference of 1 e!

btway: WCG event at Columbus Circle on July 18th. I know it's not a WCG qualifier, but it's still very exciting.
june 18? I can't tell if that is a typing fail or a actual answer fail. I'm gonna assume it was both somehow because I enjoy thinking the worst of people.
I feel so loved. I would shrug if it wasn't going out of style in overuse.
On a side note, being sick and coughing all day in a office is a quick way to be sent back home. Also screw SC2!! LoL having 200k god damn viewers at dreamhack has made me realise thats where the shit is at! Also I could always blame my team when I lose.

Bonus points if you get famous. Because once someone is famous in American media, they STAY famous, for life. Even when their careers are announced as over. Plus, getting famous gives more opportunities for money.

64 and double elimination is entirely possible. TLnet open somehow manages to go through 1024 brackets in similar time we go through 32. Now i am all for laid back atmosphere but when youre leaving 30 people overboard just so the other 32 can feel complete freedom when to play their matches(including some playing other online tournaments in the past) that aint right.

No doubt a 64 man double elim would be awesome to try to squeeze in one day, but it has its complications...
Single elim tournaments just seem so unforgiving and tend to discourage other from attending future events if they find themselves matched with the likes of pokebunny, lgy, yourself or yen in the first round......

I work at a laboratory in Rockleigh, NJ. Nothing really to note there other than the country club, mostly just corporate offices and such.
Welcome to Rockland county. There's the Palisades Mall... and that's about it. Main Street Nyack if you're into bars and clubs and such. I think Pearl River still has bowling lanes, but I haven't gone bowling since I was like 8. Nearby Montvale might still have bowling lanes, not sure about that either cause I heard the Montvale skating rink/arcade got torn down.
Just take a bus down to the city and be done with it. Red and Tan bus lines, 11A/T i think would be your route.
Cool, I'm over at the Crestron buildings on Volvo drive. :D
I went to the mall yesterday with a friend who met me out here for the day on a trip, that mall is huge compared to anything we got in the Northern VA / DC area. o_o Thanks for the info, I'll look into it. :D
Ha, you're down the street from my lab on King Rd. What are you doing there, some kind of internship?
Yeah, I think it's the second largest mall in the United States. There used to be a cybercafe there where I'd play Broodwar and CS, but it went out of business.
You can go either way, the question is whether or not you can play in the tournament, but every time we expand to fit everyone anyways. Don't see why we can't do that with highest seeds getting byes.
Leave it at 32. 64 people won't show up and 64 with double elim is gonna take more than 1 day. The one that I won was 32 double elim and we ended at 10. Trust me sons.

Just stick to one computer and put your gear there so people don't take it. Last Cybercraft was 64 man single elimination and that one pretty much finished on time. I don't see 32 double elimination being that bad as long as we keep on schedule. Btway just needs to crack the whip and get the nerds rolling.

Edit: Also No TvTs plox
That would certainly work, but single elim sucks for whoever get poke first round
edit: misread, a 32 double elim is fine, a 64 single elim takes longer*
I am against 64 man single elim.... single elim tournies suck butt and leave grudges.....
I highly doubt 64 people will show up.... maybe we should have a 64 man double elim (since it will REALLY be a 4_something double elim) and give people bye's accordingly.....

This. We've already had a ton of 64 person tournies, lets at least have a double elim every once in a while.
I don't think 64 man is a good idea. So many people have dropped already, not to mention the countless people who don't show up and never say anything, and last minute drop outs... seems like everyone is more in favor of double elim too.
well at this point i have to agree with 64 man double being pointless. People who are on the waiting list are likely to have made alternative plans already. But i think for 9.0 we ought to go for 64 people double elim and just have deadlines for when each round is to be played..

We tend to have a rough deadline of rounds, and when each one starts to keep it on par, but it's hard to do that when some players 8 pool two games and that series ends in 10 minutes, and another series consists of 2 base turtles every game.
The tournament admins (<3 Cert & Lisa) Have almost tried everything, but it's how each game is played that is the most important factor, which also happens to be uncontrollable. 64 man tournaments are also quite longer, it may not sound like much being it's only one round more than 32, but we don't have 64 computers to cater to each player for personal use throughout the entire tournament.
It kind of flows like this:lets say we have ~40 computers with tournament games being played at once, give or take a few. When they are done, the remaining players have to then wait for those people to unplug their gear, then they have to set up, and change the settings to their liking. After that they usually take another minute to play a practice game with the AI, and then that series gets started. After that, they have to get up, and the losers bracket usually goes, and after that, Ro32 etc etc etc.
It's a lot to handle, and time isn't on our side. 64 man tournaments are a lot more rough.
(Also, I didn't make this just at your post, but a generalization that should be pointed out to people who get upset when they hear it's anything other than 64 man Double Elim, <3 TLNY)
I think people are still under the assumption that 64 people will actually show up...... There wont be 64 competitive people that show up.... I promise....

Personally, I like having 5 places being awarded rather than 3. Thoughts?
Everyone should cheese him. EVERYONE. but rewarding fifth through first place sounds like an incentive for people to come, as they have a larger chance at winning something. How are we doing on sponsors?

Although tbh I think one prize spot is the best overall....
yes, third place should be the only one given cash.

yes, people below diamond league should be the only ones given cash.
Hey guys, sorry to pull a last minute cancellation, but there's pretty much no chance of me making it tomorrow. Had to schedule a job interview and unfortunately ATM employment>Starcraft, atleast for me.
