The left sidebar is now a lot more customizable! You can show / hide entire sections and modify the order that they appear in. In addition to the section customization, you can also choose to show or hide individual forums instead of just collapsing them. TL Mafia fans will be happy to know that there is now an option to show that forum on the sidebar too!
The sidebar customization features are available to all users - even if you aren't registered - by clicking the 'Customize Sidebar' link at the bottom of the sidebar.
Quick note. You need to customise it at least once or you will have no left sidebar. There is some issue with default view (doesnt show anything if you dont click save even if you are using standard sidebar)

They were all most likely in the works for a long time but as they are all parts of the same underlying "problem" (in other words the way the coding of the website was originally done) the work on these things had to be done simulataniously and could most likely not be separated untill the very late stages. Hence they also all finished around the same time.

Me to for a while. Rich botched the default state of sidebar.
Yeah there was a small window where if you were on the site prior to the defaults being set you ended up with no defaults. Should be fine for most people!
I ran into a problem where if I tried to untick "General" from "General", I wouldn't be able to see the TL community, fan clubs or user stream tabs either. Only the title would be present.
Btw, can we hope for better emoticon insert? For instance, if you click an emoticon, smiley code gets typed automatically for you. I think it would save some time.
Hm, how about an option to hide the Featured News and Community News sections from the sidebar? I see all of them on the frontpage anyway, so they're kind of redundant.

Awesome! No more health and fitness, easy access to mafia, win! I think we should have an option for how many of each section to show. Make diablo 3 appear under mafia would be cool too.
Very nice. Now I just have to get over my OCD and stop trying to make both sidebars equally long haha. Removed everything except the SC2 stuff from the left.
Also, kind of a tease to have the News bar even display in the customisation without being able to move it. :p
While this is great, if you unclick every option for one section the titled tab still remains (i.e. ive unselected everything from BW but i still get the tab). Can this be fixed?

Regardless, nice feature
If you want to have a title tab removed, you simply have to drag its block to the right box.
Stop it r1ch. You're improving TL like it's a legitimate organization or something. You're killing e-sports. How can companies continue to not pay their players if you set such a good example. This is beyond ridiculous. We need a doctor in here. I couldn't even spell ridiculous. TL actually spell checked for me. My god. I give you props for that elephant mascot though. Good job on that.
Is this a part of a plan to start "spoiling" things on the TL frontpage again? I suggested making the left sidebar customizable when that whole debate came up, so that people could maybe have a forum as the bookmark, and still avoid spoilers from the sidebar (if they wanted, which it turns out most don't).
Just found the button by complete accident actually, didn't notice the community news thread. Customized TL is pretty sick. Did away with the whole sports & games section for now. (Replays too) Thank you R1CH~

all i read was the first part i can finally stop using damn chrome plugins and put sc2 below sc1! YAY i miss sc2 news, but not enough to put sc1 below it lol.
I can't seem to move the blocks, I only mark their text when I try to drag'n'drop. It doesn't work with firefox, if I switch the tab to Internet Explorer it works (but the setting only stays in IE, so its worthless).
What could be wrong? I disabled greasemonkey-TL-related things already, but that didnt change anything.
Is this possible when I´m using the TL Dark Theme? I tried to hide some things and when I clicked "Save Preferences" suddenly everything was hidden, except the News and I can´t return it to normal.

How can themes be selected? I can't find that option. :/ Thanks.

Search for "TL Dark Theme". There is a Thread which shows you how to change themes.
Next step: to make a function to block people whose opinions I don't wish to see and further hinder the development of my skills of rational discourse. YES.

My problem was actually exactly this one.
Remove the greasemonkey script disable the stylish theme restart firefox set up sidebar-options reinstall greasemonkey-script and enable theme again

Did the job for me.
Forgot to mention that I´m using Opera. But i will try to to set my sidebar when the original theme is up and then change it agian.
I might actually start using the sidebar, crazy right? Brb checking off SC2 Strategy..
Also, this might belong in website feedback but I'm lazy so: it might be a good idea to put them 'last page' buttons for the threads on the sidebar too, if it's aesthetically feasible
the "fan clubs" and the "user streams" sections are subforums of tl community, so it is not possible to have tl community disabled and fan clubs/user streams enabled at the same time.

great new feature though
I noticed this as well, would be great if it could be changed
God damn you TL!!! I have spent too much time browsing this site already... You add dota subforum, and now this... I'm afraid I won't be able to close TL ever... How about you add a parental control feature Like i would force myself to browse only 2 hours a day max, and after 2 hours i would get blocked from the site for the rest of the day? Is that possible? I think many people would like that actually
are great and all, but none of them work for me. i can't drag and drop the side bar items and i can't click on the add to fav stream list button. is there something i'm missing or have disabled? when i went into the side bar customization it auto disabled almost all of the categories, and i can't get them back now because i can't drag and drop. + Show Spoiler +
Finally, now I can get rid of BW and replays, snipe Starcraft 2 Strategy into oblivion, and do nothing but read General and Blogs!
No, I'm not actually getting rid of BW(just going to the bottom, I never play it anymore anyway), but replays are definitely going out the window, along with Starcraft 2 Strategy.
R1CH, is it possible to increase the number of posts that are shown in each category instead of 5? Now that I have so much more real estate available, I'd love to be able to see more posts per category! Thanks!

Close TL and empty your browser cache if a refresh doesn't work.
This is cool and glad TL is making a lot of customisation features.
One question I had would it be possible to make a Custom section that users can create and add forums too for themselves in the side bar. Example using me as a case, my custom would look like below
Sorry for the necro, but I didn't want to start a new thread.
I'm having issues with the "drag and drop" feature of the customization. I didn't have an issue when this first came out, but now I can't seem to change anything. I can't reorder the blocks or move them to active/hidden. I tried both on Chrome and Firefox.

I'm having this problem right now, attempted to change my sidebar settings, but then everything went to hidden and I can't seem to select anything, as the boxes only get highlights.
