Hot on the heels of NYC Winter Arena, we've begun the planning for MLG's Winter Championship!
Expect the same level of awesome, hopefully with some improvements, stream wise. (Gogo tech-man-Ben!).
When: March 25th, 11AM - likely 8ish? Where: Ceili's Southland Why: We love SC2 and an excuse to drink, obviously. :D
If you happen to be one of the unlucky people that have NEVER been to a BarCraft before, prepare to be awe-struck. On every single TV and the giant projector screen at the back we will be streaming professional, live Starcraft 2 matches. Ceili's boasts a fine staff of super nice servers, attentive bartenders and a wicked management team. At the door we will be trying our best to hand every single person a ticket to enter the raffle for door prizes! Those will be announced when I have them in my hands.
Food Specials! $5 dollar menu which includes: Mutalisk Wings Roasted Hydralisk Ribs Pulled Ultra Sliders Deep Fried Infestor Rings
We will once again be welcoming The Node and their fantastic computers, two to play on and two that will be dedicated to the sole use of a King of the Hill! That's right, lovelies, we'll be holding another King of the Hill (though probably slightly re-worked), hosted by BloodyIron of LANified!, complete with prizing and the like. More details on the KotH will be announced as things move along and we finalize details.
UPDATE! For those of you wanting to enter the King of the Hill...
We'll only be running it until 3PM. If you'd like to enter, get there early enough to sign up and play before then!
For the KotH we're giving away a bunch of Node stuff! In addition to that, first place in the after-koth tourny will have a choice between a Razer Banshee headset or a season long GSL pass!
Regarding door prizes...
We'll have a place set up to sign up for the raffle - this time around we'll have things for you to fill in.
Up for grabs:
- Razer Marauder keyboard - Razer Spectre mouse - GSL season pass - a bunch of other stuff. <3
/Update
Just for the record, iSNoctis has won the after-tournament TWICE in a row. I don't know about you, but a protoss being the reigning champion doesn't sit well with me. More people must enter! This is one of the things that we're reworking, though, so stay tuned!
I'm in San Diego until the 24th, technically the 25th, I get into Calgary at like 1230am on this day so I might be a bit late. Save me a spot by the bar! :D
Good news everybody! The good people at Memory Express have provided us with a Razer Spectre mouse, Razer Marauder keyboard, and a Razer Banshee headset for the raffle and King of the Hill! :D :D
We are also working with them to try and give our attendees discounts at Memory Express on computer parts and accessories. We will keep you updated once we have more information. <3
More like great people. I've been doing business with Memory Express since they were way small (a hole in the wall) and they have always been the best. Their prices reeled me in, their service kept me.

I have talked to the organizers and they're cool with us putting together a Calgary Barcraft team to compete in this tournament. Basically the tournament works like GSTL or NASTL where we have a team of 4-20 players, we compete in bo5 or bo7 matches against another team by choosing players to face off against the other team in successive 1v1s. The winner of a game stays in to face the next opponent from the other team.
If you're interested in being on the team, let me know here and please sign up on z33k.com. I will invite you to the Calgary Barcraft team and we can go from there.
We have a lot of local talent, so I hope there's an interest in this! Depending on how it goes I may try to arrange a battle of the barcrafts tournament against other barcrafts for next MLG.

I LOVE you guys. I can't wait to go :D My first experience with alcohol spent at a LAN. epic
EDIT:
I also forgot to mention that there are also 2 GSL season passes up for grabs.
LANified! will be (as previously mentioned) again running the fantastic King of the Hill people have clearly come to love. It's really quite great that you guys like it, and we appreciate it. So here's what we're doing for tomorrow.
Tomorrow's tournament will be broken up into two stages.
First Stage:
11am (ish) - 3pm
For this stage we will be running our King of the Hill format. When setting the King, LANified! arbitrarily picks the map. Once a King is set the challenger picks the map. The maps that are allowed are either current ladder maps or maps made by major competitive groups, MLG/IPL/GSL/ICCUP/etc. No blatantly imbalanced maps to be picked like Steppes of War.
1 Win in a row - Pocky 2 Wins in a row - The NODE membership (or 10hrs at The NODE if you already have a membership) 3 Wins in a row - The NODE Party Pass, Entrance into the Second Stage and a swift kick off the hill
In this stage only two systems will be used for the King of the Hill. The others will be available for free play.
Second Stage:
3pm - completion
We will be taking the delicious entrants who made it to 3 Wins in a row in the First Stage and pumping them into a Single Elimination bracket with each match being a bo3 series. The first map in a match between two players will be determined by LANified! and the following maps in that match will be picked by the loser of the previous game in that match. The map list will have the same limitations of the First Stage.
In this stage all systems will be used.
-First place gets pick between a a Razer Banshee headset or a season long GSL pass! -Second place gets the scraps, depending on which First Place picks.
LANified! would also like to take this time to remind you that we run WEEKLY King of the Hill events that we braodcast LIVE! Lately we've been getting incredibly fierce competition, so if you want to see some great games, check out our TL thread and tune in, there's even prizing!
