I can´t move the section blocks, the cross appears when hovering over a block but I can´t click it or it is like a normal cursor and it marks the text. Didn´t want to make a new thread in feedback about it, perhaps somebody can tell me if I do something wrong or a small error accured.

Currently I've seen few ratings for the views/comments I have in blogs, which are a much better indicator of quality. It creates an unfavourable post-to-reward ratio too, for example If someone makes their first blog and gets a single 5 star rating that's a 5 star average over all their work, currently a 5 star rating would be a +0.046 in my average (with favourable rounding). Also of course since this works on average across blogs it's not featured blogs but featured users who make blogs, which I suppose is what you are going for highlight notable forum personalities. It is a good idea, just from the perspective of someone who works with ratings the way you are featuring things seems sub-optimal. To the best of my understand only the initial set of featured blogs were picked based off of ratings. Future additions won't necessarily be based off of rating.

Clicking 'Featured Blogs' takes you to the list, which is based on ratings, while the sidebar lists recent blogs of high-rated users. I'll be favouring the curated Spotlight, as long as it still covers blogs, to provide the more interesting recent blogs. Edit: that sounds more negative than it should, rather I'm more interested in interesting blogs of the moment than featured users.

The Featured Blogs list does indeed take you to a list, which is sorted by ratings rather than defined by ratings. Blogs are manually added to the featured blogs list and the initial set of blogs were based on the top rated blogs at the time (and were then processed).

I look forward to seeing improvements, in its current state sorting by ratings will effectively define blogs by rating, people rarely look at the second page of results. As I say implicit feedback such as views and comments is usually more telling of interest, and should be considered when you make changes

I recommend this for TL, because then you won't have to put up with the rest of us ordinary people, and also we will be free from being rated/judged/overly moderated. It's called the Broodwar section. On a more serious note, I'd suggest you post this on Website Feedback if you so wish. .

I really dislike it, I think it's an unecessary step in the "upvote direction". Plus it starts to make the left sidebar way too long (and I have a lot of hidden sections). That being said, I can work around this which is pretty nice. Myself from the Website Fedback now closed thread. Just wanted to ask if it'd be possible to customize blogs in the "customize sidebar" options ?

But on the actual system though, I think i'd like it if the Blogs that are listed in the featured section, are also not listed in the normal section. Like NonY's most recent blog, it's in the featured and the non-featured section, which seems unnecessary, as it could potentially also take away space from normal blogs that would want to be "promoted" by being listed in the most recent section. Maybe this concern has already been answered and I just missed something :o

Wait what, haji blogs are legitimately pretty good. It takes a few to get used to his writing style (otherwise it just reads as random verbiage), but they are very different from the rest and well-worth the read. Need to step up my game and crank out more blogs!

Automatically feature top 100 blogs by rankings : D! Should your blog score go down, blam, back to the regular ladder with ye!

As far as I am concerned, I only ever use the left sidebar to navigate the site, so as much as possible should be put there .

I'm sure it wouldn't be insanely huge problem, but what would stop someone trying to make top 100 from going through the top 100 bloggers and 1-starring all their posts to rank them down? I agree it's redundant to have featured blogs also appear in the regular blogs section though.

I agree it's redundant to have featured blogs also appear in the regular blogs section though. While my post was written mostly tongue-in-cheek (we're not planning to take the blog ladder by storm with SirJolt at all, pssh), you raise a valid point Most blogs in the top100 though, apart from a select few, have enough ratings to not be phased or influenced at all by random 1-voters (who are the bane of every system with hit&run voting capabilities). Then again, that could possibly weed out those one-hit bloggers (which necessarily isn't a problem) and their low amount of entries/reputation/fanbase. Hmm Food for thought for the inception of the TL Grandmaster Blog League though

I am not that concerned, but I think that the star ratings are far too open to trolls. =) Overall, I like the section and think it is a great idea. Thanks guys!

However, reading through the featured ones right now, I have the feeling that some ended up there because the blogger is a big name rather than the blog actually being very good. What I liked with the front page feature is that a first poster has as big of a chance to get there as a 15k posts veteran, as long as the content is the same. Maybe it's just at startup that it is like this. Just hoping the featured blogs wont be an internal club for the veterans only.
