Hmm are you talking about the games or the meet up at a pub after ? You probably won't be able to see the games live if you don't have a ticket.
As for the meet up you are welcome to join, it's likely to start at around 11~11:30pm at Shanghai Brewery on Hengshan lu.

I got a ticket through TL . As for the 7:30 thing, I was talking about the thurs/fri thing monk. was talking about.
And as for the actual event, I probably will not arrive until around 12:30, due to prior obligations .
I'll leave my email for logistics.

This sucks. I am in Nanjing but I have to work on the weekend ( English Teacher ). I am closer to this event than I'll ever be but I can't attend. FML.

Hey Sparks, have you booked the place on Saturday yet?

The Shanghai Brewery is quite far away, perhaps the Camel Sports bar might be better, but I am just throwing that out there because maybe taking a taxi might cost 50-70 kuai if you want to return to your hotel after...

You've looked up the wrong one. We're going to the one on Hengshan lu, not the one on Hongmei lu.

Well that is a superb location and I wholeheartedly agree to it.

The World Expo Mart was indeed originally African Pavilion back in World Expo 2010, any decent taxi driver knows that name better actually.

oh yeah, I forgot to ask. What's the weather like in Shanghai atm.. Cause here in Beijing it's freezing.

This is kinda cold but this is okay because it is quite sunny! Between 8 and 14 degrees (Celcius) I would say.

Anyone in Shanghai who wants to go today, 15 of Nov, to the Oriental Pearl Tower or JinMao skyscraper at 8pm and get drunk afterwards should call or sms me at 131 6275 2316 or skype angry_firebat. And ASAP please.

Wow, I love the timing of this event for Australians. It's over the week and starts at 1PM and finished at 12AM.
Basically means I get to sleep and do stuff in the morning then starcraft for the rest of the day xD

Ok, someone needs to take action(not me!) All the players and some press are staying at the Pullman Skyway. Currently our best bet to hang out his Friday night as we'll probably be busy all other times. Someone organize something for then?

Originally this thread was made so we could meet up this week end and watch WCS games together, and it also let me help a few people in need of tickets.
I don't mind helping you to organize something, and helping you to find nice places for Friday night, but I won't be able to join.
I know that sparks_im is always willing to go out and he sounds a nice guy. Idiomonkey too. Just PM them your number

Hi monk.
Hopefully everybody is checking in on this thread. If you guys are really looking for somewhere to go tonight, you might consider Xintiandi, it's relatively close to Pullman Skyway and is a place a lot of expats and foreigners go to. I will PM you my number so that we can contact each other if I'm able to make it (I still have to work and won't be within the area till about 6-7 probably). The area itself has quite a few bars and lounges where we can grab drinks and chill out. There is a Starbucks that everybody can meet at. As for monetary issues, mixed drinks can range from 40-70 RMB, so bring a decent amount of money.
Hopefully I can make it!

If you're going around there, you can find cheap and good restaurants in the shopping mall called 日月光, 150 meters to the North of the Pullman. And you can visit Taikang lu (some sort of artish lanes with art galleries, souvenirs shops, bars, restaurants, looks pretty good at night), it's like 100m further to the North, Google map it if you don't speak Chinese.

The event is Saturday 10AM-9PM and Sunday 9:30AM-award ceremony, which starts at 8PM. Just checking to be sure, the meetup is for Saturday night, not Sunday night after the full completion of the event? I understand many people will have work Monday morning.
I just got into Shanghai this morning and I'd be happy to chill tonight. 2ezy's plane ought to be arriving today as well. Monk I'll PM you my number.

Yes the party is on Saturday night. We haven't been able to book a table because they're super busy and don't wanna take the risk to waste 20+ seats. They asked me to ring them again at around 10pm on Saturday to confirm we're coming and they'll try their best to get some seats.
I don't even have Monk's number, but I got 2ezy's.

I was originally planning on coming but had a change of plans and called it off, however it seems I might be in Shanghai this weekend after all. I'm not sure what kind of time I'll have but if possible I'd like to get in on the meetup too. Since it's Saturday night, I should be able to make it if I can get a train ticket this evening. However I'll probably stick around in Shanghai for the rest of the week as well if anything else is going on.
It seems at this point it's too late to get any tickets, but if anyone does know of a way to get a couple of tickets, I would most likely be interested.
