Hearthstone We have noticed that there’s quite a growing Hearthstone community here on TL, and saw that a lot of people tuned in to watch the HS Invitational at Blizzcon. With the game “soon” to enter open beta, and there having already been a few competitions with cash prizes, and even more are popping up each week it seems, it looks like the game has the beginnings of a healthy competitive scene. And that’s the kind of game Liquipedia is a perfect fit for covering and we’ve decided that we want to make a wiki for Hearthstone.
However a wiki needs contributors, so we’re curious: how many of you would be interested in helping us out making the best HS wiki out there?
For the HS wiki, our initial plan is to cover all of the game mechanics with cards, definitions, abilities, etc., and also track the competitive scene with tournament pages, player pages, and eventual team pages. We know that that’s quite a large amount of content but many hands make light work!
Heroes of the Storm Heroes of the Storm gained some interested during Blizzcon and we are wondering if there’s any people in the community who would like to help set up a wiki for it?
Liquipedia is probably most known and renowned for our coverage of the competitive scenes in the three games we currently cover. While it’s still unclear if Heroes will have a competitive scene, we would like to be on top of this from the beginning. There seems to be a healthy interest in the game in our community and we're looking for people that would like to help out with developing our wiki.
The initial content we’d add would be things like hero pages, their upgrade paths and the different game modes. The amount of information publicly available at this stage is not that huge, which means the workload would be quite small and the group of people needed to actually set up a wiki would be equally small. We can assume that the game will grow with more game modes and potentially more heroes after release, but to have the basics already in place will help a lot for when that happens.
I want to help Great! Editing a wiki is actually really simple. Most text formatting can be done with the toolbar above the editing window. There are a few templates you might want to use but they’re pretty straight forward too. And when you do want help with anything we already have a pretty big and friendly community of editors who would be glad to help you with anything wiki-related.
To start, just post in this thread and let me know for what game you’re interested in helping out. I will then contact you individually and probably give you access to the Liquipedia Contributor forum where we can coordinate and discuss the project(s).

The problem is that so speak so bad english that I can't write almost nothing :D

I do not have the time myself to contribute to these games but I'm looking forward to see the end result of this! To contribute is really awesome in itself and I thank everyone in advance who will be the ones working on it! Good luck! <3

I get the interest in a hearthstone wiki, it seems to be taking off nicely. But Heroes of the Storm - with the dearth of information out there, this seems like premature fanboyism for Blizzard.

Get me a beta key for these games and I will be your slave 'till the end of time Salle, for editing LP or whatever else.

Willing to help out with Heroes of the Storm or anything that Liquid requires assistance in

Would be interested in contributing to the hearthstone wiki, tournaments specifically.

Times a bit short... But I'm willing to contribute to Hearthstone wiki. You all have created and written up so much stuff I love to read and learn from. I've always wanted a way to give a helping hand and this seems a way I actually have enough time for.

Yay hearthstone I can help.....maybe-ish?

Cause we probably will hand out some keys to people who make good contributions to the hearthstone. (And Heroes if we can get our hands on some keys for it)

I fully agree, no sense in making a HotS wiki when nobody can even play the game, and it might never pick up a strong competitive scene. I thought liquipedia was more about competitive gaming than anything else, and from what I heard of HotS it seams pretty much lacking as a competitive game, its more of a casual play with friends for fun type of game. Plus there are tons of competitive games not covered by liquipedia and so it pretty much smells like they are just puting it there becouse Blizzard made it. Might as well make a WoW wiki while your at it.
As for HearthStone its seams like the people that have access to it are enjoying it quite a lot and the game is competitive by nature (just like the game that inspired it, Magic the Gathering). I play MtG for some 18 years already, and would love to try out HS, and could possibily contribute to the wiki, but I have no idea when I gonna get a key, if ever. Maybe I will only get to play it once its released for the general public.

I'd be more than happy to help out with the Hearthstone wiki, in particular the game mechanics/definitions/abilities since I don't follow the tournament scene as much but I do play a huge amount of arena (so I'm quite clued in on eg. specific interactions between mechanics).

I would help in both games, I would write nights long only for the sake of the games, but I don´t have a beta key for HS. And in edition I don´t even know how to program, so I guess I´m not needed here^^ Fell free to PM if you need any help, really any help

I would love to help with the hearthstone wiki. Need to pay back the TL community some way for all my lurking over the years.

I mean they could be looking at VODs/information from the first version of the beta and putting wrong information on the wiki... :o

I tried to do some for Dota 2 a couple of months ago before I got busy, but now I have more downtime. I'd like either Hearthstone or Heroes of the Storm. Leaning more towards Hearthstone, however as I'm more a fan of tcg/ccg.

While I agree that it seems like it won't be a competitive title, Liquipedia is a games wiki for the TL community. We're asking this now since it's the beginning of the game if there's interest. So it's not set in stone, but I really fail to see how adding this wiki would detract from the other ones. What we've seen from both adding SC2 and Dota 2 wikis is that new contributors, new ideas, and new formats drives new innovative solutions that can then be used on the other wikis. And since the wikis share so much in common it's usually easy to apply a new template or format over to the others as well.

I could definitely help with Hearthstone. Can't say I'm that good at the game, but if you need a body filling in card text, I'm ready and willing.

Hello. Been a long, long time lurker since my original account was lost in the mist of time (three years ago to be exact) and I've never made a new account simply because I thought there was nothing useful for me to say or to contribute. But this time all the hours I've put into my friend's Hearthstone-account could actually pay off :D
So, simply put, I have a degree in English language so I think the quality of content I can produce is adequate and I would definitely like to work on the Hearthstone-side of the wiki. I would also like to help to modernize the build orders in the SC2-section but that's another story.

Yes, you don't need to be in the game for all types of editing that we need on the wiki. Obviously the more basic card stuff you can leave to people who do have a key. But there's a lot of other things besides that that needs to be done. A good overview page for the game in general. Information about the different gamemodes, definitions of common terms, making lists of all the cards with a certain ability, etc etc etc.
