My advice would be to hold/use them IRL and not order online before then. To that point it might be hard to find a Zowie in a store, but I would try if you're interested. I've gone through 4/5 mice that are highly recommended online but didn't end up working for me ergonomically.

I have average sized hands and prefer smaller mouses, but not too small.. Does Razer make any small mouses that would be good for starcraft 2 ? What about Razer Krait 4g??

The Abyssus is fairly small, or you could go for the Orochi (which is supposed to be a travel size mouse). I have an Orochi that I use with my laptop sometimes and it's great. And I have pretty big hands too so it should suit you better.

If you're willing to go away from Razer, try the Logitech G302 or Zowie MiCO (might be kind of hard to find these days for a good price).

I don't know why people hate on Razer, to be honest It's just because the majority of their mice don't have great sensors and their flagship products (deathadder, abyssus etc) have reliability issues, with some working fine for many years but a very high amount relative to some other brands of manufacturing defects

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour with their razer mouse? Perhaps it's just an unlucky hardware fault, perhaps it's the way I click, don't know. Wanted to mention it.

That's one of the manufacturing defects i mentioned above, you have to get a new one somehow if that happens (warranty or just cash out of pocket) some just work fine for like 6 years, but a lot develop that quite early

I'll look into getting a replacement under warranty, though I'm not overly sure how the whole 'yeah it works, but it doesn't work' angle will go down. I have a feeling it wont be under warranty though. Which would be terrible, as I'd just have to wonder around various hardware sites looking for a good replacement, for my Christmas present to myself for being totally awesome this year!! And oooh, ihn't the music Dreamhack is playing in the finals just BANGING!! ))

If you have any soldering experience it's relatively easy to replace with a switch from an old mouse (I've fixed two DA that had similar issues).

Never understood why some people get the idea that because you have small hands, you need a small mouse. I do not have small hands and my 3.5g is very difficult to move compared to my xornet/g402, while the shape of both of those allow for effective control with fingertip (with or without base of palm contact point for claw), using a deathadder at 600-800dpi was just slow and difficult by comparison. It still feels pretty palm-or-nothing for me because of the shape, weight distribution, grip materials (or lack of them) etc

Other potential options could be the zowie mico, or logitechs g100s and g302. G100S is an amazing mouse. Best sensor out of the 4 mice on my desk (Razer mamba, MX1000 and death adder). I have bought three of them (one for my Surface, one for work and one for my desktop). Love that mouse.

Never understood why some people get the idea that because you have small hands, you need a small mouse. Now you mention it, I'm inclined to agree. I guess for me there seems to be a theme in many mouse reviews, you know, how they may mention this is a large mouse, perhaps not best suited to small hand, etc. You're correct though. ps. Ditched the razer, warranty-schmorenty. Steelseries Rival winging its way to me. Good reviews, isn't one of those ambidextrous ones, fair price point. Anyhoo can't be as irritating as double-click-deathadder.
