This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |

Another alternative for getting your post count up is joining the TL Mafia sub forum, probably 800+ of my 1000 posts are from playing games there, theres a lot of posting involved. ^_^
Other than that LR threads are the way to go if you want to inflate your post count.
EDIT: @the person above me http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=209314 is an example of a lr thread, just click any thread under SC2 Tourney while the relevant event is ongoing and you are most likely to get a LR thread

okay Did the ban format just changed? Or was it done manually by Kwark Looks manual. Apparently, Buddhist went ahead and started complaining about the moderation on TL, creating a pretty elaborate thread for it, which got his ban extended. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=209238I guess some people are way too impatient... And congrats on 300 pages of this most excellent thread. Urg, people like buddhist make me vomit. Seeing that he has 500+ posts, I assume that he is a long-time follower of TL and BW. But, looking at his post history: Only SC2 posts. How can you make so many posts in only one year? I have been here for longer than a year, and look at my post count. And I visit TL everyday, it's like my online home. And a questions to the mods: (was asked earlier) What are you gonna do with the many people hitting the "Report button milestone" this year. Any restrictions in progress? Because at this rate, you have to expect 1k reports a day the following months. Pls don't take away my shiny report button, I have discovered this tool only a month ago, and now it is my favourite thing on the internet. I registered (this account) October 23rd, 2009. 1.5 years for 3400 posts, works out to 2266 posts per year. LR threads make this easy. I joined exactly 2 weeks before you did and have less than a quarter of your posts. I would actually like to see a graph of my posts over time. I think I made less than 10 posts in the first year and then slowly that number climbed when I joined LR threads. It comes and goes though, sometimes I go for quite a bit without posting and other times I make a lot of posts (for me) in a short period of time.
My request for trying to figure out posts/time is real, though. Anybody have any idea how I can do that? Also I want to know where these posts are. I think a good fraction of them are in this thread...
Edit: To answer the question:

Ohh, the LR threads. But still, he has 500 posts. After 500 posts, you shouldn't get banned... And were are these famous LR threads? I never seem to find them, despite seeing half of all bans coming from the LR's. You got a link to an active LR for me? In case you didn't know, LR stands for Live Report(ing). So LR thread is just any thread of an active match. For instance, a few hours ago was GSL WC Ro4 with its own LR thread in the SC2 Tourneys section.

No, really, how'd you do that? I guess you parsed my posts somehow, can I have that data?

I have no idea how it works. its a link I found somewhere on TL, it does it automatically for every user who clicks on it, its really nifty so I kept the link in my "TL" bookmark folder

Post count should have nothing to do with bans. Most of those 500+ posts were most likely garbage. Just because you can spam your way to 500 posts means you can't get banned? I don't think so...

I think you are misunderstanding, what blubbdavid means is that after 500 posts you should know better and not get yourself banned, at least thats what I understood.

Got ya...
You're right if you've racked up 500+ post you should know how not to get banned.

i respectfully disagree... you can easily get perma banned after 500

I never seem to find them, despite seeing half of all bans coming from the LR's. You got a link to an active LR for me? Btw, tofucake, you stand out positively amongst the TL members. But maybe it's as well your unforgettable name. So much flattery for today. The most extreme LR thread I can think of (recently) is easily MLG Dallas 2011 Day 3 LR thread (here). The majority of posts and views are from just Sunday alone. The thread is something like 55 hours old right now. It currently has 18,641 replies and 1,860,159 views. It is entirely conceivable that someone could get 500 posts in one day (without getting banned) in such a thread, although I do not think this is likely.
There are also members who are awesome at LR threads (like MoonBear, who is a LR Hero).
Looking at my post graph, It shows me with 200 posts on Sunday. Not sure how accurate that is, but there you have it.

Do you need to be a fast typist in order to get that many posts in a single LR thread? I find it very difficult to get so many posts out in so short a timespan. Maybe I should spread my wings and fly to that cloudy platform in the sky where great posters congregate and post in LR threads. But maybe I might fly too close to the sun and, like Icarus, fall to my untimely demise. Luckily I can swim though. I don't think that would help in the middle of the ocean. These were metaphors for being temp banned and permed.

I also wonder with great anticipation what ModerateTemperature's main account's 20,000th post's thread's title will be.

Yes but neither MLG's streamer nor an internet browser are Blizzard clients, so it doesn't matter.
