I just decided to try to download the Idra vs XiaOzI torrent instead of watching it on youtube, and as soon as I get the torrent added to uTorrent I immediately know how many games that are being played in the series. When set 4 and 5 is listed at 10kb I know there won't be any games in them and now the series is sadly spoiled.
I won't download anymore of the TSL torrents because of this since I can control this spoiler part on the Nevake youtube channel pretty easily, but theres still a spoiler there as well. If the series only have 4 games there are only 4 games up on youtube.
Nukethestars had a smart solution for this as he uploaded some blank games as anti-spoilers so it wouldn't be possible to tell how many sets there was in a series, and I really hope this can be implemented on the Nevake channel as well. With torrents this isn't quite as easy as I'm guessing not everyone will want to download unneccesary data to keep the spoilers away. My best suggestion here would be to add a random pro game of starcraft to the unused sets so that the people atleast will get some Starcraft for their bandwidth.
Other than that I want to thank you for making TSL happening, it's been great watching it so far and I will continue watching every game in this awesome tournament. I also feel I should thank Nukethestars for his brilliant casting of OSL since I haven't done that anywhere yet.

Click on the .torrent link -> cover your eyes -> press enter after a few seconds when it shows the torrent content -> now you may look again
|
Just hide the size tab on the torrent before you download the file.
|
|
I'm pretty sure you can set your torrent program to hide file sizes...
|
teamliquid can use boxer's games as spoiler videos.

A better solution, that I've seen used a couple times, is to have a folder structure like this :
// = folder - = video
// Set 1 ||-Game 1 ||//Set 2 ||||-Game 2 ||||// Set 3 ||||||-Game 3 ||||||// Set 4 ||||||||(empty folder) |||||||||//Set 5 ||||||||||(empty folder)
This would be an example of a 3-0 series. It's a simple way to ensure that you do not see the next game unless you open the next folder.
Edit: Doh, indents not working properly.
I'll explain in words then :
All you see when you download the torrent is the folder called Set 1. Inside the folder Set 1 is the Set 1 game and the folder called Set 2. Inside the folder Set 2 is the Set 2 game and the folder called Set 3. Then it goes on and on.
This way you won't need to upload dummy games and saves everyone bandwith and time.

The simple solutions often work the best. This is what I do pretty much ^^

ruXxars solution was pretty clever and I hope TL.net implements something like this in the torrents. Nukes solution to spoilers works perfectly on youtube, and I really hope that his will be considered.
Edit: I see this got moved to the TSL forum, I hope these anti-spoilers will get implemented on any vod from TL.net, and not just TSL Vods. It shouldn't be much more of an effort for you great people who are providing us with Vods, and we'll get rid of spoilers in both the torrents and on the youtube channel.

For youtube I think small vods thread / spoiler free VODs on live report threads are entirely viable.

Check out this guide.
Also, ever seen the SVT? http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=50875
There is only so much we can do to prevent spoilers. Uploading 10 VODs a day to Youtube is enough work as it is I am certainly not going to upload fake games.
EDIT: Let me make this more clear: Uploading fake games on Youtube would be a terrible idea anyway. It would totally screw with people who search for VODs on Youtube. If I started cluttering the channel with fakes the whole value of the channel as a VOD archive would be gone. Not going to happen.

Noah, like is pointed out in mijellin's link you can set utorrent (which you already said you use! and which coincidentally is also the best torrent client for Windows anyway, not sure about other OS) to download the data of a started torrent to a specified folder without showing the window that has folder sizes...
As for all VODs on the tracker that are not TL made content (i.e. all the OSL/MSL/PL/WL/... VODs), we simply cannot change the files inside a torrent, because we don't create the torrents ourselves in the first place. Those are YaoYuan torrents, we just (automatically, at least I hope it works automatically atm, for zatic's sake ) add our tracker url to the *.torrent and upload it here.
Zatic already covered Youtube, so there's nothing left to say about it.

What I do on youtube is scroll up to the next vod at a slow pace so I can click it without seeing if there is another video above it.
|
I use Vuze, even though it annoys me so much more than when it was Azureus, whatever, but I didn't get spoiled at all, and didn't have to do anything special.

Yeah just turn off the size tab in your torrent client, every decent client has this option. Or just set it to auto-add the torrent instead of asking you. ruXxar's solution is no better since again as soon as you see games 4 and 5 are 10kb you know it's spoiled. Or even the overall torrent size could be a spoiler. I don't think its worth wasting bandwidth by adding fake games.

LOL.
This thread turned from a completely whiney and typical complaint (so many cry about spoilers even though there is 50 ways to avoid them easily, they are just lazy) into one that made me choke on my cereal.
Well played.

Just a minor thing, nothing I can't work around myself, but I recently got semi-spoiled by the overall torrentsize that is written at the VODs page under each torrent link. Don't think it really needs to be there? :O As I said, just a minor thing.. There's always SVT if you wanna be super safe anyway! n_n;

For the youtube links.. since I'm near sighted, what I do is take off my glasses and click to get the Youtube video fullscreen. That way, I don't see the playtimes and what not.
