Also, I wonder how many top players from NA were playing in the EU tournaments and vice versa? Lot more EU players qualifying than NA - I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of one-way-ness in that aspect (as in, more EU players attempting the NA tournaments than NA players attempting the EU tournaments.)

Definitely deserves some recognition for that, poor guy. Poor guy. Originally looking at the point distribution I thought that coming in second wasn't as important but apparently its almost mandatory (and once you get 2nd you have a ridiculously good chance at qualifying). Im not sure if thats really a bad thing though but it really sucks for those consistent people that tried every single time to be beat out by someone who tried once and made it. Should be a great TSL though

In the final 3 rounds of one of them he played Sjow who beat Qxc and then lalush in finals who beat Liquid`Tyler earlier. It really aws not just another $100 cup, plenty of strong players, maybe not quite as strong, still to win 2 500 player tournaments is beastly.

Some more stats for the interested (an expansion of those already mentioned in the OP) Continental distribution: EU: 16 players (1 seed; 3 invites; 6 win qualifiers; 6 point qualifiers) NA: 6 players (1 seed; 2 invites; 2 win qualifiers; 1 point qualifier) KR/SEA: 9 players (1 seed, 8 invites; 0 win qualifiers; 0 point qualifiers) EU/NA obviously have one possible point qualifier pending. Racial distribution: : 1 (0 seeds, 0 invites; 0 win qualifiers; 1 point qualifier) : 9 (2 seeds; 5 invites; 0 win qualifiers; 2 point qualifiers) : 11 (0 seeds, 5 invites; 3 win qualifiers; 3 point qualifiers) : 11 (1 seed, 3 invites; 5 win qualifiers; 2 point qualifiers) TLOpen qualifier distribution: EU players won 6 TLOpens, NA players won 2. 5 Protoss and 3 Terrans were victorious. Consistency Award: This one goes out to dde, which is the only player who managed to get into the points of 4 different qualifiers. Definitely deserves some recognition for that, poor guy. Yeah, it's pretty awesome, but in no small part due to 7 of the 9 Zergs being invites/seeds from a BW tournament. :p great post bobster !!!
