I am Sung Warden Choi, a Grandmaster level Starcraft II player. I'm most recently known for my TvP Guide, the 1-1-1 "Terran Deathball" guide popular on TL and other sites.
FAQ: What's your streaming schedule? It will be usually between 9AM - 1PM PST, or 6PM - 10PM CET on Mon-Fri (PST standard) and whenever on weekends
Where are you from? I'm Korean-Canadian from Vancouver, Canada.
Where do you play? I'll be playing mostly on NA but EU as well if the demand is there. At the moment Korea isn't an option for me since it's too laggy.
Warden is a great player. Very concentrated and intelligent with his build orders and timing attacks. Knows when to be patient and then aggressive which I feel is very important when playing Terran. He actually was ranked number 2 in GM for the first week or so when GM came out. He's always been willing to do anything for elevengaming when asked! Hes great, can't wait to watch this stream during my work hours ahaha!
Please note that I believe the 10am-3pm times are for the west coast time zone.
Haha, I get asked that a lot in ladder.. but unfortunately im neither the HoN warden, CS warden, nor blizz anti-hack warden XD I had some RTS background as wc3 player and warden happened to be my favorite hero (anyone remember the annoying harass via poison dagger vs archmage.. lol) so I carried that name over to sc2.
Hey Warden, your stream rocks, its very technical and quite different from all the other players. Wich makes it very enjoyable. Keep it going man we know ur get 1s in GM and win some tourneys for sure!!!

warden's shadow strike was borderline imba for it's mana cost.. therefore, we can assume you're imba
Warden is one of the most underrated players in NA server. He is one of the most well-mannered player I've seen in a long time. I saw him in couple of tournaments and showmatches. I remember he beat RootDestiny 4-1 in a showmatch. He just toyed with him. He demonstrates some crazy micro and macro skills and even more he commentates WHILE he is playing talking about his builds and his intuition. His stream is very entertaining as well as educational for those lower level players wanting to learn new tricks and builds. He is VERY courteous to his viewers and does not hesitate to give a thoughtful answer to people's questions. The first time I viewed his stream, he practically vsed the entire FXO team in ladder. He beat FXOqxc, FXOpTiKzErO and FXOSLoG on the same day. Unfortunately he lost to FXOSheth by a baneling bust (I was hoping to see an all out macro match). But this shows how high of a caliber Warden is even compared to well known players. Not to mention both of his XiWarden and REQchbeUBC account is top 20 in Grandmasters league. People are missing out on one of the best and educational streams. I hope Warden gets featured soon so more can recognize how good of a player he is. Warden Fighting! XI Gaming team Fighting!
Very good stream, I enjoyed it quite a bit! (even though I only got to see about a minute or so, you seem like a great guy and I wanted to watch more). Also, this thread belongs in streams, if I am correct
This guy is really good and offers incredible insight in each matchup with each build order he does /his opponent does. Has really helped me understand the game better and really should be featured. Go warding!
Nice Stream, 1 of my favoured. why? 1. Very good Player (top 10 grandmaster) 2.good Stream quality and (!!!) nearly no delay so you can ask questions and he sees them before he goes for next game :p. Just watch him hes awesome. And Teamliquid plx feature him.
He is very well-mannered both on and offline and is a total baller. What else can I say? The only streamer I know that plays and commentates at the same time is Artosis, and well, he is FEATURED. Should totally get this guy featured too

Nice guy and very chatty. I really like the way this guy interacts with the viewers. Never heard of him? Well, in that case he's one of the best players you've never heard of! Give the stream a try.
Easily the best Terran stream going right now! This guy is great. He is top 10 NA grandmasters, beat several prominent pro players, saw other pro players asking him for 1v1 customs. This is definitely my new favourite stream. With a dearth of terran streams these days, no one else provides the level of insight this guy does. He gives good commentary, answers questions, explains his builds, all while providing extremely high level play. He needs to be featured.

I am theimperial8 and i am watching your stream now. you are very good like player and its very nice to watch your stream. THE BEST STREAM I NEVER SEEN. continue your good job!
He's amazing at SC2, him commenting on what he's doing is so helpful! He's also sick nasty as a terran in SC2! Also the only stream I watch! HE IS AMAZINGGGGGG !
It's always crazy seeing 1 post-same day tl registrants come and post on stream threads, but I guess he asked people to post or something on his stream?
This is a fantastic stream. Warden really interacts with the audience, answers every question, and he's a great Terran player. I like hearing him explain decisions as he ladders.
After watching his stream for about an hour, its one of the best terran streams ive ever watched, it has all the stuff u want out of a stream, a really good player, constant commentating, and he actually interacts with the chat between games. 15 out of 10 stars, every terran player should watch it

Yes I did ask people to comment on my stream thread if they enjoyed it. I don't think it's something to be frowned about though. They have made the effort to become a part of TL community and I'm sure at least some of them will become a regular poster like yourself.
I'm not even a Terran player but tuned in to watch the stream while bored at work one day, at the time he cracked top 10 GM league and had a 2nd account not far behind apparently.
Very solid entertaining player who was pretty good about interacting with his channel, surprised he only had 8 viewers at the time.
Great stream~ A lot like Trump in that he explains his thought process as he plays, except I think he's better then Trump (although maybe not TOP terran, like some of the European Terrans who stream e.g. Fury). Gave me a lot of insight into TvZ! Pretty good quality too. Would recommend to any Terran wanting to improve.
Warden is fricken sexy! He's too good not to be featured! He should be getting more viewers than Idra! He goes over his replays and gives us tips! Make him featured!

While I can't vouch for the veracity of each "1 post" comment on this thread, it may be that Warden goes above and beyond to include EVERY viewer in the stream. He answers every question, from even casual bronze players, and will explain why if they have follow up questions. He does ask maybe 1-2 times per day for people who enjoy the stream to come leave a comment, and it may be these "casual watchers" who had a good experience coming to post for the first time.
This stream is my favorite stream on team-liquid. He commentate throughout his whole casting. He coaches for really cheap too. Warden is amazing. He should be featured!
Great play all around. Interesting, intelligent builds coupled with in depth commentary make this one of the best terran streams around. Uses banshees for vision in tank battles and does it well. Warden can also all in and has excellent micro. Great stream.
Nice Streaming Warden. Thank you so much for the games and the info. Also its nice to learn from your strategies as well, I hope you dont mind me coppying some of your builds. Again Thanks man!
I've been watching this stream recently as I'm switching back to Terran. Warden has a very simple way of looking at the game that is refreshing. That, in addition to his very high rank on the ladder, qualifies him for a featured stream, in my opinion.
I answered a trivia question correctly on his stream and played a 2v2 with Warden! great guy, his score doubled mine! He went mass Raven and I went MMM+tank.
Heey Warden !!, I dont know if you recognize my name because i have been watching your stream for almost 2 weeks now ? Anyways despite the fact that there is like 9 hours time difference between us i try to watch you 1-2 hours every day !!. Love the way you stream man, you got me intressed in league matches so after i watched you for a week i started playing them myself and went from 50 --> 1st in brons soon to be silver i hope. Anyone who doesnt think this guy should be featured is 100% wrong !!!
Keep up the good work !! (sry for bad englisch im from the netherlands, europe ;D)
Wow... I've been pleasantly surprised watching him joke and discuss his thoughts as he plays. Not too many great terrans and he's phenomenal. He's both aggressive and passive depending on what his opponents do. GREAT GREAT Player. Really strong micro.
Warden is a very nice guy. He plays absolutely great. In contrast to other Terrans, he plays very reactively. He talks a lot during his matches such that I can follow his actions and thougts and learn from him. After each match he answers nearly all questions.
Very interesting stream, talks throughout about what goes through his mind, how he plays terran, etc. He answers the questions there too, so it's nice and interactive. Please feature.
caught one of your games in the IPL, you played some really clean TvT and really outplayed... merz i think it was, in every game even the one you lost. will watch when i see you on <3
Very fun to watch and very helping new players in SC2. High level games right there, I highly recommend featuring him since there are not enough good Terran streams with commentary.
Love the stream - always watch when I seen he's streaming. Explains builds and has a good sense of humor. Should be featured - think he's pushing his third account into GM.
Awesome stream man. Been watching you for a while now. I like the music requests and responses to everything along with thorough understanding of what your opponent is doing and how to react to it.
Hey Hey i am theimperial8(theimperial8 or theimperial18 on js.tv) this guy is very good. hes stream are very different than the other. im watching him for a while and im not tired to see him stream. Have a great day and this guys should be fetured!!! thanx!
I definitely enjoy Warden's stream. It's one of the few that I try to catch every time it is on. He's attentive to the chat and tries to do a fan game at the end of the day each day he plays. Would like to see him get the attention he deserves.
Warden should definatly be featured, high GM player with good hq stream, really good commentary. ive definatly watched more than 6 hours of warden this week, so goood
Warden is really awesome. I just love his stream because he's funny, he commentates, plays good music, sings, and interacts with his viewers. Please feature this guy asap. He deserves some recognition.
cool stream, nice interaction with the viewers, can combine entertainment (singing to kpop ftw ^_^) and strategy definatly one of my favoureds TL FEATURE HIM crank
Warden is an awesome grandmasters terran player who always interacts with the viewers. He's hilarious and has unique commentary. Every terran and kpop fan should watch his stream. He is nice and has an awesome stream quality as well. Warden must be featured ASAP.
Woah, still surprised that Warden isn't featured, one could argue that he falls into the same category as Trump and Sterling (Terran player that comments while playing).. but that should be a good thing and be rewarded!
On July 20 2011 05:23 Kelwyn wrote: Woah, still surprised that Warden isn't featured, one could argue that he falls into the same category as Trump and Sterling (Terran player that comments while playing).. but that should be a good thing and be rewarded!
This ........... he's really nice and good to see him playing since he discusses with the streamviewers and explains why he makes the choices ingame.
Good stream, good commentary. Very few streamers out there commentate their games in real-time as they play and prefer to just blast music. Gretorp use to do it before he started working for NASL and it's what made his stream so popular back in the day. Trump does it, and now he's featured even though he's a less skilled player than Warden. So you learn a lot more watching Warden than any other Terran. Warden's stream is very interactive; he checks chat often and responds directly to the audience's questions and comments. He'll even take music requests if people post youtube links in chat between games. At the end of the day, he'll usually do a 4v4 fan game with 3 of his viewers, which is great.
Unfortunately I've never seen the viewer count go past 200 and recently it hovers at around 30-50 viewers on any given day. I believe that the following 3 problems are among the possible factors holding back the stream:
1) Warden rages a lot in 1v1 ladder games. And not the funny kind like IdrA. He streams like 5 hours a day and 2.5 hours of it are him being angry and bitter. You'll know because his commentary rate drops like 90% (the remaining 10% is him calling people "fags"). Even if you could stand the cursing, the disappearance of useful commentary defeats the main selling point of watching his stream.
2) Warden rages at his teammates in fan games, which defeats the point of servicing his fans. He calls them pussies and nubs almost every time, even in games where they're winning. He goes cutesy tech builds every game (fast ghosts, mass infestors, banelings-only) and then when he or somebody else gets rushed (which is 100% guaranteed in 4v4's), he'll blame and rage at his teammates. He'll disregard walling his ramp, get 6-pooled, and rage at his teammates. He'll totally ignore his 3 teammates pinging the map when a big invasion is incoming, and when they get rolled, he'll rage at his teammates. Yes, he's that guy, the 4v4 player who blames everybody on the team except himself (even though he's the guy doing the super-greedy/risky builds). The point is not that his strategies are questionable, but that he yells at fans in fan games. Fan games are supposed to be for fun. 4v4 team games are supposed to be for fun. So why is Warden so pissed off at his fans all the time? Maybe his fans like getting yelled at, but I doubt it. And this is actually how he ends the stream each day.
3) What the hell is up with Soyboy, his brother? He trolls the games on-stream (rude PMs to Warden seen by everybody, even stream-sniping). He trolls the justin.tv stream chat and curses at & bans fans and viewers. The worst is when Warden is streaming a coaching session with a student, and his brother continually disses the student and the practice partner in observer chat (why is he invited into the game in the first place???) and the stream chat. Warden must realize this is happening, as it has been a problem several times, but why does he let it continue? Would you want to pay $20/hr for lessons if you knew that during that hour your teacher's brother will go around publicly crapping all over you and everybody else? Not on my dime, sir!
I think if those 3 problems are fixed, this stream will be golden and it'll have the potential to become a Featured stream.
I agree with the first paragraph of what the previous poster said...everything after that I have to disagree. I view his stream quite often and IMO the previous poster is exaggerating a little. Sure, he rages from time to time but not half the time he streams according to the above post. He mostly rages at himself and only BM if he is getting BM from the opp. I have not seen him rage once in a fan game. Most of the time they just mess around in fan games, win or lose it doesn't matter to them. If they happen to lose, Warden will play until the team wins. As far as his brother goes, its true that he likes to troll everyone, but Warden talked to him about it. I've talked to Warden's brother and in reality he's a really nice guy, he just loves to troll. Just my thoughts.
I love you how you talk like you are so sure of yourself. It makes me laugh so hard when some misinformed poor poor soul talk complete trash. I believe that the following problem is among the possible factors of your ignorance.
1) [WCX] rages a lot [about stupid stuff]. And not the funny kind like IdrA. He [watches] streams like 5 hours a day and 2.5 hours of it are him being angry and bitter [about his sad life]. You'll know because his [reading and comprehension] rate drops like 90% (the remaining 10% is him calling people ["trolls"]. Even if you could stand the [ignorance], the disappearance of [any thoughtful comments] defeats the main selling point of [reading WCX's posts].
Feel free to msg me if you would like to figure out what really happened instead of acting like a 5 year old.
Wow.... I am a big Warden fan, but I am in agreement with WCX with the exception of point #2, I have not seen that. It does seem like Warden has been angrier lately.
@ SOYBOY: Way to prove WCX's point SOYBOY....you kinda made yourself look like the @$$ there.
Appreciate the comments, but I feel that you are quite mistaken on some issues.
1. Yes, actually I've been raging quite a lot recently - I've been grinding the ladder for so long these days, to a point where I got sick of sc2 pretty much. Yet I was just laddering and laddering for the purpose of streaming. That and along with some sick losing streaks I have vented out my frustration in stream and I am sorry for that. I am going to take a few days off until I feel like I want to play sc2 again (which obviously will happen since I love playing the game). I understand its unprofessional and apologize if I've hurt your feelings - I'll keep it to a minimum.
2. I have no clue how long you've been watching my stream, but I have never raged in team games. If I was going to get worked up about team games, I wouldn't even play team games with viewers at all, period. Also if you are referring to yesterday's games, at least 2 of the players I've gotten to know them for a while (more than a month) so if I was calling him a noob I was really doing that in jest. And they call me noobs too lol. I think you are overreacting to this "fan team game" stuff, I am really doing this for fun and to enjoy with my viewers.
3. It is true that my brother trolls me and viewers sometimes in the chat, and I've talked to him about it in more than one occasion. I've also put him in timed out, and banned him in some days as well. I'll make sure to warn him not to do this again, but at the end of the day, he's my brother and I am not going to ban him permanently.
I appreciate your post and I'll take good measures to improve my stream even better ^^
You guys take this too serious. Warden is a human, like you and me. I get mad and angry too if I lose to stupid mistakes and every game after that is a try-hard match, which leads to more mistakes and more rage. If you don't understand this, then something is wrong with you guys. Let him rage, it is his right. He is streaming for us, he would be in a way better spot if he wouldnt stream, but he knows that there are fans out there who love watching his stream and hang arround with the other viewers in the chat. Its a fun place and we would prefere, letting him have a break and see him return instead of seeing him rage and get frustrated more and more. In the end, we want him to be successful in SC2 and enjoying the game. Also, the BM between him and his viewers isnt something to be taken serious, we all laugh about it cause we know, its just jokeing and having fun. And the trolling brother, just remeber: Its the interwebz guys! If you feel offended by trolls, then the internet isnt a place for you.
Enjoy your break Warden, dont feel bad or anything else what ppl are telling you, you did nothing wrong and your stream is the best! See you whenever you feel alright again.

Hey Warden,
Thanks for taking the time to respond to the post. I have been watching your stream on and off for several weeks, sometimes live and other times VODs. Just to quickly go over your points:
For point #1, the issue is not whether you've hurt my feelings (you haven't), but whether other viewers have made the same observation and been turned off of the stream. I think the problem has only been in the recent 1-2 weeks, where it's spiked to quite a high % of time. I don't think 50% is an exaggeration (at least not when you only stream for 5 hours and maybe a single gruesome TvT where you're absolutely pissed will take up an entire 1 hour, and that's just a single game out of others in which you'll be playing while angry). It used to be fine before so maybe you're just a bit burned out. I do think you're usually pretty funny. Next week when season 3 starts hopefully you'll be refreshed b/c you can finally see if your work has been paying off and you can get accounts #3 and #4 to GM.
For point #2, it's just the sense I got. Maybe this last week has just been worse. Everything is recorded in the VODs so you could always just watch them if you haven't been conscientious of what's going on. I have absolutely not exaggerated any of my assertions in my original post. I could you give you specific timestamps in your VODs for all of points (calling them "pathetic" and "pussies". Yelling at other people when you got 6 pooled even though it's b/c you didn't wall your own choke. Not paying attention to your teammates or even bothering to help them, like when you yelled at those 2 guys for not telling you they were being attacked and they said "dude, we pinged you 30 seconds ago". etc.) Maybe you know like 1-2 of the guys, but I'm under the assumption that most of your teammates are random strangers and stream watchers. It just seems you yell at them a lot for stuff that's not even their fault.
For point #3, what else can I say? Apparently Soyboy was compelled to make a new TL account and create his 1st post to respond to me, so I must have hit a sore point, which is the truth. I don't know if you were aware, but when you were coaching slayersgrack, your brother was going around shitting all over justin.tv stream chat. Everyone was wondering what was going on. He even banned Wardenfan or at least deleted all his chat text. I mean, a guy is close enough to you to name himself Wardenfan, and your bro feels compelled to ban him. Like what the hell? I can't be the only one to know it was a problem cuz Domino had to be called in to shut him up.
Aside from all that though, I want to make it clear that overall I think your stream is fantastic. I do think it deserves to be featured on TL. I made my post because I want your stream to succeed but yet never see more than 50 viewers. Maybe your viewer count is currently limited b/c the stream time is when NA people are working and there's nothing you can do to bump it up to like 200+ (which implies when September comes and school restarts comes it'll dip even more).
But maybe it's also because of the points I raised. You've had 7 pages of thread with guys coming in here, many with single-digit TL post counts, praising you and saying how awesome you are. You've got your students coming in here to defend you (not a surprise at all that buddylee would come here to defend his sensei, very honorable student, and I'm not being sarcastic). You've got your friends coming in here to defend you (not a surprise at all that jinrohcommando would come here to defend you. wasn't he the guy who made your justin.tv background images?) Me, I'm just an unbiased random stream watcher and not your friend, just 1 of 50 on any given day, and these are merely my observations and opinions.
I think that other SC2 players who are much less skilled than you are having more viewers, and I want to see your stream beat theirs in viewer count. I believe your stream does deserve to get featured. The 3 points were just ones I thought might be worth considering. Disregard if you like. Best of luck to you, and I look forward to the day when your live streams hit the thousand+ count.
Thanks for your advice to my brother. I was really hurt by your first post and you did hit me at a sore point. I would just like to apologize for my behavior and try my best to be more courteous to the viewers of Warden. It is just that xidomino stole my job as a dominos delivery boy and doesn't have the nerve to talk to me on skype of the issues at hand. Again I would just like to say I was deeply, deeply hurt by a comment made by such a winner like yourself and I had to make an account just so we can be on the same page about domino's incompetence in solving problems. Finally, I would just like to say you spent probably a total of 45minutes replying to warden which means you have nothing better to do. Which also indicates you take first place in front of wardenfan.
That is a really great post! Im one of the 50 viewer and also one of the single poster in this thread. In some points i´m with you in other points i´m not. The way you have written your criticism was really really respectfull... even a big troll like SOYBOY ( ;-) ) is finally thanking you for your advice.
I think its important do don´t take the hole trolling and bad/good mannered thing to serious. Sometimes i really have to smile when he is calling his opponent a stupid "all inner" (don´t forget his guide in wich he explains manny of timings for all in´s).
If more guys would write posts like you did, the quality of the most threads would rise a lot.
Sorry for my bad english i hope its understandable
Enjoy the rest Warden! I really miss your stream as your by far the best Terran stream available, but your health is more important and this is a game, even as serious as we take it. Can't wait to see you back in action tearing sh!t up!!

Domino's incompetence in solving problems?
What are you even talking about kid? Domino has done multiple large events for the SC2 community as well as set up flight, hotel, limo service for your brother at MLG Anaheim and you dare to bad manner him? Pathetic cheap shot comment in my opinion. Why don't you try getting on a pro/real team and try to deal with some of the issues that come up. Domino handles his shit nicely.
There's no way to put it, but nobody cares about your little comments on Warden's stream, that you're his brother, or your comments in this thread. You're just so ignorant about your comments towards Domino like you know anything he does.
EDIT: +Also make him featured please. I've seen him beat IdrA, KaKi, anyone on the American Server. His stream has decent quality, decent music, plus he usually gives legit feedback about what he is doing. Furthermore there is a lack of high end Terran NA streamers.
Seriously, very good stream. I switched from Protoss to Zerg(neither Terran -_-) and I still find his stream extremeley entertaining. His style of Terran is very fun to watch and the commentary is great.
warden is awesome and anyone who hasn't should definitely check out warden's stream. always has some awesome commentary and some awesome strategies/builds and play, all around awesome guy.
Really glad Warden started streaming again after a bit of a hiatus. His commentary is awesome, very helpful for players of all levels (he's GM, so maybe top 50 GMs wouldn't agree with me--Warden is usually around 20 rank when he's active and practicing regularly).
If you like SC2 Terran streams, definitely follow his stream. He's one of the best. I rank his stream quality with qxc's and Sterling's for GM level commentary that helps all players. Only DeMuslim's might be better (when his throat isn't hurting).
i just wanted to leave this here, seems the right thing to do since you did the same to destiny, i love how hypocryte you are
