Hello there! I am Generalul, a Starcraft 2 random player and thanks to an upgrade in my hardware i am now able to stream my Starcraft 2 games at http://www.twitch.tv/generalulhttp://www.twitch.tv/generalul
I started by playing terran, and in a few seasons i got to high masters, but i wanted to experience all of what Starcraft 2 had to offer so i decided to go random all the way, both in teams and in 1v1 games. After i fell to diamond, i clawed my way back to masters, and in the end, last season i managed to finish in top 100 of world's 1v1 random players:
That being said, I'll be streaming Starcraft 2 games, as often i can, mostly 1v1's. I will provide commentary and advice to anyone who wants, and i am up for practice games as well.
If you have something constructive to add, please do so, either here or in the stream chat.
I will stream on a regular basis daily starting at 10:00 am CEST (11:00 am local Romanian time) for a few hours and i will try to play some more games at random times in the day.
Stream starting in a few minutes, today i will do an analysis on maphacking and i will cast some replays of my own where i played cheaters and some of others from the Gm/Master map hacker thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614
I analyzed your gameplay and I see that you still haven't started to use more control groups, you use only 1 2 and 3.
Strong macro but when you have to gather all your units and attack you struggle a lot. Using only one control group for all your units isn't very efficient.
You improved a lot since you started to play Sc2, congratz.
True, that's definetly something to be worked at I've experimented with multiple control groups for the army, especially the casters, but usually i had more trouble keeping them all together (for example ghost would remain behind the MMM ball), while i find it easier to press tab and switch abilities as needed. I know it's not the best solution but hey, i've seen people in GSL use only 1 control for the army
Anyway, come back to SC2, i would love to be raped live by you again
I agree that 1 control group can be good and many use it.
But with a complex army from T for example, where you have to stim/siege/burrow mines it's important to have them splitted.
I know that some units remain behind if you are using multiple control groups, specially since you haven't practice this, and it can be frustrating to start changing your whole gameplay. But once you practice this enough you would get a good grip on it and you won't have units remaining behind.
You can use tab, but when you have a diverse composition, such as few vikings, few medivacs + the standard army composition using tab can be difficult even if you have gosu tabing and shift tabing skills. You can also use ctrl + click to select all the units of a same type also, and I know you use this a lot.
And if you have Ravens in the same control group and you A move the whole control group the ravens will get exposed as they will move to that place while the other units engage from distance, you have to ctrl click the ravens and use their abilities or have them move back a bit. It's not very efficient. It would be more efficient to put all ravens in control group 4 for example, and when you A move your army you can just press 4 and control them as you wish either put Pdds or have them wait in safety until the enemy units are gathered and you can land good seeker missiles.
At least for the Ravens use a different control group and have them follow (move command and click) a big unit such as a thor this way they won't be exposed.
I will get back to Sc2, not sure when. Currently I'm working on my PhD thesis in industrial engineering, and Sc2 eats a lot of time.
Sup Hassan, idk if i'll be able to come, i already went a few times this year to Bucharest, for some lans and other stuff and taken that i live in Cluj, the distance makes it tiresome and costly Still, i would have loved to come and allin some pro players, maybe i would have succeded in a game or 2 but the spots have been taken long ago, you can only attend as a spectator now...
If it will be possible i will try to stream Dreamhack Bucharest matches as well, focusing on Romanian players but not only. So, for those of you less known players that want your games to be casted, please contact me here on ingame Generalul#445.
Ok, for those who haven't checked my stream already, below is a highlight of what you can expect too see, be it 1v1 ladder, 2v2 (world top 50 team), ffa or other games:
Also, there seems to be some kind of confusion, when i say i am top 100 world 1v1 random player, that doesn't mean i am among the best 100 1v1 players in the world, i am just one of the best 100 players that play RANDOM at 1v1. Atm i am top 50, you can check it out right here:
A little update about my stream, seems like Hearthstone has become the regular event now as it has me hooked Here are some of my streamed games, for more follow my stream and get notified when i come online:
