Hey all, just wanted to write this up and let you guys know it's actually not hard to sign up at ongamenet's website and get the channel's 24/7(?), HQ, stream directly. This tutorial probably seems a little long at first sight, but you shouldn't need to read most of it. The signup process may take anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes. It's really that easy.
EDIT: The reason I went and made an account at ongamenet is because the alternative links to the OGN stream did not play smoothly. And while I strongly appreciate the effort of some users to allow easy streaming, it simply didn't work for me - and seemed to be a problem for others as well. If this link:
http://ogn.ferron.pe
gives you the stream without any lagging problems, then don't even worry about going through this whole signup process. Though as some other members have stated, an upside to the player at ongamenet.com is that it can also play VODs.
Where you want to head to first is www.ongamenet.com/user/userRegForm.ogn . This should be the sign-up page for an ongamenet.com membership. If it does appear to resemble what is described in step 1, just continue to follow the steps and you should be on your way.
***If that link is, for some reason, invalid, instead go to www.ongamenet.com/index.ogn . If THAT doesn't work, just go to ongamenet.com and somehow find your way to the main index (shouldn't be hard). From here, ignore all of the graphic hoo-ha and moonspeak going on in the body of the page and instead direct your eyes to the navigation bar on top. From left-to-right, you should see the ongamenet logo, some korean text links with vertical dividers, a blue bubble with some other text links, and then some more (you guessed it) korean text links. On the right of the bar, you should see four links; the one you want to click is the one that looks like this:
회원가입
-- which I assume means "register". Of the links furthest to the right on the navigation bar, it should be the second from the left, or third from the right. This should direct you to the page described in step 1.***
01. The header of this page reads "회원가입 MEMBERSHIP". Below that is a block of korean text, a horizontal numbered bar (1-4) that shows your sign-up progress, and some vertically numbered choices (1-4), each designated a green button/link on the right side reading "회원가입".
Of those four vertically numbered options, you want to choose #4, which is a membership for "overseas resident foreigners". Click on the green button for #4.
02. The next page has two scrollable sections with little checkboxes beneath of them, reading "회원 이용약관" and "개인정보 취급방침," or (translated) "membership terms and conditions" and "privacy policy". Click both checkboxes and scroll down.
The lower section of the page is titled "가입 인증" or "join authentication". You will see a big icon of an email letter, and some text fields to the right of it. The first text field reads "이름" or "name," and the second reads "이메일" or "email". Enter your respective information into these fields. BELOW these two fields, there will be a gray button -- click it. A popup will show up which reads "입력하신 이메일로 인증번호가 발송 되었습니다," or "Your email has been sent the authentication number."
And just like every signup you've done for any forum or webpage, you need to go and check your inbox for the confirmation info. In this instance, you'll recieve an email from webmaster@ongemenet.com, reading:
"안녕하세요 온게임넷 입니다. 요청하신 인증 번호는 ###### 입니다."
-- where "######" is your personal 6-digit confirmation number. Copy that number and enter it into the only remaining text field in the membership confirmation section of page 02. Click the gray button next to it.
If all goes well, you will get a popup reading "인증에 성공 하였습니다" or "authentication has succeeded". In writing this tutorial, I got one "invalid authentication" message (you will know it if you can't progress to the next page by clicking the green button), but it worked fine when I went back and tried a different email. It should also work by restarting the signup process from page 01.
Click the green button with an arrow on it at the bottom of the page.
03. This page is where you need to enter all of your personal info. From top to bottom, it reads:
Name - (should already show your name) Member ID - English letters and a number between 5-10 to enter. (Can not enter spaces) Password - English lowercase letters and a number, 6-15 characters, including input Confirm Password - Forgot Password Question - Forgot your password? Answer - Nickname - Nationality: - Gender - Male Female Date of Birth - Email - (should already show your email) Receive e-mail or - YES NO Agreed by Member Information - YES NO Preferred game genres - (after choosing one option, another drop-down should appear) Automatically sign up prevention - This is normal procedure to activate the membership. Please enter the number in the box.
Note that "Member ID" and "Nickname" both have those gray buttons next to the text fields. This is one of those things that checks to make sure nobody else on the site is using the ID or nickname you want to claim. By clicking the gray box next to each, it should open up a new page/tab in your browser. On each page, you should see one of the two:
(name not taken) *name* 는 사용하실 수 있는 회원ID 입니다. *name* 를 회원ID로 사용하시겠습니까?
or
(name already taken) *name* 는 이미 등록된 회원ID 입니다. 다시 등록해 주십시요.
If the name is not taken, there should be a gray button on that new page. Click it to claim your ID or nickname.
For the "forgot password question" dropdown box, just make sure to choose one of them. In the box below, enter something you should remember easily, like your ID or whatever. I assume you can't speak Korean (neither can I), so the question isn't going to help.
Be sure every text field is full, the password is lower-case and has been entered identically twice, and each dropdown box has an option selected. Enter in the nospam text and advance to the next page by clicking the green button with a checkmark. If it doesn't allow you to advance, re-check the page, re-enter the info, and make sure a drop-down choice has been selected for each.
After clicking the button, you may be directed to a page which says "요청하신 페이지 주소를 확인 후 시도해 주세요," or "Please try your request after you check the page address." It's a random error. Just click the green button, reload/refresh page 03. (to get a new nospam) and try again.
04. Your username and password will be on display here. Click the green button and you should be redirected to the login page.
***You've now signed up for ongamenet.com; all instructions past this point are for logging in and finding the live stream***
Once on the login page, enter in the username and password you registered with. Note that they are both case sensitive, so you will get an error if letters are not capitalized as you specified during sign-up. If you enter it correctly, you'll be redirected to a page reading:
로그인 - Ongamenet Online
로그인 처리가 완료 되었습니다. (Login process is complete)
로그아웃|마이페이지|고객센터 (Logout | My Page | Client Center)
Click the green button on the right of the page which has "TV" in the middle of some Korean text. This should redirect you to the OGN live stream!
*****
In the future, when you want to login, either go to:
www.ongamenet.com/user/login.ogn
or
www.ongamenet.com/index.ogn , then find the text link on the top navigation bar (near the right side), which reads "로그인". This will direct you to the login page.
*****
If, for some reason, that link to the live stream doesn't show up after logging in, just look up at the top navigation bar. There should be a colored bubble with two links - one of which says "TV" and has a little "LIVE" icon inside a picture of a television. Click that and it should send you where you want to be.
*****
Lastly, assuming you're logged in to ongamenet, you can just plug the following link right into your browser at any time to go to the stream:
www.ongamenet.com/live/livePlayer.ogn?CID=1&isExpand=Y

Seems to have worked for me. Thanks!
Works great. I don't seem to be getting any video controls on the player, maybe it's because I'm on OS X though.Last edit: 2009-08-20 06:27:12 |

It says that your password has to be lower case English letters and numbers. |

| This is pretty sweet. It also gives you access to vods and everything. During the player on the menu that pops up(beside audio control and everything) theres a little TV icon, hover over that and select VOD. I'm actually watching wc3 WCG vods. Last edit: 2009-08-20 07:29:37 |
