Uh.. he was a fag to me for a post a bunch of other people "got" and thanked me for. Not really complicated when I respond to his fagginess. Don't add to the shit storm with a bitchy comment, thx.
It's funny that a metal thread creates a bunch of drama. (How brutal, hardcore, satanic is drama?. wheee.) This just goes to show you that the metalhead stereotype of Pantera-worshiping rednecks breaking beers bottles or Slipknot tattooed 20somes wearing ICP shirts is inaccurate in this internet age. Well, maybe immaturity is the one constant. Anywho, it's scary here; I should go back to lurking.
Random aside: I have heard WoWcore (UK's Ardent Dawn anyone?) that was decent, but when I went looking for Starcraft-themed metal bands they all sucked. Stay away from an asian band named Protoss.
If I am lucky, I have 60 APM. Death/Grind/Black/Sludge- metuuuuuul!

Limbonic Art's Moon in the Scorpio is very keyboard heavy, but the atmosphere is very majestic.
Ulver's Bergtatt is fantastic, folky, and fuckwin.
Deathspell Omega's Si Monumentum Requiris Circumspice is required listening if you want to get elitist points.
Blut Aus Nord's Memoria Vetusta I and Memoria Vetusta II are both worth looking at.
Windir's entire discography is nothing short of amazing.
Falkenbach will make the heathen in you proud.
If you like Darkthrone, you will like Behexen.
Summoning is for the Tolkien-junky in you. Not all of their albums are straight up metal, but even those ones are worth looking at. They're somewhat cheesy, but if you can get past that, it's amazing.
I'll post more if anyone wants to know more.

I just checked out their Severed Reality song, they're pretty good. Catchy riffs, catchy drums, old-school vox, this isn't too bad. Better than a lot of the other metal being churned out these days (from all the genres).

yeah I felt like they really improved over their first album. The songs are a lot tighter, and the drummer doesn't fucking suck anymore and fail on staying at the same pace. (I think they got a new one?) Got a demolition hammer vibe from it !

I have a few (Legenda Aurea and...I can't remember the rest...), but the vocals all leave something to be desired.
Alas is a prog-ish band with a female vocalist that relies a lot on atmosphere. Lunatica is a symphonic/power metal band bordering on being poppy with female vocals as well.
i liked lunatica ever since i heard this song used in some GOMTV event. they have a very talented vocalist IMO.
Does nightwish/lacuna coil/within temptation count? not really proggy though
haha yes I remember when MBCGame used Lunatica - Edge of Infinity for their Proleague matches. They also used a Heavenly (French power metal band) song.

So fucking predictable and bad. TL has the most high-brow metal audience I have ever seen. Get over yourselves.

Wow, thank god we have someone as brainy and intelligent as you to look down on this thread and disapprove. Thanks for contributing to the thread.
I was amazed when I found this song was on Tony Hawk's Project 8. Really good mix of orchestral music and heavy metal. Some of the best I've heard and they really gel well together in this thread.
Their other music is more experimental but still very good. More can be found at http://www.myspace.com/xaureliusxcorex. Their album should be arriving sometime this year.
Unlike you I don't have to randomly suggest some band to have content with my post you fucking dip shit.
Sometimes contributing to the thread consists of a callout. In this case a bunch of elitist pricks denouncing a bunch of people's preferences needed to be hushed or at least called out... so I did that. The discussion was had about 2-3 pages prior and it still continued so I did what I did.
Stop being a fag and shitting up the forums with stupid posts like this one.
What an incredibly ironic post. Delusions of grandeur indeed.

I don't need to read 19pages to know this thread is everyone pushing what they believe to be the best music down one anothers throats.
However, I really love Protest the Hero and Between the Buried and Me right now. They aren't classic "heavy metal" more progressive metal, but I still love it

It's a joke, I don't care if he likes metalcore, I think he mentioned As Blood Runs Black once, I'm just being facetious with the elitists.
