This one is different... very much so. It feels like it'd be the sort of music to play in a cutscene interlude in an RPG. Very soothing, and no traces of the usual power in Youmu's theme is present here.
I'm really diggin' this. It's not the dark, suspenseful sort of arrangement that Locked Girl is generally portrayed as. It's ethereal, drifting away and coming back.
Well, this is an odd one. I've never heard this combination of acoustic and techno elements before... and the ghostly chorus is a bit weird. It's not amazing, but I'm still a fan.

Just started this game, pretty good. Is there a way for me to change from the updownleftright system to mouse system ? I am currently playing ten desires.

I absolutely love how danmaku is explained in SSM. There were a few inconsistencies and oddities about the danmaku system that ZUN never really explained or elaborated upon, but I think I'll adopt Owen's danmaku "mechanics" as... Well, I'll put it this way: Until ZUN makes canon some other description of danmaku, then I will hold Owen's as canon. I like how focus is the key, and how Owen highlights the importance of maintaining focus, to the point where danmaku duels are seen as a testament to one's intelligence and creativity rather than brute force.
The spell card part is also well explained, though I can't help but feel that "defeating" a spell card just doesn't translate well from a video game into into a more realistic scenario. Even though Owen provides decent rationale about how and why spell cards "break", the whole thing just feels clunky.
I hate anons. Why would they choose for Cirno to be a maid if Farmer won the duel? We don't need more meido in SSM, we need ANSWERS to the dozens of questions. :/ Remilia seems to love the idea, though, so I guess there's some merit in the plan... but still. Speaking of Remilia, she expected Farmer to completely rape Cirno in the duel... but it seems like Farmer didn't win by too much, since he was forced down to his last spell card. Yet, Remi doesn't seem upset at all that the battle was relatively close. I wonder if that was an oversight from Owen, or if Remi was just encouraging Farmer to put out 110% despite being an amateur.

Rumia, Daiyousei, Cirno, Meiling, Koakuma, Patchouli, Sakuya, Remilia, Letty, Ran, Yukari, and Reimu. Flandre is not confirmed yet, as we still don't know whether the creature in the basement actually is her. I'm eager to see how far the story will go in regards to encompassing the whole of Gensokyo.
Sakuya knows about the spectacles. Does she know WHAT they do? I'm not so sure, because otherwise she could have just taken them while Farmer was frozen outside the sparring room. At what point will Sakuya catch on? Again, why are the spectacles reacting to her temporal abilities in the first place?
If neither Yukari nor Reimu knows how Farmer arrived in Gensokyo... then how the hell did he get here? This "interplanar" transportation thing Ran theorized still seems like it'd have to do with boundaries, thus Yukari would have some sort of idea. I wish Farmer would have allowed Ran to probe for the spark; even if it became a Bad End, we might have still gotten a clue.
Nathaniel isn't a native of Gensokyo either... so how did he get there? And why does he have a contact there? Isn't Gensoyko's existence only known to a very select few in the outside world? How did this contact (presumably Rinnosuke, but I can't say for certain) get word to Nathaniel? Could this contact have something to do with Nathaniel's ulterior motive for going to the SDM and/or activating Justice Mode? Also, Nathaniel beat Remilia in E-Card, yet is unwilling to speak of his prize. Does Remilia just do the same prize each time, or are they specifically tailored to the player?
1885 is when the Great Hakurei Border was erected. 1887 is the last year Farmer remembers it being. That seems like an awfully short period of time before Gensokyo was isolated and when Farmer showed up. Is this just coincidence, or is more of the time distortion effect taking place?

So I finally beat 06 on hard for the third time. I had been in a slump for like 2 months not being able to beat it anymore so I'm quite happy about it ^_^

Yeah, I had the same issue. When I checked (like, eight months ago), there was no entry for ELECTRIC RED, nor its sole member, PEARTH2. I just checked again, and neither shows up. You'll have to use a different resource, I guess.

I'm not sure, really wierd decison in hindsight, and also at the time, though the author said he was looking for someway to introduce cirno into the story.

I really forgot about that part. Also of regretable not is that bastard YAF, who convinced Owen that his prose was overly purple, and so he started doing that less. Personally, I liked the way it was, its refreshing since not many authors have the ability to do that it as good as he does.
I get that the point of those questions was to flesh out Farmer as a character... but still. Couldn't Owen have done it another way? Looked up the part...Perhaps Owen didn't want to flesh out the character, and instead just wanted to put that scene? And while he was at it, he thought it would be odd to put arbitrary background details and just made it a write in.

Between not remember more minor details (I read the story last December), red herrings, and explanations just not given, I couldn't answer half your questions if I tried. Keep in mind how many questions you have, be aware that explanations ungiven for some questions are a virtual certainty. I love the story for all it's faults, though. Enjoy reading!
Mid-length post about danmaku in stories, spawning from Archas' note about the spell card system in ASSM. No story spoilers, read if curious, just spoilered for length and specificity. + Show Spoiler +
Danmaku: I liked (but didn't particularly love) his implmentation of the spell card system. I agree in general that the translation of the spell card system is a very odd process. There are so many more questions then answers...
Mechanics -- -What the effect of a bullet hit is, or rather, what does it take to break a spell card. Usually a solid hit, enough to break concentration, or a lapse of concentration from other means (e.g. strain, fatigue) will trigger a spell card dissolve, but Owen uses a more gradual system where getting hit sort of makes you lose concentration like sand slipping through your fingers. This solves the next problem of... -assuming spellbreak happens with lack of concentration, wouldn't it be possible for more durable and pain-resistant persons to take a significant amount of hits before losing focus? -What sort of (lasting) damage does danmaku do? How superficial or not? In ASSM, danmaku does particularly little damage to surrounding objects, and seems mostly ethereal/conjuration besides the fact that it hurts a lot to get hit.
Logistics -- -Who "gurantees" the spell-card system. In the cases where it is mentioned, common backers are Yukari and sometimes also Reimu. Personally my head canon is that they are the backers, with the Yama loosesly supporting them (as in she will act, but only if things get really out of hand). -What exactly is the role of the spell-card system/how much does it replace real combat. My impression in ASSM, is that danmaku is just contest of wits and agility, and only takes the place of a friendly match. -How does danmaku scale, if at all, with the power level or intelligence of the user. Are there people who are bad at danmaku, but good at real fighting? Vice Versa?
Implications- There are a lot of semantics you could go into, and with other things like youkai eating humans etc. but basically, in a serious conflict, its hard to justify why both sides still use danmaku. If yukari is strong enough to back up the spellcard system, then why doesn't she just solve the problem on her own. If reimu is insanely good at dueling from so much pratice (at the very least, she eventually beats basically every character in the windows game, if you admit those events), why would people who fight her do so in her strongest suit. (As a side not, there totally needs to be a story with a really strong beat-the-shit out of you battle monk Reimu, with needles, amulets, fantasy orbs and all)
Writers, for their stories generally come up with and pick consistent and somewhat logical combinations of answers to these questions. They don't really explain (show, not tell) the details, but it doesn't seem terribly neccesary to do so. I think it's a good idea, as a writer, to have that stuff sorted out, to neatly avoid contradictions/potential small plot holes.
Actually, in many stories, especially the more serious ones, the spell card system is largely set aside, since its non-lethal, and you need real conflict (Lies, real stories are born from drinking alchoho tea) One could just disconsider the TH main events, or say they were fought out with actual combat.
By the way, bullet points are cool.

The one thing about EoSD I dislike is the rank system, because it makes certain parts almost impossible (like Meiling's nonspell where she has red and blue kunai going side to side holy fuck just writing about it makes me mad). Also too many attempts at lunatic 1ccs end on stage 1 orz
