i was doin this ttriving question:

then it said "In 1998, there were 2 add-on packs released for the game to continue the StarCraft story." and the answer was TRUE!
then i askd around and people said it was insurrection and retribution and that they continued the storyline. so i googled and looked where ican buy these and theyre going for like 50-150 bux. ridiculous. does anyone here have ht maps and mind shrin them? i wanna play the story, but im moreso curious if bnlizzard is gonna include their stories as a part of sc2 |

| as far as I remember blizzard did not develop the add on packs. I tried insurrection way back and it was pretty awful. Why it's so expensive is the rarity of it. That being said it might be rare but it's a garbage game it isn't worth forking the extra cash out for it. |

| I remember reading something on it. Apparently Blizzard did NOT develop them, but two other third party people did. They were not successful. |

Insurrection and Retribution were both pretty bad. However, the multiplayer maps they included weren't horrible. I do remember that the multiplayer maps added in Insurrection had horrid distance between the starting mineral patches and your starting hatch/nex/cc. A perfect split would lead to it taking like 25-30 seconds to get to 50 minerals instead of the original 17/18. This is a zerg player speaking, so the details may be a bit fuddled.
Either way they're not worth the money, but if you can find a copy of the maps off the internet or an ISO...go for it. |

| I have Insurrection sitting at home, you say it's fetching some real cash on e-bay? Interesting. The story was awful from what I remember, it didn't have much to do with the actual starcraft story I think, the multiplayer maps weren't much better than the Blizzard ones that come with the game. |

I did those campaigns once. They were soooooooo bad.
Seriously, it's just some triggers on super huge maps with a lot of nothing in it. |

Hmmmm.... A 1 post necro.
Anyway, I have the original Insurrection CD still, never beat it when i first bought it as it was pretty god awful. The CD had all the map/campaign files accessible if I recall so if anyone wants them I can probably pull em off. |

Starcraft Insurrection sucks my baws, it's got cheap styrofoam sets, lame production values, and a budget lower than an episode of ALF...
