[H] TvZ Getting Wrecked by Muta/Ling

One of my big problems in TvZ is just surviving the muta/ling when the zerg does a 3 hat muta build. They would often keep my marines in my base, then send speedlings to kill off workers/ turrets, or kill off all my marines with their mutalisks.

This game vs a friend is an example of this:

-My own reasons why I lost
- Bad Turret placement
- Bad Spot to fight mutalisks
- Bad Micro

As a terran play going bio you HAVE to pressure the zerg early to at least force him to sunken up, you don't even have to engage. This not only delays muta timing, but allows you to macro up some more units. I know there were alot of zerglings but with decent bunker positioning and a med+firebat on your ramp you are safe to at least show the zerg some pressure.

Turret placement wasn't so bad, but copying any pros sim city really helps in this matchup. The mistake that cost you the game was indeed fighting mutalisks on the ramp. Never ever ever fight mutas on a ramp!

If your MnM micro isn't that good, which it seems to be if your loosing to a standard 3 hatch muta, you should put a bunker at your natural mineral line to stop lings killing your workers and turrets. This makes the zerg focus on your main with his mutas and you can avoid the ramp and just protect your rax's and main minerals with your MnM.

Don't skimp on the turrets if your having trouble with mutas either. The more the better at low/medium level.
You could also a different build, I can't watch the rep now so I don't know what build you did, but 4 rax is good against mutas as you have lots of marines fast, or 3 rax before factory if you went for the 2 rax into factory build.

Hey, maybe my first useful contribution onto Teamliquid. If 3 hatch mutas are giving u some trouble, you may want to try using theAyumi Build. It is a 4 barracks timing attack that hits the zerg right as mutas or lurkers are popping if they go 3 Hatchery. It is a little more difficult on Destination due to the bridges, but it is still doable.

It starts as a 1 rax fast expand and if you scout them going 3 hatch, it's easy to hide and transition into. If they are two hatching, you should transition out of the build because it loses it's timing.
