soo as usual i was failing at z v p, but this time was sorta special. so i had an early game advantage(sorta) and beat back the protoss's first push and had map control. so after i took 1-3 groups of hydras and camped outside of the protoss's base, and i completely locked him in. i didnt bother going in cause i saw with 2 hydra scouts that he massed cannons and thought that i would just starve him out. i expoed, and then saw him expanding to the min only at the back. I was thinking of going and breaking it, but i didnt want to lose my contain on him, so i ddint. i thought with my other mass expantions it doesnt matter. apparently not as he wetn straight to a bisu build right about when i switch to ultra-ling. he raped the shti out of all my overlords, dark templar killing all my expos and i ended up jsut leaving cause it was a long game and i wanted to eat :D. but how would u deal with this?
i think i lost cause i let him expo at the back -.-;;

| scourge and if its bad +1 air armor. I didn't see you build any anti-air units when he go those sairs. You also should have done a big drop on him you could have killed him that game so easily. |

that sort of attitude "oh games too long, i want to go eat" will take you nowhere
get a better mindset and when you know you have more expansions then him... theres no reason not to sacrifice units for units or even mass hydra drop ...
if you give the protoss time, his gonna demolish you ... you have to hassle the fck out of him

| There's no point in switching to Ultraling if you aren't going to abuse its mobility. The power of ultraling/defiler is its mobility compared to hydralurk. Keep the lurkers and add swarm + cracklings to get a really painful force to stop. If you do get ultras, get a few as meat shields, but don't go crazy with them. |

Since you already have a late game economy, just pump out some hydras next time this happens. His heavy investment in sair/dt instead of zeal/goon/temp means that your hydras will walk all over him.
Edit: I love your use of the term bisu build to describe a late game tech switch. Maybe next we can turn it into a verb. e.g. "As soon as you get your third base running, just bisu build that zerg!"Last edit: 2009-11-07 11:27:43 |

What the fuck is a late game bisu build ?

| when I saw the title I started lol'ing really hard ;D. Basically don't let protoss take 3rd for free, especially when you can take it out that easy. You don't have to move your whole army to kill the nexus, even 3 hydras is enough. I also assume you didn't scouted him, next time try doing that... |

regarding the OP: If the P goes for a massive tech switch into sair / dt late game you shouldn't have a problem really. Ovie speed should be upgraded and spire/den should be done so pop some scourge and hydras and chase the ovies away. If there are 10+ sairs (ridiculously hard to get rid of) its a good idea to switch your army composition to mostly hydras again. Keep your ovies in the middle bulk of your army. |
