Well she springs on me that she "has to" go to work at her second job, even though it's her day off. I politely asked her to call in sick so we could do what we need, but she just flat out REFUSES. It was the EXACT same situation as two weeks ago when I wanted to get concert tickets. I told her like WEEKS ahead that I needed to be there at a certain time or else it would be sold out, and the day before she tells me that she has to work.
I'm sure she could have called in sick if she really wanted to help me, but instead, she chose to go to work??
She chose WORK over ME.
I think, in actuality, she resents me. She knows I'm smarter than her and her family, and she HATES that I'm going to get my degree (in Psych) from a big university while she's stuck working two shit jobs. Like it's MY fault she can't speak english and get a good job??
Am I supposed to feel ashamed for being smarter than her? Most of my college friends agree that my mom is INSANELY annoying and selfish. Stupid bitch.
So we got into a huge arguement about it and now she wont pay for the video card, it's SO fucking annoying. She left for work, not before I told her to enjoy her shitty job, because when shes paying back the bank for the next 20 years she'll regret doing all this stupid shit when I'm rich.
I can't wait for when I graduate. I'm going to find my own place where I can do whatever I want and not have to deal with her.
edit: Don't call me fucking spoiled. You don't even KNOW me or what i've been through.
I do shit for her ALL THE TIME. I take out the trash, I walk the dog, and if she asks I'll help her clean off the dinner table too. There are literally HUNDREDS of other things too, and she can't even take me to get a fucking video card? It's so ridiculous.
edit2: I can't ask my dad to drive me becuase my parents got divorced when i was little. And none of my friends will drive me.

I don't know your situation and I don't know how old you are but raising you musn't have been that easy either.
Also if you're old enough and you work you can probably taxi your way there no? You need to take a deep breath and refocus, I have a feeling you have to vent a little more, but remember she's still your mother. |

Lol watch out, maybe your mother reads your blogs like motbobs.
But really, you provide too little info for people to feel sympathetic. I doubt most parents would skip work for their child's needs, especially for a video card. You also appear to be quite condescending towards your mother and her intelligence. I personally generally respect more intelligent people to a greater degree, but wow, this is your own mother. Also you have to understand your parents nor the majority of people's parents here grew up with said technology, so they don't grasp how important it is to you. They lived just fine without video cards, why can't you for one day? You should really calm down about this though, clearly there are other underlying issues between you and your mom that need to be resolved. |

dad walks in the door coming home from work today, i yell "HI DAD" from my room, i assume he doesn't hear me. i hear him fix himself a nice vodka & sprite and he gets hammered as usual. he meanders upstairs and after a short greeting he tells me he heard me yell down. is that so? i didn't exactly hold the door open for him, but he was pretty focused on that drink apparently, taking it before returning my greeting with a mixture of slurs and awkwardness... ive gotten nothing for xmas but the pleasure of opening gifts from everyone but my father for years in a row now, next to him while he's drunk ofc.
that being said, neither of us have it that bad. so relax and wait for your hard earned independence(i assume that you're earning completely by yourself, amirite?) so you can enjoy it like i plan to as well..

You're a spoiled, piece of shit for saying that about someone who is breaking their back so that you will have the opportunity to go to college and be successful. Honestly, have you no shame? How can you say that about your own mother. Your mother that took a huge risk coming to this country for one fucking reason, so that you might be able to live a better life than she did. Think about that. She is sacrificing her life, for you. How can you act the way you do? My parents ran from Communist Poland to America just so that me and my brother and sister may get a better education, better job, and a better life than what they had. Don't tell me that I don't know "what you've been through". Our family has lived through complete and utter shit but we stuck together and made sacrifices that now have allowed my brother and sister both to go to medical school and myself to go to one of the best Universities in the world.
