Five months ago, Blizzard had a conference call, and the bad news hit us. No beta in 2009. It's time for another conference call, will we be getting good news this time?
On Wednesday the 10th of February Blizzard releases their 2009 results calendar and will also hold a conference call that will be broadcast over the Internet.
Last year on August the fifth we got the bad news that the beta would not see the day of light because of the development of the new Battle.net platform, and it had been pushed to the first half of 2010.
In hopes for new announcements, the expectations are of course sky-high, this could be the day that Blizzard announces the beta date, and maybe a release date for Starcraft 2. It's still speculations if they will announce anything, but this is in fact broadcast over the Internet.

There is more. Spychi from SCL says that he has a source that says beta will start before the end of Febuary. Spychi runs a European fansite.

Yeah lots of us have heard rumblings but i still doubt that an announcement is going to be made during a financial conference call. After all of this do you really think they are going to go

As true as it is considering the scope of Starcrafts fan base I could see them letting investors know that they plan on keeping media attention on the company due to the pending beta start date. Media attention is a good thing, investors like it when its good, so it would be feasible to think it may be mentioned

I don't think we can expect much from this unless something has been delayed.
If the beta is already out by then they'll say "With the recent release of the SC2 beta we are on track for a second quarter release" and move on.
If the beta isn't out they'll say "Starcraft 2 is still on track for a second quarter release with the beta coming soon."
These conferences usually aren't for us  |
