That's not from the sc2 editor, it's from warcraft 3. I actually have that drone model; it's from hive workshop, iirc.
Also note the lack of normal/bump mapping, specular, and bloom.
Also note how he conveniently blanked out most of the wc3 UI elements - except the animation buttons, which also conveniently resemble wc3 exactly.
The shadows are also a clear give-away - they are the typical texture-generated flat shadows from wc3 and not dynamic shadows that sc2 has.

This is it guys, conference is only 6 days away and there can be only 2 options
a) beta date is announced maybe even beta is released day before or couple of days after conference
b) conference ends without any new beta info, insted they give us usual bs reply like "team is working very hard on beta final touches bla bla bla " which means no beta in February so community speculation moves forward to March

| Highly unlikely they release sc2 beta the day of the conference. I suspect you'll see bnet 2.0 and then sometime after sc2 beta. |

I bet this. I doubt the conference call is going to have beta release info. The only info regarding beta they will be giving to the shareholders is "we are on plan in 2010, that is beta in Q2 and release in Q3".

there was an update on the SC2 release window on every previous AB earnings call so we will have news.
but we don't know if it will be bad or good
If Morhaime will confirm the last target date(first half of 2010) than the beta will have to start in a few days. |

According to a post from SAwful, some guy thinks he has insider info that the beta is due out on the 12th, which could make sense, since their conference call is on the 10th.

At this point, SC1 is so figured out that mechanical skill is usually the decider rather than any strategic choices (generally). Plus its 11 years old and we've all been waiting for the new one.
I mean, you have your people who yell "WC3 IN SPACE" and "OH MAN AN INTERFACE THAT ISN'T HOPELESSLY OUTDATED, NOW THE GAME TAKES NO SKILL", but these people are a very small minority |
