Introduction
This thread helps the hosts keep track of banned players for the mafia games. People get added to this list by breaking the rules of the mafia game they were playing in, usually by going inactive.
Consequences of being on the Ban List
Hosts can choose to follow the Ban List or not at their own discretion. If they are following the Ban List, then players who are listed as banned will not be allowed to sign up for that game.
Punishments
There are three categories of punishments: semi-permanent bans, punishments following the Banned Game Count, and warnings.
Semi-permanent bans happen after especially egregious actions in games, such as threatening to ruin the game. Expect these punishments to last months if not years. If you get removed from this, your Banned Game Count will be artificially inflated.
The Banned Game Count applies to most modkills (including modkills for inactivity) and is calculated as follows: 2N - 1 where N = the number of times you have been banned. So the first time you get banned, your count is 1. The second time, your Count is 3. If you are modkilled for going inactive in 2 games at once, your Banned Game Count will be calculated as if you were modkilled in one game, but you will receive a warning upon being taken off the Ban List . We reserve the right to artificially inflate your Banned Game Count based upon conduct not meriting a semi-permanent ban, but also not meriting a standard ban.
Warnings are generally given out if the host is trying to be nice, or your conduct doesn't quite meet what they think is ban-worthy. Each warning you get adds 1 to your Banned Game Count the next time you are banned. Generally hosts are less likely to give you leniency if you already have a warning.
How to get removed from the Ban List
If you are semi-permanently banned, post here and your ban will be discussed.
If you are not semi-permanently banned, you must sit out a number of games equal to your Banned Game Count. You may sit out any game which is hosted on this forum unless the host of that game says otherwise (which usually happens in games which are over very quickly). Not playing in a game is not the same as sitting it out.
To sit out a game, you must do these two things during the signups of that game (assuming you are not currently sitting out a different game and the game in which you were banned has finished):
1. PM the host of the game you are sitting out saying you are sitting out that game.
2. Post here that you are sitting out that game.
If you cannot point me to a post or PM clearly stating "I am sitting out XYZ Mafia," you are not sitting out that game.
I will note that you are sitting out that game once it starts. At the end of that game, your Banned Game Count will be reduced by 1 and you will be removed if if is 0. You cannot sit out two games which run concurrently. Your name will be added to the "People taken off the list" category so I can keep track of you in case you are banned again in the future. You cannot play in other games which follow the Ban List until the last game in which you are sitting out has finished.
Old bans
The Old Bans section contains bans from games over a year ago. If you are on this list and want to play, post here and we will discuss it. Hosts, don't worry about this section unless one of those players pops up or Mig or I PM you about it.
What to do if you have a problem with your ban
First talk to the moderator who modkilled you and asked for a ban in the first place. Try to explain to them why the punishment is incorrect in your situation. If that does not work, post the situation here. I will not make decisions about bans by other hosts via PM. Anyone can give their opinion in these situations, but only people who have hosted or actively cohosted in 2 games may vote. The host of the game and the cohost of the game's votes count for 1.5 of a vote.
What to do if there is a mistake on the list
If I forget to update that you are sitting out a game or if I forget to remove you from the list, or if I make any other mistake regarding this list, please send me a PM or post here and I will fix the situation as soon as possible. My apologies in advance if this happens.
My role
I am a horse. All I do is keep track of the collective decisions of the mafia forum members in general and the hosts of the game in particular. This is an open environment moderation-wise. I will post my opinions on most issues, but what I say is not the final word. Feel free to chime in and give your opinion. Please do not PM me if you have a problem with a ban. Please post your problem here so everyone can discuss it.
Mig
There are times when I am too busy or too involved in the situation to resolve a ban quickly. If Mig is not too involved in the situation, he will moderate the discussion about the modkill instead of me. I will just record the ban based upon his decision. Alternatively, you may ask for Mig to moderate the discussion instead of me if you would rather have him do it.
Rules for this thread
If you are not a host or cohost, please do not request bans for anyone without PMing me first.
If the ban is not a standard inactivity modkill, do not ask me to unilaterally make a decision as to punishment. I will not do it. If you ask repeatedly, I will give you a ban list ban.
If I tell you to stop discussing a topic in a ban discussion, you drop it. I don't care what your opinion on the relevance of the subject is, you drop it. Similarly, if I tell you to stop spamming the ban list thread, you stop.
Personal attacks towards me during ban list discussions are unacceptable. I know you are angry at what is going on, but that doesn't mean you can insult me. I will consult with Mig, and if he both agrees that what you said was over the line, you get a ban list ban. Don't persist--I have friends in high places.
Final note
The host of your game has the first say on what happens in your game. If you have a problem with how your game is being run or how another player is treating you in that game, talk to the host first. You should only come here if you cannot resolve the situation by talking to the host of your game.

That's funny.
You can speculate all you want, but I never directly asked anyone who they were. Like I said, I wasn't playing with you then you had absolutely no idea what was going on. For instance, in Caller's game Ver and I were exchanging PMs from day one and the circumstances were totally situational. ^_^
It's a compliment in many ways, so it's no biggie. Considering how bad some players are at detecting tells and sleuthing plus their inactivity and not voting on time (lmao), I personally don't care.

If only you guys weren’t picking at each other’s throats you would have figured us out easily through basic clue interpretation all along even if it was unintentional. Yes many red herrings actually led indirectly to us whether it was intended or not.
FYI Qatol was going to call the game anyway if two townies died during this DL. Simple right? We’ve been playing various circles all along and yet 3 of our mafia members were AFK for more than 3 hours before the final vote. MBH appeared online for two seconds around 10:14, but then mysteriously disappeared. Vivi57 came online at 10:31 without even casting a single vote and he knew he was on the block. Scamp said he would be on around one hour before voting closed and he’s nowhere to be found.
The final vote count was:
0cz: 9
Vivi: 8
Tricode: 8
MTF was right all along. The Mafia had the vote all along and somehow we miraculously fuck it all up. Sound familiar? Fuck, I don’t know where to begin with all you guys.
Anyway, GG. I’m definitely not playing a game of Mafia for a while.
Award time:
Town MVP: 0cz – yeah you should have listened to him sooner. Just because he pissed you off one game doesn’t mean he isn’t smart.
Clue Rape: MTF – this guy nailed a lot of us, regardless of red herring or not.
Town’s WORST PLAYER: Collective whole. There is a reason why Qatol and LTT wanted to end this game abruptly and I never knew it would be me closing it. LMAO.
Mafia MVP: Even though MBH was MIA (yet he showed up for around ten seconds, LOL) I have to give it to him. Yes, this guy is as good as they say. He found almost all the blues out by day 2. Not only that, the son of a bitch took out one of his own to protect himself. He’s red baby. And I like it.
Runner Up: Caller – I knew he would give himself up eventually because he doesn’t know how to shut the fuck up. He even blatantly gave me away with his Puppet Master pic.
Worst Mafia: Vivi57 and Scamp – 10:31 and you don’t even think to vote until then? We had this in the bag and it took three of you to be inactive. Yes, it is MBH fault too. -_-
Anyway, I will EDIT this in the morning. My GF just got back from a trip to Montreal.

And yes, that game was still winnable. I did the math. I believe it was something like as long as they got BC lynched within the next 2 days and the town missed 1 lynch over the course of the rest of the game or some of the voters went inactive, the mafia could still win with otherwise 100% perfect lynches.
But the thing I find the most inexcusable is him insulting the host when all Pyrr was doing was following the rules set out in the OP.

Well excuuuuuuse me princess for following the rules that I put together with the help of the half the fucking town. Nobody was advocating for more than 2 days of missed votes before a modkill (I raised it from one). Everybody wanted a strict timeline unless people gave me a good excuse in advance. I thank you for being interested in my game and giving a good effort when so many just blew me off after signing up. I don't know why everyone got bored with this game. One person said they didn't know the game had started four days after it had. Another said he had no idea what to do so he would just do anything. Another said he was losing internet for the next few months; not sure what I'm supposed to do about that.

I'd also like to say that I personally didn't vote either way as far as unbanning him. I only asked the opinions of other former hosts/ experienced players. However, when the answer came back completely unanimous that he should be banned for at least the next 2-3 games, it wasn't exactly a hard decision to leave him on the list. |

Qatol, if I recall correctly it was you and LTT who wanted the game over as well, so I wouldn't use that card if I were you. Besides that, you were going to call the game anyway if and only if my team managed to swing the vote. They had several hours to do this and they failed to comply. We didn't have activity problems until that moment and it was only fitting to give it to the Town.
Now let's get something else straight:
I get why Inf. would be bitter. He made a great pawn. I understand why he cannot sleep at night over it, hence his resentment. You got played brother. Move on.
As for your last comment. I’m not the one who comes up with these silly ideas for games. If the hosts are going to add silly roles to make their games different, good for them. But, like I said to everyone I ever played with. I will exploit them to gain my side an advantage and usually I will ask the admins prior to proceeding including you Qatol. The game I was GF I basically told you my every move. As for pry, he can go fuck himself because from what I recall he's a tool.
The biggest problem with most of the games here is activity. When I play I'm right up there with the most active. I do a lot behind the scenes and if you don't like being called out then tough.

How did I take "everything out of context?" I agree you had a bunch of posts complaining about inactivity in the smurf game, but I specifically put in that quote from layoffrage in order to give those quotes context. Try reading the last day or 2 of the smurf game. It basically consists of you either A) complaining about inactivity, B) flaming, or C) bragging.

Either way, I'm done with this. I've explained why you were banned, and you obviously don't feel bad at all about the worst reason in my view (flaming the host), so I have no problem sticking with the consensus and keeping you on this list. In addition, if I recall correctly you said something like, "I cannot believe how bad everyone is playing." You lost interest hosting yourself and I wanted to relieve you of your duties. I don't remember how many Townies were left. It was all in good fun.
Pry shouldn't be hosting anything I'm afraid. The only thing I can remember from that game is his idiocy.
You guys should keep it simple. The mini mafia games work, the other games unfortunately don't. The biggest problem you guys face playing mafia on TL right now is activity. It's almost impossible for everyone to hang around for a month and take an active role.

As much as I hate Showtime at times (he's still pretty bad) I agree that MM type games (small games) are the way to go.
Too bad he's banned so I can't play against him and mindfuck him :/ |

Yes, I'm a bad boy Ace and I need a spanking. It's at the discretion of the host. I'm sure a few people would let me in their games, but I don't plan on playing any Mafia games here anytime soon.
Me signing up for Incog's game was a stretch. A few people have been hounding me to come back, but I just don't have the time to.
Anyway, I don't see how you could comment on my play style when I've only played with you once and that was to get my feet warm (being the sacrificial lamb was fun).
