See OSL/MSL. I would rather see players having a while to prepare for their next opponent and really have some quality builds in store. With this prize pool it's a lot better than those day-long tournaments where it's just one round after another. This isn't Brood War where a game changing patch could be 7 days away. This is BETA SC2 where at any point Blizzard could change anything they feel that needs to be changed. If SC2 was released and balance had been thoroughly fleshed out I'd have no problems with a tournament lasting YEARS. That isn't the case though. Now just for example Idra(who I'm no fan of) has what, 3-4 days max to prepare for his match against Nony with the change to roaches? How is that remotely fair or provides the chance for quality builds? Hell next week Blizzard could say they went to far and revert the change. I'm sure others have also been affected in tournaments that have ran longer than 2 weeks in this beta. Time is not your friend in a beta. What would happen if beta ended in the middle of the tourney? So what can be done? Since HD and Husky prefer doing VOD's anyways, they just have to select the players they want and let them know not to talk about the tourney. Just get the matches done ASAP and get the replays. After the Tourney has a winner then announce the player list and start releasing the VOD's either every 2 days or whenever you want. Point is getting it done as fast as possible, you can release and tease the results however you want. I like what they're doing and feel they just need to improve upon this aspect of it because patches will continue into release and the possibilities of advantages/disadvantages changing from week to week will always be there. Just get it done ASAP so at least everyone plays with the rules of ONE patch and not three or four. The competitors knew this going into the event, and I'm sure they'd rather an event with the possibility of big patch changes compared to no event at all. It's a bit of fun, and they'll just have to take patch changes as they come.
Those two options weren't/aren't the only ones available. Again the matches could have all been played in a week or two to lessen the factor of "rules" changing. The results didn't have to be released till whenever HD/Husky felt like it, which is what they've been doing anyways. I just hope they and others learn from this since that's the only thing that could be achieved at this point.

Since I dont have a beta key yet I really appreciate this tournement by HDH! It really makes the time pass faster untill the release date (but also more painful ^^). I dont understand all the whining about the organization of this great tournment with the most awesome sc2 games ever played (for example the first 2 matches of TLO vs WhiteRa and the last one where TLO got Protoss 3rd time in a row and i was like WTF!). Although the idea of "life streaming" comes along with some complications and whining it is a great idea. It adds so much tension to the whole tournament. As well this forum is very nice and its a good base to discuss the tournament. I followed the tournament and this thread since the beginning. As a conclusion I just have to say: Keep up the great work HDH and team liquid!!!

Yeah, was just going to check is there any posts about it. Well, lets see how IdrA manages to do against nony now, if he really is playing Protoss.

Zerg is going to demolish. Fields doesn't care if roaches cost 5 supply, he'll still come out with a win.
WAR IDRA
Better be joking about pvp... T.T

Since we're talking about HDH here, the match was probably played already. Anyway, IdrA got hit big time with the roach nerf ... I always enjoyed how fast he massed them. Blizzard promised some changes/buffs on other zerg units, but until then zergs will have a hard time in patch 12.

Not sure i think he can announce a different race should he advance to the finals ?

i think he was mocking TheLittleOne

Nony said he was playing IdrA today at 930pm edt on the state of the game podcast, so it kinda sucks we have to wait 2 full days to actually watch the match.
Oh well, should be some interesting games.

Most of you have probably already have downloaded IRIP by now.
For those who havent: DO IT. It's so freaking easy to just google it go on the site and d/l the app even tho you do not have an apple device. Probably the most meaningful thing you can do right now to promote e-sport and it's so damn easy and fast to do. Everybody should just click it and help other compagnies recognize SC2 as a potential way to make profit in the future.
Playing the game, talking about it is great! but this world runs with money so if you want your favorite game to be huge you gotta support those with the money supporting the game. As simple as that. It is also true for other sponsors to come!
I want this game to be huge

Great timing, much love from Europe! I'm pretty curious about how the patch changes will affect the games!
