GosuCoaching.com and Hevad are proud to present Showdown, sponsored by Hevad Khan - a weekly showmatch between top European and top American gamers each fighting for $150! Our first showmatch will be a real treat, featuring a former foreign pro gamer in Korea, and a current foreign pro outside of Korea! The players are none other than Brian "Assem" Fransioli and Alexey "White-Ra" Krupnyk
About the players:
Assem
The only non Korean to ever acquire his pro-gaming license by winning the courage tournament, Assem was a progamer for about three years, from 2003 to 2006, playing for Hexatron aka eNature along with Rekrul and Legionnaire. He is a WCG USA silver medalist, placed 2nd in TLT 2, and for about a year was dominant in the foreign scene before leaving Korea. Assem briefly returned to Starcraft playing for team Pandemic, and now is experimenting with Random in Starcraft 2.
White-Ra
"The beast from the East" has been dominant for many years, winner of the Highlander tournament and the JustinTV Invitational... White-Ra also was a participant in ESWC and defeated Boxer at IEF (along with G5). Since 2007 White-Ra truly has been a beast. White-Ra has carried his dominance over to Starcraft 2, winning the TL Invitational for SC2 along with some ESL Cups. His strong play has made him quite a feared opponent in the scene.
The Format
The format will be a best of 9, each player has eliminated one map (Kulas Ravine, and Metalopolis). The first player to 5 wins will take home the prize of $150 and live to fight another day. This will be a weekly event pitting a European against an American. For example, if White-Ra wins this week - another American will face him next week. If Assem wins this week, another European will face him the following week.
Map Order
1. Lost Temple 2. Scrap Station 3. Steppes of War 4. Blistering Sands 5. Desert Oasis 6. Lost Temple 7. Scrap Station 8. Steppes of War 9. Blistering Sands
When & Where
The event will take place Saturday April 24th at 4pm EST (22 CET for Europeans)! It will be played on the US Server.
Casting
Official broadcast will be done by GosuCoaching's own Rise, one of the most well known casters outside of Korea!
Check GosuCoaching for more information on tournaments, coaching, and events!

Am I right to assume that "American" means anyone who would call the NA server home (i.e. north/south america, oceania, etc)?

Stop stealing ITL terminology. We had a Showdown on Sunday Jk. This actually looks amazingly epic and I'll be sure to tune in. I'm loving all the stuff you guys come up with.

cannot fucking wait. Assem plays such a fun style as does whitera

if all games are played on the US server there won't be many european winners. Why don't you let them play at least 4 games on Europe?
