@Djzapz & Captain Peabody Most TL liquid people didn't believe match fixing before this. No amount of deductive reasoning with them would convince them. But as soon as an offical channel says so, it becomes the truth, without any independant research by the individual. So no, I can't help you. But you might want to prepare a load of excuses for yourself, to preserve your reality as this plan proceeds. More pro-BW scandals over next few months, so be ready.

i believed it all along .. read any of my posts from the very first thread, but i hear you i got a lot of flack for believing it
especially savior i never liked that douche , but so many here literally have altars set up in there bedroom they pray to twice a day
lying to his coach swearing innocence .. the entire time screwing his teammates over ... from badly needed bonuses .. and stealing replays .. and the entire time he is the highest paid player in e-sports history ..........i mean just lower than low

Another prominent figure was a popular professional gamer surnamed Ma, 22, dubbed “the Maestro,” who, according to prosecutors, told two fellow gamers surnamed Jin, 21, and Park, 22, to lose a tournament on Jan. 19th and received money for doing so. That StarCraft tournament was broadcast live on TV, and the commentator said: “Today’s game seems a bit strange. Why didn’t you [Park] attack when you had the chance?”

I don't know if anyone is really standing up for Savior at this point but, barring the rope (relax man) I agree with you: I cannot imagine the hurt of his young teammates and other progamers who, for all we know, joined Esports because they believed in players like Savior, believed he could make it into a true and respectable sport.
No, wanting more money is not an excuse. It excuses many things, but not the betrayal of your fans and coaches and teammates and friends and young progamers and would be progamers who draw inspiration from you.
That said...lets not speak out from hurt and start the lynching talk. I think all people are saying is that as messed up as Savior is, he's hardly the worst kind of human being. He is, however, a pathetic shadow of his former self, and an insult to his own legacy.

The whole thing is so retarded that I am left speechless.
And sorry, but although I feel sorry for him, Savior is a moron. Risking infamy, prison, and any kind of future in esport for a couple thousand dollars for buying some vulgar nouveau-riche Gucci shit, that's so immature that it's almost funny.
Now what the fuck is he gonna do? No future in esport whatsoever, cannot even exploit his reputation. He will probably lose his saving with a huuuge fine if he is luky enough not to go to jail (at worse both).
So what for Ma Jae Yoon? He is gonna do his military outside Ace and then? KFC? Starbucks?
That's really saddening how people can be silly.
Beware of the dreams of others, because if you are caught in their dream, you are screwed. Dreams are terrifying will to power. ~Gilles Deleuze
I would still like to hear Savior's explenation. Not that there is really anything he can say to rationalize his behavior and make people feel compassion towards him, but there's got to be more to it than "I wanted money". It likely started small somehow and snowballed, could be interesting.

I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

Hi guys, you know match fixing in pro BW has been going on for years. No suprise to me. So why now with the scandals? Blizzard are wanting to promote SC2. BW is a great userbase for SC2 sales, but it's also a stumbling block for conservatives that want to stay BW ( me included! ) . This is the 1st in a series of scandals that'll be hitting pro-BW over the next year or so. The idea of course is to diminish the credibilty of BW wrt to korean media and thus all BW media. Character assasination. After reducing the pro-BW korean to a mess with scandals and other tricks, blizzard will step in with refurb grants on the condition that they all shift to SC2. Bastards. Nothing we can do. Even a 100% unified TL member embargo on SC2 would not discourage blizzard from this course of action. The BW community is going to be forcably converted to SC2.
Scene: Mike Morhaime's office, a darkened room covered in Blizzard memorabilia. Mike Morhaime sits behind his desk, stroking a cat.
Dustin Browder enters the room, and silently kneels before him.
Dustin: What is thy bidding, my master?
Morhaime: There is a great disturbance in the fanbase.
Dustin: I have felt it, my master.
Morhaime: Many of the e-sports fans are not switching over to SC2. They believe the Korean BroodWar leagues are more competitive and...fun to watch. (Morhaime sneers)
Dustin: But Kespa is just a small organization. Boxer can no longer help them...
Morhaime: They could severely lessen our sales. Already, they have succeeded in getting SC2 rated Adults Only in Korea. If they continue to oppose us, the damage would be great.
Dustin: But...if Kespa could be turned, they would be a powerful ally...
Morhaime: Yes...yes...but can it be done? We have negotiated with them for three years, and still they refuse to bow to our whims.
Dustin: If they cannot be turned...they will be destroyed.
Morhaime: Yes...but how? Our greatest legal and parapsychological pressure has been ineffective against them.
Dustin: Through Blizzard Korea and my contacts in the Illuminati, I have acquired certain information concerning the Korean progamers and proteams. Information about match-fixing scandals, involving the top echelon of players in Korea...including sAviOr himself.
Morhaime: Excellent! This information that could severely damage Kespa. I will travel to Korea immediately, and begin spreading this information among the Korean e-sports media. Kespa will be utterly destroyed!
Dustin: But what if they survive?
Morhaime: Do not worry, my servant. Through my contacts in the International Jesuit Conspiracy, I have acquired even more damaging information than this. If they will not bow to us, then they will find themselves shaken by scandal after scandal, until nothing at all remains of them but dust and ashes. And then, once Kespa is gone, we will step in, and take over all of e-sports. Starcraft 2's ascendancy will be assured!
Dustin: But what if some of the fans discover what we're doing? What if they connect us to the scandal?
Morhaime: That is unlikely. But even if they do, even if all of the foreign e-sports fans rebel against us...Kespa will fall, and there is nothing they can do to stop us. Mwa ha ha ha ha! (Morhaime subsides into maniacal laughter)
Dustin: So be it, my master.
Dustin rises to his feet, and exits the office.
Mike Morhaime stands up slowly, and whispers an incantation over his cat. The cat transforms into a massive wing-ed HELLBEAST, which Morhaime leaps upon and rides off in the direction of Korea, cackling madly.
Was this about what you had in mind?
yes, except their plan will backfire! BW will outlive sc2!!!!!!!111!
and like i keep on saying, and even though i'm a Z player, i always DID feel a dark aura about him, even in 06. and even though at the beginning i hated him for coming out of nowhere and defeating nada, boxer, oov, midas seemingly effortlessly, i was one of the many people who eventually became captivated by his unchallenged march to the throne. i guess this whole thing doesn't really affect my fanboyism, since i knew he was evil from the very start. in fact all this new evidence about just exactly how devious he really is might just end up strengthening my captivation and fascination of sAviOr

- Ongamenet fired the "leader" of Sparkyz, Kwak Jae Gun. (It looks like he's just someone in charge) - There has been inside punishment of various employees of the management - Coach and the Coaching staff will be charged due to their responsibility - Starting Tuesday (Today), Sparkyz will be playing without their coach and leader.

looking at hite's coaching staff, they will probably play better with just Leta in charge.

You are indeed very respectful Z but...didn't you say that you were playing devils advocate? That usually implies that you're defending someone simply because everyone else is against him.
By that term, do you mean instead that you feel someone is being vilified without just cause and you are moved to defend them because of their many, many detractors?
Basically, I guess I'm asking if you believe Savior is being done an injustice?
As I said in an earlier post, I misused the term "devil's advocate", believing it meant something it doesn't. And yes, I believe Savior is being done an injustice. There is a torrent of emotion and pack mentality going on in this thread against him, pushing the hatred towards him out of proportion. Of course he deserves a lot of heat for doing what he did- but he still did provide a lot of entertainment and excitement in the past. I believe Savior should still be thanked for all the good he did, back when he was the mover of many people's dreams and hopes- just as he should justly be damned for all the harm he's done with the match-fixing scandal.
He may have broken your heart, but he is a man, not a monster. If I had been his fan, I would wish him punishment in the form of justice for his crimes, but I would also wish for him to draw the correct lessons from this experience, and the best of luck in his future endeavors.
