Players will want to interact with their nonexistant facebook friends that play starcraft rather than a group of players that share the same interest. We feel that's what the players want. Last edit: 2010-05-29 05:08:30 |

| I was thinking about not buying it immediately anyway (seeing how as I'm basically unemployed and stuff). The more I here and see with battle.net 2.0/0.2/666/0.5/whatever the more I'm thinking about not buying it at all. |

Hm, i really am starting to hope for a iccish pirate bnet where u can play cause bnet2 is lacking what i find highly important such as
- chatchannels with proper shortcuts like /w randomguy2 - proper custom game creation with passwords to make it simple to create games and let your tournament opponent know where to go instead of this never ending process of adding identifier/emails to your fl. - LAN, not personally for me but most LANs i know of ve really bad internet which aint stable at all or is slow as shit and u wanna ve a lot of people play with that condition? cant be serious.
What i dont understand is why blizzard is not able to create a realm to play for everyone. On ICCUP i was able to play koreans, americans. that shows me that its possible. |

| Gotta love how in the video interview they edited out lots of negative points of battle.net 2 but at least this guy is being honest, they should put Dustin Browder to do all the interviews since hes is so good at dodging questions and answers while speaking how great Battlenet 2 is. |

Nope. No plans for specific chat rooms at this time. You'll be able to open up chats direct with your friends, and when we add clans and groups there'll be chats for your clans and groups, but no specific plans for chat rooms right now. Do you really want chat rooms?
Loads of people within the community are wanting Looking For Group chat rooms, and that sort of thing.
Well, if we've done our job right in terms of the matchmaking service, then hopefully they won't feel like they'll need it for that service.
I.hate.you.so.much.
Exactly how I felt as well. I don't even see how matchmaking can mitigate the lack of community integration on 2.0. They are completely unrelated. Not really sure what the hell Blizz is doing, but its starting to stink.
On terms of the ladder / matchmaking, if they want to keep the division / league system, at least have it such that the divisions are ordered in terms of skill. Having ambiguous divisions with semi-ambiguous ratings is not how sports / e-sports work. |

My concern is that even if that happens, with Blizzard's current aggressive strategy towards protecting its IP, such a service might not last very long. |

I think the results of their view on the community is largely our fault. On facebook Blizzard has their polls on what the community wants. We should have followed them on facebook. (Joking) |

This is it, how can they not mention there most loyal and biggest customer ? the reason most of us are here.
you can practical hear the dollar signs "well if just x% of Chinese buy it I get a yaught!"
Scarily puts the Kespa/Gom fiasco into perspective, it almost like Blizz just wants to show they'll defend their IP so no one else takes a bite, 'who cares if they destroy the S. Korean market ? they've got China !' |

People are seriously overreacting. Was he rather flippant in the interview? Yes.
But when he rhetorically asked "Do you really want chat rooms?" I answered "sort of." I want clan chat and private chat rooms, yes, because that would make things like organizing scrims, inhouses and tourneys easier. Do I really need public chat rooms for bots to spam? I can do without that.
And the EULA thing doesn't seem out of the ordinary at all. There's a ton of outrageous things in most EULAs/agreements; companies tend to cover their bases.
I don't know why people think Blizzard wants to take over the world or monitor your activity with SC2. If they really were such a company, they've already had the best venue in place to do that sort of thing: World of WarCraft.
Relax with the conspiracy theories, take a step back and keep things in perspective. |

I have been defending Blizzard everywhere I could...but this is the last straw. I'm in serious nerd rage. I hope KeSPA will do some ninja shit to screw up Blizzard's plans for Korea. From now on Bnet2.0==Hnet666. I'm gonna go chill out otherwise I'm gonna spam these forums and I love TL too much to do that.
Edit: Can someone tell me where do I have to send that e-mail so they will not show my private information?? Anyone?Last edit: 2010-05-29 05:17:04 |

What conspiracy theories are you talking about? We're pissed at the things he himself mentioned. I don't want to fucking play on a server where 90% of the people I face don't speak English and there's no chat rooms to chat with the 10% who do!!!!

| There needs to be a huge poll, with hundreds of thousands of votes with the simple question, "do you want chat channel?". When the results come back with 99% yes, it can be shoved in blizzard's face until they realise. If only it were possible. |
