I was a really big fan of Jon Favreau's indie films prior to directing Ironman like Swingers or Love and Sex, neither of which are porn movies.

One of my favorite obscure Hong Kong films is Fulltime Killer. Bit of a strange one though.

Office Space was pretty cool. I'm aware it's a bit popular for a cult classic, but i'm not too sure if anyone mentioned it.

Resevoir Dogs was quite a slow movie but it was well acted and also well written.

Many of the movies in this list I had already seen and were REALLY mainstream. Thanks posters for those *few* hidden gems, alot of the foreign films are really good and dont get much exposure. Thanks again! You added probably 30 movies I gotta find and watch!.

Can you read the title? They don't have to be hidden they can be surprisingly good.
God so many people have said these aren't hidden gems, but if they actually read the OP they would realize it doesn't have to be an unknown movie.

I'm going to do a prediction and say this film will be really good. Not sure if any of you are into this type of film though.

Edit - And to keep with the theme of the thread, has anyone seen Young People Fucking (YPF)? It's a film about the title, but it's really funny. I laughed a lot when I watched it.

aka The best of Youth. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0346336/.

A family drama of epic proportions. 6 hours long, covering long periods of Italian history from the 60s up to the time the movie was shot (2003).

It's not only a drama. It's also funny at times, exciting, romantic - one of those movies that tells a lesson about life.

The Rock

This is entertaining shit and well known in its time. Unfortunately loads of i people i meet don't know about it. I would also recomment "Tuesday" but someone's already done that.

I advice a korean movie called "귀" (Ghost). This movie is really stressful but the story is really nice. I really liked it, if you can watch it, you will enjoy!

Then you need to go watch american psycho, like right now. Christian Bale in that movie is just pure genius.
