I was just about to post this, and randomly clicked on a page to see if anyone had posted it before, and here it is LOL.

Definitely a must-see. The key to really loving this movie is realizing that it's not about the scifi, the special effects, or the action.

Thanks everyone for recommending movies. Some of them are really amazing.

Watching Sunshine was really ridiculous. Definitely epic moments, but also ridiculous moments. Watching Mr. Nobody was like that too. There's no word to describe it. Both movie's are just so deep and evoke so many emotions. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for more amazing films.

And is it possible for people to post a link, trailer, or description of the film they suggest? I love suggestions, but I have to search each one.

A real hidden gem by anyone's definition. Crispin Glover cameo is also a winner.

A hidden piece of shit more like it. Only watch if you enjoy watching movies where the gun scenes last for one shot and you don't enjoy movies with plot.

That is one sick movie, and I'm not sure I mean that in a positive way ^^ I'm guessing it takes a pretty disturbed mind to make something like this, and it just left me feeling... anoyed, bad, disgusted and disapointed. I guess it doesnt fail to evoke emotion tho, but I'd have to recommend people to not watch this ^^

I downloaded this movie out of curiosity. I wish I never had, I had problems eating for hours after watching it, had to give 30% of my dinner to the dogs. I would not recommend people watching this, although the movie is actually good. You have been warned, twice.

Martyrs is a good French horror, better than nearly all recent American horror. If you like it, I recommend High Tension, Frontier, and Inside (IMO the best French Horror).

El secreto de sus ojos (The secret in their eyes).

Winner of the Best Foreign Picture on the last Oscar edition.

This truly represents Argentinian movies. Ricardo Darin is an amazing actor.

You might want to see 9 Reinas (9 queens) too. they did an american remake of that film (The remake was AWFULL, but the Original movie was AMAZING). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247586/

Both movies are amazing and i was truly surprised after seeing them.

IMDB's one sentence plot reads

26 men are chosen to participate in the roles of guards and prisoners in a psychological study that ultimately spirals out of control.

I saw the earlier posts about Das Experiment, but since this is a separate movie I decided to post. The Experiment will probably give off more of a "Hollywood" vibe with its recognizable actors such as Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker.

I had never before heard of the Stanford Prison Experiment until after watching this movie and reading this thread. Both Stanford's actual experiment and this movie are interesting to say the least.

If you like danish movies like Adams Æbler and Nordkraft. You definitely want to check out Blinkende lygter or Flickering Lights.

Such a great movie about friendship and child trauma. Its a really funny movie as well, tho im not sure if you would get the movie when you dont know the language spoken. But if you liked the other danish movies that were recommended here you should definitely check this one out,

Best movie of 2008 by far though dwarfed by twilight's marketting so it couldn't really hit it big.

Edit: Oh and America is reproducing it......as "let me in"......the original is the best though. Very classy.

Good movie, just be sure not to watch it with the American subs, they're really bad.
Some examples why (possible spoilers) http://iconsoffright.com/news/2009/03/let_the_wrong_subtitles_in_to.html

I haven't seen the German movie, but I assume the two movies have identical plots.

Monster in a Box, featuring Spalding Gray.

Saw it in a class a few years ago, and was completely transfixed by Gray's words. It's a monologue film-- basically Spalding Gray sits there and weaves the tale of how he's been trying to write a book and why it never gets done.

He has another one called "Swimming to Cambodia" that is widely regarded as amazing, too, but I've not seen it so I can't testify.
I cannot stand ignorance or dismissiveness. I edit every post I make-- I've edited this sig three times in an hour.

I think it's only just come out. I've 'acquired' it, but yet to watch it. It sounds good though.

Does anyone know the movie about a bankrobbery?

I can't seem to find it.

The bankrobber is always a few steps ahead. Dressing all the hostages up as robbers - building a small "room" to hide in, with the loot, etc. Then once 7 days has past, they leave the bank together in a normal everyday, with all the money.

Anyone know what movie that is?
