it wasnt that bad, "worst movie ever" is overused. is it really worse than ice pirates or alone in the dark? no. i liked knowings visuals, pretty slick stuff. |

well, bad movie isnt really a genre.
but for starters, avoiding nicolas cage in all recent movies is a good start |

This was one of the best movies of 2012 I have seen. Though the plot made me a little skeptical at first before seeing the movie, I was blown away by the cinematography and suspense that the movie portrayed. Really shows the dark side to the whole idea of 'oh jeez I have superpowers now!' |

Man fuck that movie. My dad and I are fans of the comic it's supposedly from, and the movie has absolutely 0 thing to do with it, it's similar to Valhalla Rising in that nothing fucking happens, it pretends to be cool and atmospheric and you just end up wondering what the fuck you're watching. well, bad movie isnt really a genre. but for starters, avoiding nicolas cage in all recent movies is a good start
Nicholas Cage has his ups and downs. Lord of War and Adaptation for instance are both quite decent performances by him. Although maybe they aren't really recent.Last edit: 2012-05-30 16:04:07 |

The critical problem with Knowing is that the CG is so awful that you just go "pttf...no I'm not believing that".
People who say that Knowing is one of the worst movies they have ever seen just haven't watched enough truly boring or irredeemable movies. Its problem is that its just not awful or good enough to for me to remember it in 10 years time.

I don't know what it is about this movie, but it's just so simple and nice! Everyone should watch it once. Plus, Peter Dinklage is an amazing actor, for those Game of Throne fans who aren't familiar with his other work. This summary below is really accurate and gives a quick overview of why it's a great film.
"'The Station Agent' is a very simple but lovely quirky little film. There isn't much in terms of a plot but it works as a wonderful tone and mood piece and a brilliant study of three very likable and unique individuals and their friendship. As the audience it feels as though we are taking a glimpse into their lives and invited to be part of their experience. The cheerful background score adds to the quirkiness (without being intrusive). The screenplay is refreshing as it elegantly brings together the characters, the subtle light humour, the clever dialogues and one-liners. 'The Station Agent' is also visually pleasing, the simplistic natural green spacious settings, Olivia's lonely home, Fin's dark little one-roomed bedless stationhome and Joe's friendly van. The actors breathe life into their roles. All three of the principle cast members deliver very sincere and natural performances. Peter Dinklage acts in a very restrained manner allowing his silence to speak volumes. Bobby Cannavale is hilarious as the chatty Joe. Patricia Clarkson easily brings out the layers of Olivia and gives a strong performance. Michelle Williams holds her own. Overall, 'The Station Agent' is a delightful experience that draws smiles from the audience. An uplifting gentle little film."
