What do you think about the Spider-Man reboot coming 2012?
No real info about the film has surfaced, so I'm just asking what do you think about Spider-Man being redone?
Possible actors lined up to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man:
- Arron Johnson
- Jamie Bell
- Frank Dillane
What do you think about these people playing Peter?
Personally I don't think enough time has passed since the last film. Although it would of been 5 years, the film is still fresh in my memory. I'm sure these actors will do a good job in the role and the film will be good. But no matter how good these actors are, I will always associate Tobey Maguire as Peter.
I don't like the idea of a Reboot, at least so soon, but what about you? |

1. Would have been!
2. Tobey Maguire is dreadful and so is Kirsten Dunst
3. Special effects, costumes and the way they've shown the plot in the first 3 movies was craptastic
All in all, I'd love to see Spider-Man done as it should be, without crappy actors, costumes, special effects and pointless parts of the story.

feel so bad for Spiderman. 1st Movie, very good, got everyone's attention. 2nd Movie, amazing, stepped up a notch. 3rd movie had such high expectation, "omg they have venom in there + bigger budget than 2nd one, gonna be so kick ass.. ", and it failed hardcore.
Could a reboot be good? maybe, all i know is that I don't really care for it anymore. I'm sure there are many people who feel the same. |

Gah, another one?
It had better be damn good otherwise no one will want to pick up the series after this at all.
TBH though I thought the previous movies (esp. the 1st and 2nd) were only "good" because it was a newer concept when they came out. Not because the actual movies/plot/whatever were good. More along the lines of Avatar.. not really a new concept but it looked cool more or less. |

| I think it's a bit soon for a reboot... The movies didn't come out that long ago and at this point, there are plenty of other franchise reboots I would like to see in the works instead. |

Didn't Spiderman 3 break the record for biggest opening weekend in the history of cinema? It may not have been a great movie, but that's hardly failing hardcore. Might have ruined the chances of a big budget #4 from the same production team, though.

1. Spiderman 1 was terrible
2. Spiderman 2 was terrible
3. Spiderman 3 was terrible
As a young fan of the animated series, I've been nothing but let down by how its been handled.
It could just be that Spiderman just doesn't make decent movie material.
Not like Batman; like its animated series, the (not so) recent reboot of that franchise was gritty badass and awesome all rolled into one. A Spiderman movie in this style would feel wrong. |

of course it had a big opening weekend, thats cuz it's riding on the back of spider man 1 and 2, what does opening weekend have anything to do with its failing or not, it could have been a blank screen and still have a big opening showing. The entire series made money/didn't fail hardcore, but #3 failed hard. It even made the new top 10 worst super hero sequel list. |

I think there is potential for this reboot. People still love Spider-Man and the first 3 movies barely cracked the surface of the character and his world.
Personally, I never liked Tobey Maguire as spider-man and I thought Kirsten Dunst was horribly miscast as MJ. With a good cast (younger peter and better actress for MJ) and obviously good script it will be a success. |

| I would LOVE to see a Spider-man that's always throwing witty punchlines like in the comic book. The Spider-man in the movies were done horribly. |

A needless reboot. This is needless because the franchise is still fresh in the minds of everybody. As bad as the third movie was, the franchise was still making tons of money and did not need a reboot to get the franchise going unlike Superman.
The first and second Spider-Man movies were great. The third movie suffered from stuffing too many villains into a single movie. Too many storylines to deal with in that movie. |
