Greetings, figured I'd throw this map out and work on it for my own nostalgia. Hope it brings back some memories like it did for me.
If you have any suggestions as to improving the look of the map, feel free to throw them out, as far as layout, it will stay the same to match the original.
Just another map for you guys to play with. This paticular map was in a couple of tournaments and features an expansion behind the base, while easy to obtain, lacking vespene. It added an extra layer of choice and strategy. Enjoy.
I really liked this map. Can't say it's a top favorite, but I guess I can call it a fav. It's great cause it's nice and simple, but still offers quite a bit of dynamic play.
That said, is this map a bit imbalanced now? I'm not bothering to check the map directory - It's probably based off old games anyway. One of the problems is obviously the islands without blockers, but that's probably not even a problem considering that it looks like a pretty tough map for terran (due to the open center)
i lost you, you mention the islands without blockers, are you speaking of the 2 side expansions that are blocked? The terrain is exactly like it was in original. Perhaps im just misunderstanding.
Looks great but at first glance I thought the same thing. Cliff climbers are going to be used all the time in this map. Maybe add some obstruction preventing some area of those cliffs to be jumped? TvZ would be ridiculous early game with reapers. Very good remake though.
I never really liked Bladestorm because of the in base expansion. I personally love in base expansions as long as you can actually harass it/do something about it. I mean, it's in such a weird position that air units would have to fly through your enemies main.
I just don't like the map. irninja u r a great mapper (mapster?idk) though.

so you mean like that jungle WCG map. I think that map would actually be a good sc2 map.

Yeah that would be a good example. You should also check out Neo Kulas Ravine, someone decided to change it. Also, I know that Gaia doesn't have any in base expansions - but can someone remake that map? It was one of my favorites.
