GPU: well i guess at your price range you would have to go with 560Ti-448 / 570 or HD7850 / 7870 depending on what is on special.

It might be important to note that if you only care about GW2, they are sponsored by Nvidia (I think) and there seems to be less issues with their gpus than AMDs in the beta.

CPU: If you want to stream at the best quality, it might be worth investing in an i7, but not the 2700k as u can just overclock the 2600k. and u dont want the 2550k at all, you can just get 2500k for cheaper.

MOBO: I dont know

edit: I was looking at the website that you are looking at and noticed the 2700k is cheaper than the 2600k, which is wierd, but i just meant that u should go with the cheaper one.

a friend of mine says i should go for 2500k and overclock it and it will be just as good as 2600k

as for the gpu, same friend says i should wait for gtx 660

also thx for replying to me

EDIT:
what if i would get a good motherboard+cpu, and leave my old gpu (vtx radepm jd 5770), could i stream gw2 in best quality?

Ups, I confused ZS with ZT. However, judging by this review, I don't see how you could put the ZT lineup over Antec HCG. The ZS reviews seems a bit more favorable though.

Tank you for all of your inputs... I think i'll stick with what i chose so far, since ti doesn't seem to change so much, in term of quality and price. Will maybe be looking for cheaper price than the ones mentioned in the first post

Keep in mind that im no expert.

2500k wont be just as good as 2600k (hyperthreding) but it might be sufficient for what you want to do and also it might be worth saving ~100$.

I didnt know the 660 was even out but i douth it is less than your 250$ upper price range.

You didnt ask about this, but dont forget to buy a cpu cooler no matter which cpu you go with.

Sup TL, if you've got a moment to spare i'd love some feedback on my build before I buy.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9Rey

I'm gonna be overclocking the cpu and gpu, gaming/streaming on a 1680x1050 monitor. The sound card is for my ath m50s, and the extra fan is to improve the thermals on the case.

-Any recommendations on controllers?

-Where should I mount the fan to get the best air flow?

Thanks

I think an you would benefit much more from an i7 if you were streaming. If there is space in the front, it can be mounted there, or can be mounted on top to pull air out of the case.

Agreed with EdenPLusDucky and @kirbtacular

Your build is good but don't get that OCZ ModXStreamPro. Besides being mediocre in quality, it has annoyingly short cables.

This is a much better choice for that build, and yes it's plenty of power: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/pc-power--cooling-power-supply-ppcmk3s400

An i7 would be nice but unfortunately that's pushing the price out of my budget :s

If i wanted to upgrade gpu later, would I need a new PSU as well?

Unless you're saving money to upgrade to a GPU with three 6 pin connectors, a 400w PSU should do fine.

i think most newer 68xx, 69xx, 78xx, 79xx radeon cards support 3 monitors by itself (could be more, im not gonna list all of them), only the newer GTX (670?),680,690 support 3 out of the box. You should list a budget so we can accurately list give you advice on a specific card.

Thanks -- I don't really have a budget (of course I'd like to keep costs down, I don't want to spend anything too extravagant... over $350~400ish is probably too much) and of course I'd like the best performance for the value while still keeping the features I want (the ability to run 3 monitors).

I'll take a look at your suggestions though, thanks again. If anyone else has anything else to recommend then please let me know!

hey everyone,

so i've been reading much about computer hardware lately, and I am relatively knowledgeable about types of GPU, RAM, CPUs and coolers, such that when i build a computer in the near future I can pick my own components.

However, I have absolutely no idea what different types of motherboards mean, and I cannot name a difference between a zXX/pXX motherboard. I know some have different ports, but aside from that, what should i look at when i pick a motherboard? I heard that some are better at overclocking than others, can anyone elaborate on that?

Or, point me in the right direction regarding where I should look for the right answer? Wiki is not as helpful as I hope it would be in this aspect.

Thanks in advance!

"Better" for overclocking is usually pretty relative, and frequently doesn't mean much unless one of them truly sucks or you want to go for fairly high OCs, at least with current Intel offerings. Most mobo improvements for OC are quality of life improvements, like a good BIOS, onboard CMOS reset, OC recovery, onboard power/reset switches, and attached speaker/POST LEDs. They're things that make it easier to OC at all.

In most cases, the differences between motherboards for a normal OC are going to be close enough that you should go by warranty and features needed.

Pick for the socket, then just get the chipset that comes with the features you actually plan to use, from a reliable brand. Unless you're planning to go high or extreme OC, at which point a few other things can come into play.
