| H100 costs too much (relative to what is needed, in particular) and doesn't even fit in the top of the R3 without modding anyway. That's not really an endorsement for the V8, but that's fine if you want to get that. |

| I recently built my computer in that case and I'm using a Noctua NH-D14, high quality cooler and it fits fine but it's really fucking big. If you have RAM with tall heatspreading fins it won't work though. |

If you want a really good cooler that's a reasonable size and capable of higher OCs than an average air cooler like the Hyper 212+ or Xigmatek Gaia, I'd suggest looking at the CoolerMaster TPC 812.

Amazing performance, but it's only around the height of a 212+, so it fits in most ATX cases. It's a bit thicker, so watch out for memory heat spreaders.
I'll never understand the attraction of a closed loop liquid cooler like an H100 outside of maybe for moving the PC around a lot.Last edit: 2012-06-16 23:54:56 |

| I am gonna buy 7850 hd of sapphire and i was wondering if i need a new PSU. I got a 400w one which can run : i5 2500k, z68, gts 250, 4gb ddr3 , 1 hard drive 500gb western digital green caviar. It says that it needs a 500w one minimum but it doesn't consume much more power than my gts 250,infact it consumes less, do you think i should buy one? Last edit: 2012-06-17 03:34:40 |

You don't need a new PSU. |

Assuming you aren't excluding something relevant, like building a custom case out of cold cathodes, and double custom loops, yeah, the PSU is fine.
And to answer your edit, odds are good you'll be reinstalling your OS so chipset drivers don't go kablooey.Last edit: 2012-06-17 07:51:48 |

| I am going to purchase a 7850 ASUS card and i am currently running an i5 2500K, z68 mobo, 8gigs 1.65v ram, 1.5t harddrive all on a 500 watt power supply. I am going to be over clocking my i5 and my gpu and i am wondering if I will run into problems with my powersupply. Newegg placed it at 496watts but since i will be overclocking will i need a bigger power supply? |

Newegg's PSU calculator is a pile of shit on a good day. Assuming it's a quality model PSU (which may be a silly assumption since you didn't say what model), 500w is more than enough.
If it's not a quality model, I wouldn't want to use it no matter how overkill it was theoretically rated to be.Last edit: 2012-06-17 08:43:59 |

I wouldn't grab an h100 since if you plan on moving it a ton you probably want a case on the smaller size too. Go for an H60 then if you're adamant about getting something that won't waggle around as your car moves. |

Hey this is for skyR, I would love to hear your recommendations on a PC build with the following criteria
What is your budget? - $800
What is your resolution? - 1920x1080
What are you using it for? - Mostly gaming, photoshop, maybe some video editing. Primarily gaming though.
What is your upgrade cycle? - 2+ years in regards to upgrade cycle. Don’t plan on upgrading it very often.
When do you plan on building it? - Looking at completing the build within the next 2 weeks
Do you plan on overclocking? - Do not plan on overclocking
Do you need an Operating System? - Will NOT require an Operating System.
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? - Do not plan on adding a second video card to SLI or Crossfire.
Where are you buying your parts from? - Memory Express, using their price matching policy to get the best possible deals against competitors. City Location in Calgary is NE, but am willing to drive to other MemX locations in calgary. |

That's a sweet deal for the processor and motherboard.
I wanted the 650 power supply because the video card requires at least 500w at least, I figured why not get that better video card (for like $20 more) for any new games or anything? From what I've read the performance that the 6870 gives for the cost is really good compared to the 6850
