AS5 is a complete waste. People need to stop buying it :/

I think you overpayed on the RAM, and the sniper is a decent case

Honestly, the CPU doesn't matter that much in gaming. The graphics card setup matters the most.

Not so much for sc2, sc2 is very cpu dependent, rts tend to be much more so then a fps with some rare exceptions like BF:BC2.

SC2 likes a strong cpu but i don't think you'll need to oc the i5 to get a good experience.

I'm sure the i5 will do perfectly fine on SC2.

I'm sure any Intel i CPU can handle SC2 at Ultra quite easily.

@buhhy

Yes AS5 is not that good anymore esp for inflated prices ppl buy it, it's a very old formula.

I too think 155 for i'm guessing 6 gigs of ram is alot.

is a decent compound

There is also better compounds

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11398/thr-80/Tuniq_TX-4_High_Performance_Thermal_Grease_-_30g.html?tl=g8c127s690

personally i like the tuniq tx-4, just because its very hard to find artic cooling mx-4

The thing why that one cost so much is because it's 3.0 grams, but it's a non conductive material so you can use it on your gpu, cpu, north bridge, etc. 3.0 grams is alot

In my list from what i observe it's like in terms of performance
AS5<MX-2=TX-2<OCZ< IC7=TX-4=MX-4=Shin-Etsu

I have a PC that runs an i7 930 2.8 GHz with 9 GB of RAM that struggled on Medium and had to run on Low to play smoothly. After upgrading only my graphics card (to an ATI Radeon 5770), it can run Ultra nicely. Just goes to show that it's the graphics card that matters, not the CPU.

Of course gpu matters, but try running SC2 with a 5870 and a AMD 6400+ or something, that isn't a power house like a 930, you'll get horrible min frame rates, =p all those physics, moving units, units taking dmg, lighting effects etc. are calculated with the cpu.

No it's all the same i didn't use < i guess i should use = haha, my math teachers hated how i didn't write = too

In fact i'd be inclined to say IC Diamond 7 is probably a wee bit better then anything else currently available, but the data given from site to site is inconclusive.

What is the best GPU I could buy in the price range of 100-150$? I live in British Columbia, Canada so it would be great if you could find it on http://ncix.com/index.php. My old card, which just died on me, was an xfx 9600 GSO. 1280x1024 resolution. My budget could probably go a bit higher if there is a card that is really worth it.

Thanks.

Basically any card will be able to handle 1280x1024.

http://www.overclock.net/cooling-experiments/453054-ic-diamond-7-vs-shin-etsu.html

It's quite obvious which one is superior here :/

I would recommend against the HD 5750 in favor of the GTS 250. HD 5750 really doesn't perform that well for its price.

I can play ultra on 1680x1050 with my 6000+, but it's my gtx 280 sc that's taking the load. I really notice the hurt in 3v3 and 4v4 lategame, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I'd like to recommend http://www.overclockers.co.uk as a pc parts retail site for UK customers.

Also http://www.trustedreviews.com is a great site to check out for information if you have a specific component in mind which you want to find out more about before you buy.

I hope he had an open test bed cuz that's alot of applying haha, I don't think he's using enough pressure, i believe IC7 recommended pressure is 50psi

I am looking for a good laptop to game with. I know, laptop isnt the best way to go but I have NO choice as I need it for work and I can't afford multiple computers. Is there a good one out there under 1200 dollars? I know there is but I need some suggestions as I don't want to buy a peice of crap and if I can't figure this out I'm gunna buy a Mac book PRO and call it a day.
Being weak is a choice.

What do you need the laptop to do?

IE what do you want to be able to run well, photoshop, sc2 etc.

Then i suggest how big do you want it, ie like 14" or 18"

Only one of your reviews explicitly states which version of X23 it uses, and it happens to be the older version :/

though it's really a moot point since we're arguing over at best 2C -_-
