I originally created my unit tables during the beta as a way to easily see all of the unit counters in the game on my secondary monitor. I later added some unit data as I thought that would be handy. I have slowly been adding more and more info to the tables (sadly all the info no longer fits neatly on my secondary monitor but I digress).
What do you guys think?
The unit tables now include the following:
Unit Strengths and Weaknesses (similar to blizzards in game help but more detailed) Armor Type(s) Attack Range Rate of Fire Damage Armor DPS DPS vs Bonus Bonus Attack Damage Movement Speed Hit Points Build Time Cost Unit Sight Range Attack Range DPS Upgrade info DPS Per Cost DPS Per Pop Unit Pop Upgaded Unit Spees Speed on Creep Unit Size Building Size

Very well-polished. Keep up the good work!
How do you compute Carrier's DPS?
And why the (+1)? Is that for armor?
|
This is awesome. Thanks for the time and for sharing!
|
Hey Carwashguy. It is a formula. The formula is listed on the table if you highlight the cell. However It only works for single targets and with regular attacks. I have removed the DPS for Carrier and Mutalisk for now until I can figure out a way to calculate the DPS properly.
The DPS +1 is for units with one attack upgrade. I have not completed this section yet so disregard those numbers. I would like to include DPS +1 2 and 3 as well as DPS vs Different Armor levels eventually.
Its probably going to take quite some time to get all of that uploaded though.

For Mutalisk (and Colossus and others), you might have two different columns, one single unit and another for upper bound. Mutalisk's upper bound would do 9+3+1 while Colossus would do something like 5x Damage.

There's a typo in "Spine Crwawler"
And the Weak vs. and Strong vs. for the Spine and Spore Crawlers look backwards.
Banelings have a certain damage vs structures, too. I forget what the exact number is.
Do you have the essential stats in a JPEG format, too? I found one of your earlier versions, with just the raw number information very helpful as a reference.
|
Wow thanks Bibly! I do not have a JPEG version nor have I ever created one. Someone else must have done that! Great idea though. Maybe someone will create and updated version.
@Carwashguy I was thinking about adding something like that to the list showing a units Minimum and maximum DPS.

Thors are not weak to marines. They own marines, weak to marauders, zealots, zerglings.

Thanks for the input Sabresandiego! I have updated the spreadsheet

added some minor updates and corrections

This is just Sick!! Keep up the great work!

Umm I question the accuracy of some of these tests. Hydralisks in numbers do incredible vs mass ling. Are these tests only for 1 unit vs 1 unit?
|
@Dechkie Thank you!
@Bio This is a very good point. This is a common theme in many RTS games. In small numbers melee units tend to dominate ranged units (without micro) however in large number ranged units tend to pull ahead even if the melee units have damage modifiers against the ranged units.
At some point I would like to come up with a more comprehensive system than Strong Vs Weak. This is something I have been contemplating however I have not come up with a viable system that works in the majority of scenarios. Perhaps we can quantify the relationship (how well one units counters another) and then break it down by scenario (1 units 10 and 50) as well as add for tactics (elevation, kitting ect). However this quickly become very cumbersome. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

The Cost/DPS and Cost/DPS vs. Bonus columns are backwards.
