They may have been the lucky ones if the pro comp gets cancled as well :\ Ouch, what will happen if the pro gets cancelled aswell? Reschedule? Also, what kind of problems were you guys encountering? We would like to apologize to everyone who came, Unfortunately Blizzard servers were flagging our IP and cutting us off the second we got 30 computers on making it impossible to log in to BattleNet and anyone who logs off could not get back in, we were on the phone to the SEA community manager and they were also not informed of anything like this, by the time they contacted Blizzard's tech support round 1 for the Pro tourney was over and it was smooth sailing from then on in. We appreciate everyone's patience today as we were not told by Blizzard that problems like this would occur, in future things will be done differently. Thankfully the ridiculousness of this proposal was quickly realised. Due to this action by by the owner of the internet cafe, Xin Gaming will no longer be working with Cydus. Xin Gaming has been built by the community for the community and not for profit, we would only like to work with people that have the same mind set as us, I fought very hard with the owner and finally got everyone their refunds, not to stress, the people who signed up for the Amateur comp can play it off from the comfort of their own homes for the left over prizes, for free Details will be posted shortly on www.xin-gaming.com We would like to apologize once again to those in the amateur tournament. Congratulations to the following people for winning the Pro tournament! 1st: Deth 2nd: Mujahidun 3rd: Yoz Brackets, replays and pictures of the day will be posted in the next couple of days on www.xin-gaming.com

Can I suggest MCC in melbourne? http://www.mccgaming.com/ ? It is a relatively new Lan place with multiple rooms, new comps (relatively), a bit cramp, but they do have a projector screen (was used to watch world cup 2010) so finals can be viewed on it. I'm also pretty sure the owner is an sc2 enthusiast because me and a friend gave him our spare beta keys =D Just suggesting the place, because I frequent it enough to be used to the mouse + keyboard there. That, and the place is usually packed with dota players, hopefully if there's a touranment there we can show them what a Real Men Game is. =D

If we cannot find an internet cafe in Melbourne to partner with which facilitates our needs we will have to look into hiring out a mini hall. This will all be announced in the future. We will however not be doing anything of this size at a venue due to Blizzards IP cap, in future if we decide to have a tournament at a LAN there will be online qualifications and only a small number (10-16) will be playing at the venue with a lot of spectator space.

It's a real shame you pulled out Pinder, after round 1 the Pro tournament went on very smoothly and everyone could log in, you could have taken home some prizes or at least played/watched some epic games ^^ Oh well, maybe next time, the replays will be up in a couple of days. Edit: One game with Mujahidun and Xiaofenfen got everyone on their feet applauding, one of the best games I've seen in ages.

There were a LOT of problems, but this is to be expected from a fresh game/scene etc I suppose, australia hasnt had any decent RTS competitions since wc3 was new. Thanks to guc, we cheered each other on and the brackets worked out perfectly for a grand final between us. Oh and didnt Cydus also remove the credit from pro tourney? I assumed they did because I didnt hear anything about it when i got my prizes.

As I understand it there is no IP cap and it would have been the router. This may be true but we had held a Heroes of Newerth tournament at Cydus with no problems, also the only short fix we could find to start getting people able to connect to Bnet was by changing the routers external IP, this is why we have been lead to believe that it was a Bnet problem and not a Cydus one. Unfortunately the Cydus staff were clueless and I myself am no technician, If I were to have known that technical difficulties may have occurred I would have hired a tech. 62 Pro 46 Amateur Bnet 2.0 keeps on failing. Yes it was a great turn out, much more than the '4 people' some said were going to enter the pro tournament hehe, it's very unfortunate we couldn't get both tournaments going at once, if all 80 PC's were to have been able to connect to Bnet, After round 1 knock outs we would have seen two epic tournaments run simultaneously.
