Welcome to the Official State of the Game Podcast Thread. No idea what the hell State of the Game is? It is a podcast based around the happenings of the SC2 world. You can find the previous episodes below.
The Pillars of State of the Game [fancy way of saying the hosts] will eventually be put back together. For now, one stands with the weight of all! - JP 'itmeJP' McDaniel - A veteran of the eSports world, JP brings with him vast knowledge of eSports outside the world of Starcraft. JP is an independent content creator. He serves as the main anchor for the show and edits, plans, and hosts the podcast. In his spare time, JP can be found destroying nerds with his bear like paws.

TvT shift from Tank/Viking into more bio and drop-centric play

What do you guys think about this idea for Banelings?
How about making them be researchable from the Spawning Pool? Like Lurkers used to be in Star1.
And if you're going to keep the Baneling Nest, how about making them spawn directly from the larvae rather than having to morph them from Zerglings?Last edit: 2010-08-19 15:19:43 |

In the extreme late game of TvZ, when the Z gets a large number of Ultralisks, is there anything the Terran can do to win the game at that point? Given that the Thor 250mm cannon has been rendered useless against ultras.
Playing multiple games myself and watching Day[9]s' Brat_Ok episode, it definitely shows that ultralisks in the late stage is basically unbeatable for a terran. I guess that makes up for our super strong midgame mech tho.. terran ftw! |

I want to ask that when you copy a build from good players, what are the most important factors to take in(build order, attack timings, tech paths, unit compositions)? And how can you tell the difference between the "set plan" the player has before the game and the variations he makes to his build within the game based on how his opponent plays? |

I just started listening to the Beta podcasts yesterday, and I must say I really love the format. A tournament "section" would definitely be interesting.
@Question: Top tech units such as the Mothership, Carriers and Battle Cruisers are being seen more and more in high level games now. Is this a sign that more games are reaching the "late game" stage, or are people simply getting these units quicker to exploit the fact that their opponents do not expect them (e.g. TLO TvZ BC rush)? |

Are you f-ing serious? With these changes I don't even have to make zerglings to get banelings and can't see if my opponent is Banelingrushing. Do you want to make ZvZ even worse? And think about the QQing Terrans who can't scout the Blingbreak anymore...
@Question: In the Korean tournaments the players have these epic music themes (i.e. "kill you all" and "atack,destroy") when they enter the arena. What songs would you guys chose for your entrance and why?

| @question: What do think about giving zerg an upgrade in the roach den that changes roaches from 2 food down to 1 food. This upgrade would become available with lair tech. This change might encourage zerg to go muta/roach vs a meching terran. Thoughts? |

| @Question: Most zerg players are complaining about all the harassment options terran has against them. How do you feel about lowering the cost of zerg's static defenses a little to compensate? This would still allow terrans to take map control with harassment strategies but allow zerg not to take such a hit to their economy every time they throw down some static defense. |
