The only disadvantage I can say is completely a personal opinion. In Beta, I constantly loved to watch others' streams, as there were not a huge number of them. However, as the beta got more and more open, and more people started getting streams, I found myself overwhelmed by the choices, and basically, I have not watched an un-featured stream since the start of Beta, unless specifically suggested by a friend. Completely opinion, but that is my feedback, if it is worth anything...
