Nevermind. After a couple more readings, i've decided not to comment manga ever again after a friday night barhop.
But quick speculation after a re-read, my first idea was wrong. I suppose it's touching on that the ultra is a balanced mix of anti-structure and anti-unit now, which IMHO... nevermind, not even gonna open that can tonight, whole other threads for that... So read my original further down below if you want but I consider it erroneous now, but I don't believe in editing out such mistakes.
Oh, yeah, mad props to the creator though, and thanks to the OP. A good viewing regardless!

The ultra was good at destroying buildings. Not much else though, and fell easily.
Then 1.1's ultras no longer had the ram ability, but the tusks did massive AOE, destroying everything around the building and then some.
Then the hotfix or whatever one would want to call it. Now they're not that great at taking out buildings or units, and die trying. In various conditions they are even worse than they were retail. The ultra dies trying to kill a building, which before hand he probably would have done, but then died to the units.
Or so I've gathered from the comic/reading posts from the ultras.

Before the patch, ultralisks had a special attack that could only be used against buildings. In patch 1.1 they removed that and there was a bug that made the ultralisk have a very large splash damage reach. Then they removed that too and now the ultralisk is brittle, per the comic. |
