Since I see a lot of people have trouble with 6 pool I figured I would upload a replay to share and hopefully help them. I am a 1k Diamond Protoss player and I realize that my play is FAR from perfect but it gives a basic idea for what I think is the best way to counter 6 pool. I did stop making probes while I was under pressure so I could afford the cannons for defense. I hope it helps.
I also am uploading for another reason and that is because I have a question. At the end of the game, the opponent started cursing me out and told me he was going to report me for hacking. Is that kind of harrassment reportable as well? He cursed at me at the end of the game and then messaged me after the game. I don't understand how blizzard would ban me because anyone that watches the replay will know that I am not. I think he accused me of warping in a colossus...? Haha... I've heard of warping in immortals but not colossus...
Anyway, hope this helps some and thanks for any input!

Great thread.
You should really call your local police department and tell them that someone was mean to you on the internet.

I don't really care that he was mean to me. I think its pretty legitimate to not want to be reported for no reason. I curse all the time, and it doesn't really offend me. Thanks for your input though buddy.

REPORTED TO THE CYBER POLICE

Blizz won't ban you because of an arbitrary report, assumed he reported you at all.
Btw I even received BM for beating a T in a long macro game, this is teh internet.

Seen this happen too in a 2v2 game where I did mass phoenix and my team mate who played random, spawned as zerg and mass lings. We were fighting against a ZT team. Our combination was amazing. I picked up all the hellions the opponent made, while I effectively killed off every overlord of the zerg player and the occasional queen, while my zerg team mate harrassed with the lings. For some reason our opponent started tossing out the "hack" card, although it was obvious they were just playing badly and didn't know how to counter our strategy <.< (So for any 2v2 teams that are zerg and protoss, I can recommend mas ling, mass phoenix :D)
I have yet to receive that ban they were so certain I would get.
Anyway, there's another thread of how to stop 6pool, specifically on Steppes. I haven't watched your reply, but your strategy sounds similar...? I'll watch it later when I'm not on the laptop to give a proper response.

I don't think it was an ideal defense at all... You had to spend 150 on forge, 150 on cannon, 150 on an extra gateway and 200 on extra blocking pylons just to make sure you were safe :/. Plus, Blistering Sands has one of the longest rush distances of any 1v1 map. When he falls back he's only 2 workers behind you, lol. And, 'cos you don't even have an operational gateway, he's free to build only drones.
At 7 minutes he's ahead of you in workers and has an expo already up. While your expo hasn't started; AND, he friggin' 6 pooled.
During the final battle, he was 3 base vs your 2 base, but didn't have enough flyers to kill the colossus before they carved up his hydras.
While the game wasn't awful... A 200 vs 200 food battle at 21 minutes isn't really a good "6 pool defense".

Here's a perfect example of why I hate the wall-in method of defending.
The only reason you won this game at all is because the zerg let himself get outplayed. From around the 6 minute mark on, you were behind.
If you just let the lings in, and fight them with a chrono zealot + probes, you win without ever giving the zerg a chance to catch back up, and the game is usually over around the 6 minute mark.
Especially if you've already cut workers to get a slightly early gateway. There's just no reason to wall off in that situation.

If you let the zerg in, more will come. If you wall of he will do 1 of 2 things. Continue making lings to do a baneling bust for an all-in or he will realize the 6 pool was stopped, and will macro up. He macro'd and that is why he was able to keep up. A zerg can drone much faster than the other races. You cannot defend a 6 pool without sacrificing something. IMO. He may have caught up to me in economy, but he gave up on the early pressure while I had no way to scout which he was doing. I dunno, sometimes I do zealot defense, but in this game I felt like the wall in was my best bet. There was no way i was getting a zealot out before he got there, and I knew that.

i personally just block with forge macro up and win.

Which is exactly what you want. If he keeps making lings, you keep killing them. He can't build drones, he can't do jack shit.
Continue making lings to do a baneling bust for an all-in or he will realize the 6 pool was stopped, and will macro up.
At which point you GO KILL HIM. And seriously LOL at the idea of a 6pool getting enough resources to baneling bust before you have enough units to just kill him. The more workers he builds, the fewer units you need to wipe him out.
He macro'd and that is why he was able to keep up.
He was able to do that because he knew you were completely walled in. If you don't wallin, then he's under threat of a counterattack, so he can't macro up. But during that time, he's making lings 2-4 at a time. Seriously, all you have to do is kill the first 6 without losing too much, and the game is over.

You can defend a 6pool just fine with zealots + workers. You sacrifice some mining time that you don't actually need because he only has 5-7 workers. And you'll *never* get a zealot in time for a 6pool. If your zealot ever pops before the lings get there, then it simply wasn't a 6pool.
And you're right. He gave up on early pressure, built a max army that was pretty worthless against your max army, and in addition, let himself get caught out of position so that he had to actually fight your army at a bad angle, losing forces way faster than he should have. Like I said, he allowed himself to be outplayed. You didn't even put your first tech structure down (2 robos) until almost 15 minutes into the game.
But there are about a gazillion things he could have done differently that would have ended in the zerg winning instead of losing.

Wow 1k Diamond sure is a joke now, lol@forge.

As a terran player, I get BMed all the damn time. I usually offer to discuss the game with them, to no avail. Starcraft brings out the rage.

They should ban ppl for BM like that imo.

People don't need to learn which button to press to siege and unsiege a tank.

What is this? All you've done is posted a replay without explaining how you stopped the 6 pool, and then a couple screenshots to show how e-awesome you are. Don't make Strat threads like this, please.
