Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

^LOL that's so terrible!
And AMAZING episode. It didn't turn out like I thought it would, which is a nice surprise, but I can see the interpretation the writers wanted. Great job. If they would continue this kind of thing in the next season, even more people would watch. |

omg I was thinking of making the exact same meme when I heard Rick talking about it! I just started laughing so inappropriately, I can only image if I were watching the episode with somebody else.
Best episode of the series so far for me, better than episode 1.
One question though, the situation with Shane and the kid he freed is kind of murky to me. Do you guys think he intended to kill the kid and bait Rick out the entire time, or was he testing the kid to see if he still had any allegiance to his old group and killing Rick was an on-the-fly idea? From the kid's reaction, it seems like they were better off killing him, he knew exactly where to go and probably would've led his group straight to the farm. |

I think it was planned. He was just talking to the kid to calm him down so he could easily sneak up on him and break his neck.
And yeah, the kid seemed to be bad news for a while now. Like usual, Shane was right, but handled the situation wrong. |

BELOW A SPOILER TOWARDS NEXT SEASON. + Show Spoiler +Can't wait how will Governor be in the tv series, I always thought someone like Danny Trejo to fit, never thought about anyone like David Morrissey. I just hope they won't spoil the best villain in the series, guess I'll have to wait and see. |

| On Talking Dead, the live air show that AMC runs to fill time at low cost, the actress for Maggie, Lauren Cohan, brought up a point about Shane's death. She suggested that he was egging Rick on the whole time and that Shane, actually, wanted Rick to kill him. If you look at Shane's downward spiral and everything, his inability to improve his situation or to leave the group, and then Lori's little 'It's not you, it was me' speech to him, that theory seems to hold some water. Rather than continue to torture himself by putting up with Rick's family, he basically opted for an assisted suicide. It's also true that if he really wanted Rick dead, he could have killed plenty of times and in plenty of ways. Needing Rick to raise his gun before Shane fired does really amount to a cop out and indicates a certain willingness to die on Shane's part. |

Just re watched the first episode and damn is it powerful.
When Rick goes home trying to find Lori and Carl and he on the floor "is this real" "wake up!". Good stuff. Looking for more of that in the next season. |

This is what I've been speculating for the past few weeks. Basically, Lori's baby is stillborn and becomes a zombie shortly after birth, which Lori is in complete denial of and takes care of the baby until her overdue demise. At least that's what I'm hoping for. |

the whole dale dying this is a huge departure from the physics of the world of Walking Dead, and kinda idiotic. Not that a zombie couldnt attack him, or force fingers into his body to rip him apart, but that it could take down a cow first. Zombies are slower, more light weight (over time due to decay), versions of people. A person cannot attack a cow and not get kicked. a Cow can easily kick strong enough to break legs. Animals can smell death and dead things from pretty far away, a walking dead thing would NOT be able to sneak up on the cow. If it managed to get close, the cow would kick the shit out of it as it tried to attack the cow, probably breaking bones, etc. This would actually leave the zombie in a much lower capacity to move, and possibly crawling along the ground brokenly. In this state it would never be able to kill dale.
Thus, the dale death is absurd. |

True. But how about this: The cow was already dying due to sickness or old age basically being unable to do anything when a zombie came and starting chewing away at it.

I'll have to believe this as true, and that the farmer wasn't culling his herd like normal, otherwise the inconsistency will gnaw at me ( ).

I think they have a goal for the series and thats what they are trying to get too, thats the somewhat weird events(remember they first planned only 2 seasons), Rick is the best character as he is a badass whene it comes to killing people, + all his decisions seems always the most logical(the most geniune character in the series!
Sorry for my spelling!

| So am I the only one who didn't catch on that Shane had actually broken the kids neck? When I first saw the episode, I saw him shoving the kid then he shoves him one last time and kid goes out of frame and you hear what sounds like twigs snapping. I thought the kid tripped and ended up getting killed by the fall. Then in Shane's rage that he can't escape them finding out he bashes his face on the tree to make up a story about how the kid got away. I didn't get that was his plan to kill Rick and he actually killed the kid himself until I read this thread lol. |
