Hi folks ^^
MLG Dallas is coming up and I for one have never attended an event like it before.
I thought it would be cool if some of the TL community that is going to be there anyway could get together/meet up and hang out while we watch the tourney. I think it would be fun to be hanging out with a group of people that are as crazy about this game as I am instead of flying solo for it.
Anywho, PM me or post in the thread if you're interested!

We'll see you there!
As far as I know, the "official meetup" is very hard to do at venues like this because there's no place easily accessible that handles a large number of people. We've basically outgrown most restaurants. Someone told me a Denny's is near the hotel, but I assume its packed with all the gamers.
I think for MLG DC everyone ended up splitting up and going to separate bars / hotels / etc, and we might not have a choice to do anything as a large group this time either. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yeah; I'm not real familiar with the location just yet. I had actually planned to pm my cell number to whoever was interested in hanging out and grabbing a bite to eat between games etc etc.
Figured folks could just call me or vice versa and be like "hey we're all over here by the MLG sign." haha
I think it would be way cool to be able to have the whole community together, but I guess I'd imagined it would be a smaller group of people that would be looking to hang out while we enjoyed the big show.

There are unfortunately only a few places to eat close by to the Anatole, so the Denny's is pretty much packed 100% of the time....

rush the whataburger off Inwood

i would love to have a set place to meet up at! It is the first time I go out of state for a gaming event.

We're bringing pretty much our entire SC crew from college station which is pretty much like 20 of us
i think the easiest thing to do is just organize it when we get there
|
The Anatole does have a pretty big lobby/bar area though, i have been there several times for Quakecon and it works well

I wish I would've bought a Team Liquid shirt earlier.

Awesome! We'll match it by bringing our entire team as well!

We'll be bringing a few of our players from UT up for this as well. Can't wait!

I'm so jealous, the whole TL team will be there- why couldn't this be in New York or something
|
4 guys coming up from University of Houston, looking forward to it, definitely would like to attend my first TL meetup even if it isn't in an official sense

At DC we ended upw ith a group of almost 40 ppl, which split into multiple smaller groups, we ended up having like 15-20 ppl tho and we ordered chinese food and at it in the hotel's mezanine level, was pretty baller tho.

Team Liquid vs Texas A&M showmatch IMO. If we take a game off of liquid we win .
|
I'd definitely be interested in meeting up with some people down there! I'm travelling solo as well

i hate the whole "lets all just split up and go where we can thing" i prefer the way it was setup in raleigh/anaheim where we can all get together as a big happy family and hangout <33 altho i understand it is extremely difficult to setup

I have a question: Can you buy tickets at the door? I'm considering going (and visiting my sister who's at SMU up in Dallas) but I don't want to buy tickets in case it falls through.
