These are kind of weak, but it's all I can think of at the moment.

Flavor Substitute
If you are poor, and short on foodstuffs, try adding ketchup to almost anything.
People did this a lot during the great depression.
You would be surprised that a waffle, even with syrup, peanut butter ect, still tastes good with ketchup.
I actually prefer ketchup with bacon and grilled cheese now :/
In general, honey mustard and ranch seem to compliment almost every basic food ever..

Anxiety Relief
Usually, anxiety sufferers tend to have elevated heart rates, which can be quite uncomfortable.
While there are many other orthodox methods for attempting to calm yourself down, you can generally slow your heart back to a normal level by using the same muscles you use to poop. Somehow, these two are connected, and flexing these muscles should slow your heart rate a bit.

No More Foam
Usually the best way to prevent foam is to pour the beer correctly into your glass from it's source.
However, in the event this does not occur, you can simply use the oils of your skin to alleviate the problem in 30 seconds. Simply take your index finger and rub it over the oily skin of your nose. Stir in your drink for a few seconds, and watch the foam disappear.

Instant Firework (* Do this at your own risk, gas lighters have a chance to explode if you are not careful*)
Get a standard Bic lighter. (has to have a flint, can't be electric)
Dismantle the top piece, being very slow and careful while removing the igniter (the part you roll with your thumb), as the flint is housed under it pressured by a spring. If you do this clumsily, the spring will send the flint flying, and you will need another lighter.
Take the spring and unwind a little bit of it, its pretty malleable.
Then, take the flint (tiny gray cylinder, akin to a piece of lead) and attach it to the spring by twisting it around a few times. It should hold well enough.
Take another standard lighter, and heat the flint directly. it should turn red fairly quickly, along with the part of the spring coil connected to it.
Finally, throw the flint on the ground, and you get a nice little pyrotechnics show.

Instant Revenge
Go to store. Purchase Syrup.
Put syrup anywhere it does not belong (shampoo bottles, water balloon, door/car handles, lawn, ect.)
Syrup is a tool of the devil, and wherever it goes will generally ruin that persons day.
*Winter Alternative*
If it is cold enough where you live for water to freeze into ice, and you are unable to obtain syrup, try this instead.
Take 1 random exotic magazine of you choosing.
Rip pages out.
Get one bottle of water.
Find person in questions car, and stick desired pages to windows ect as you like.
Add water.
Pages should freeze, and be very hard to remove. mission accomplished.

When I think of something actually useful, I'll come back and edit the post or something

I just pulled one in order to get a paper and presentation done (both of which were deemed shitty anyway), and I have to give the presentation at 10 am tomorrow (have to get to the hall earlier at 8:50 for other presenters), and right now it's 3:08 pm. Are there any ways to recover or otherwise get ready? Any random tricks regarding ppt presenters would be appreciated intensely too.

I think I would prefer foam rather than oily nose sweat in my drink.

Whew, I thought I was the only one who noticed that. That's like replacing a problem with another, more irritating/disgusting problem.

I like all the bathroom tricks. Heres my routine.
-Wake up, start the coffee first so it finishes when your out of the shower.
-Shave before getting into the shower so washing off shaving cream is easy as pie.
-Brush teeth and pee while showering obv
-Before getting out of the shower, let the hot water spray into your ear canals so the wax will be soft for the next step:
-Q-tips yo

Also, does anyone else pee against the side of the toilet bowl to make less noise? rofl, i do this at night.

Another life trick that has been helping me lately: Naps. Yes Naps.

A guy asked about all nighters. I take a nap around 4 or 5 and I can ladder or grind poker all night super easy. Ive been playing great lately using this tsrategy.

Of course the downside is that you turn into an antisocial vampire type creature. Oh welll its worth it.

This is how it works for me, say I gotta get up for school at 7 am and I'm still awake at like 3 am, then I don't go to bed, because I'll only be more tired when I wake up. The thing is, when I'm in school I'm doing stuff so I don't have time to be sleepy kind off, the other thing is when you get home, then you just wanna die.. But if you only will get 5-x hours, sleep 0-5 dont sleep, that's my plan anyway

I hope you don't use these inside of your ear mate. Q-tips is the work of the devil, at least when used wrongly.

THEY'RE NOT MADE FOR SWABBING EAR WAX. Ear wax = GOOD, it protects your ears. Go look it up bro, you're fucking with your ears, might damage your hearing someday.

Now i was born with a bad hearing so i've been told all this and everything else related to hearing a million times. After all, a small damage to an already damaged hearing is more noticable, and more "damaging", than it is for someone with normal hearing. I'm two steps away from getting a hearing aid myself, sweet stuff.

I never sleep more than 5 hours, so i'd say my advice would be simply getting a different sleep schedule. Admittedly i may drink a bit more coffee than good is, but that doesn't bother me too much

"Creativity is hard work, pure and simple."

Seriously, fuck you. You couldn`t be more wrong. Creativity is the complete opposite of hard work, it`s a joyous activity, not fucking work, not routine, not repetition, not habits, not doing "effort" - it is first and foremost joyous and satisfying.

"The more you know, the more creative you can be"

Bullshit. Bad point. The more you know, the more material you have to construct from. Creativity is the skill of creation. It is creation. It is creating. It is not about how much material you have, though material and its quality is not irrelevant. Still, you can create from nothing. That is creativity.

"The people that are the most "creative" or have the most ideas consistently are the one's that do the most research."

The people that are the most creative or have the most ideas consistently are the one`s that are able to create these ideas out of what they have, whatever it is. Just look at some SC II players. There are many who know a shitload about the game - or so they believe - and often they are the ones criticising new ideas that later become excellent strategies just because they are are not within their knowledge base or are not "standard" - and they only respect "standard". It doesn`t fucking matter how much they know because all they know is how to parrot someone.

The key to creativity is the feeling world. Know your feelings, understand where they come from and learn how they can enhance your perceptions, their quality, truthfulness, dimensionality and depth. The key to that is not knowledge absorbtion but self-observation and self-trust.

Can the users of TL verify if Aelip's statement about earwax is true or not? My entire family has been using Q-tips since as long as I can remember, and probably much longer than that . . . I'd like to know for sure whether or not it is good for the ears so I can stop doing it. I trust the majority of TL more than random websites generated by google, hence the pole.

Getting rid of hiccups asap:

Inhale very deeply, and hold for 20-30 seconds (NO EXHALE WHATSOEVER). If you hold in the inhale (hold the air down in your diaphragm) your hiccups will be gone as they cant get the air necessary to continue.

Have never had the hiccups for more than 5 seconds in 10 years.

How to avoid getting a speeding ticket while speeding on a highway:
This is one i learned from a buddy who works for California highway patrol:
If you are ever flying down the highway, try to stay close to another car also speeding, in case of patrol car, hit brakes and pull directly behind the other car that was also speeding. Highway Patrol will always pull over the lead car in a string of speeders. (my brother did this after friend told him, and got out of a ticket doing 120 down the highway by pulling behind an infiniti same color that was doing about 90) Moral of the story: when you wanna haul ass, find someone else who feels the same way and follow closely behind them.

I don't think even random educated people on TL who vote in that poll without providing reasons would know what they are saying is true. It seems like there would be hard proof or nothing of it swinging either way. I find earwax inconvenient, so I will take the health risk by removing the earwax with a lit cigarette.

Organic foods are typically grown by hobby farmers who have other jobs and not enough time to look after their crops; which is why they don't bother treating them with insecticides or fertilizers.

If you've ever driven through a farming community you've probably noticed that the farms are often close to if not directly adjacent to each other; so on windy days a lot of the chemicals used by commercial farmers are blowing over onto organic crops anyway.

If a meat is enriched with Omega-3 acids, it means the animal was force-fed a flax seed. You can buy flax seeds in almost any spice rack. They taste like crap on their own but have an absurd amount of Omega-3 in them; several times that of any enriched meats with all the same benefits.

In other words, don't pay ridiculous prices for health foods.

Another good one; on any web browser, hold ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
The plan has been programmed into EVERY ONE of my thousand robots.

If you are working out to build muscles, then drink ALOT of water every day on routine. Your muscles will swell more and look bigger. If you take creatine the effect will be even better.

Edit: Another one. If you are ordering drinks or making themselves at your party make sure to have the glasses FULL of ice because the drink will taste better. The main taste in a drink should be the liquor not the blend as many people think.

Have never had the hiccups for more than 5 seconds in 10 years.

My trick is the use of a memory.

The year was 1928, one day my teacher noticed I had the hiccups and asked me what I ate yesterday for lunch. Puzzled, I answered a sandwich. With a confused look on my face I asked my teacher why- then I noticed that my hiccups were gone...

Shaving:

I wouldn't recommend shaving before showering if you want to get a good shave. I always shower first and shave immediately upon getting out of the shower after drying off.

Your best bet to get a good shave is to shower (with hot water), use some facial scrub in the shower to remove oils and dirt and exfoliate- I feel this is the least known and best way to help avoid razor burn. The hot water also softens your hair so that it can be cut easier.

After you get out of the shower and dry off a little, get some hot water running in the sink and add shaving cream. I personally am not really picky about shaving cream, but some kinds are better than others. Also, I've heard that the regular straight razor is the best way to get a really close shave (which is why the professionals use them) but I've always been afraid to try them. I just use a 3 bladed razor. I'd avoid using razors with less than 3 blades on your face.

When shaving, shave in short strokes, pressing lightly and cleaning the blades often. The key is to press very lightly, almost as though you aren't at all- this is especially important for the chin, jawline, and adam's apple. Go with the grain to avoid razor burn or cutting yourself. If you want to get a very close shave, shave again afterward going against the grain (but be very careful, especially on sensitive areas like the neck to avoid razor burn- I usually just stay above the jawline when I shave against the grain)

When your done shaving, wash the excess shaving cream off with water that is slightly cooler than lukewarm. Don't use aftershave or anything containing menthol. Alcohol and menthol irritate your skin. I recommend aftershave lotion; the lotion will make your skin look healthy and will keep it from post-shave dryness.

Obviously, this takes a lot longer than running over your face with an electric razor, but it gives good results for when quality is important but you don't want to go to a barbershop.
There are two kinds of people in this world: people who say there are two kinds of people in the world and people who know the first group of people are full of shit.
