I'm really not sure how to conduct this thread. There's nothing on TL about taking headphones seriously AFAIK so I guess a poll would give us an idea of what we're dealing with here.
Personally I opted to go with the Beyerdynamic DT990

coupled with the Audio-GD FUN version "A" with upgraded Earth OPA.

This is a relatively cheap system and IMO, offers phenomenal detail. Lows and highs are a bit pronounced so this is isn't a natural sound but it is quite lively and suited to electronic music. Not my favorite genre or anything but I do listen to quite a bit of it so I like something like this in my system.
I'd love for everyone to do the same and share their experience with heaphones in this thread. It's just missing from TL so badly. |

| I have the AKG K240 Mkii's, unamped. They're kinda quiet tho even at full volume on my ipod (relatively speaking), so I might get an amp for them sometime. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the quality |

Been using Technics RP-DJ1200 for about 7 years. 160u$s at the time. Best durability of any headphone I've ever seen. Sound quality is also amazing specially the bass.

after a little modding, I really like the sound I'm getting out of these cans :> |

Classy, definitely wanna try the monitor version with 600ohm impedence or the old "sextetts". Love the vintage look of the AKGs. |

| I have a pair of Ultrasone HFI-780s and DT770/80s. I'm hoping that my next upgrade will be my last (thinking something along the lines of MDR-SA5000 or ATH-AD2000) |

![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/XqE4V.jpg) Corsair HS1, I won these i used to use logitech G35's which i payed 70 USD for i like both but corsairs is a bit better for my large head. They use the same tech and similar quality parts to convert a 7.1 signal to a stereo output so they sound very similar. I like USB audio, i rather not have to spend 100-300 just on a sound card for my headset to sound good.Last edit: 2010-11-13 09:33:18 |

I've got Sennheiser HD555's, Ultrasone HFI-550's, Sennheiser RS130's (which don't get used), and a nice little pair of Westone 1 in-ears I don't have the cash to take it any further really, though i'd love to listen to some albums on my HD555's through an amp |
