I saw that there were old versions of the Abyssus and DeathAdder with no 3.5G sensor. What's the difference between the old ones and the new ones?

Also what mousemat is better to use with an Abyssus, goliathus speed or control?
Did the gas knock everyone out? Nope, just Jensen.

Steelseries cords are pretty high quality, I suppose you can hang yourself with the mouse.

Is it the Kinzu or Kinzu V2? I heard the V2 was supposed to fix everything that was wrong with the first one.

Old Deathadders do "only" have 1800 CPI. Also their lift oft distance (LOD) is lower. See here for an overview over existing Deathadder versions.

I have a question about Razer mice in general and their lifespan. I looked up reviews for the deathadder and abyssus and saw that most people were complaning about the mice only lasting up to 6 months.

Absolutely, I switched from a G9x to it because I wanted a mouse that had a better, more rounded shape than my G9x but was still super lightweight (It's 8 grams lighter than the G9X). The G1 is one of the most pleasant mice I've ever used, it's super duper light weight and really comfy compared to the G9x (I used it without the grips so it had the sharper corners that I hated). I'd take the G1 over any other mouse at this point. Just remember you are stuck on 1000 CPI with it. That wasn't a big deal for me as I used 1200 prior to using it so adjusting to 1000 wasn't a big deal.

The right button on my Death Adder died after just over a year, though it seems to vary quite a bit from what I've seen. Some people have Razer mice that last forever and others they break after a few months. It doesn't seem consistent.

my salmosa just died the other day after years of functioning perfectly, had it for 5-6 years now working fine, but the diamondback i had before it broke fairly quickly QQ that mouse wasn't as comfortable anyway though as i prefer the smaller more stable feel of the salmosa

now though i need to find a new mouse and have started looking into the steelseries kana/kinzu or the abyssus and just don't know what to choose...i generally use a claw/fingertip type grip (basically fingertip for a few hours til my wrist starts annoying me then claw :/) and prefer smaller mice though the kana seems as though it would be around the right size and the white one is just beautiful to look at any suggestions anyone?

i made the decision to get a zowie mico for my fingertip grip, way too many bad comments about the abyssus breaking after 6-12 months of use

I have been looking into mice, and can't decide between the Kinzu, Abyssus, Deathadder, Tt esports Azurues, or the Logitech g400. Can someone tell me which is the best out of all of these?

There is no one single "best" option. It depends entirely on personal preferences. That being said, most people have generally positive things to say about the Abyssus and Deathadder and neither have any drift control or built in acceleration. Though I have heard some complaints about build quality. There are comments listed in the OP under the second section which may be helpful.

I'm using a logitech g9x right now it's really good but it sometimes bugs out and it has some accelration
im using 1600 dpi and i know the g1 can only go to 1000 but i could just adjust the starcraft 2 mouse speed options
What does everyone think thx

Upping the sensetivity in SC2 will actually reduce the accuracy of the mouse. Because it's artificially multiplying the input, it causes the mouse to skip pixles, some settings will actually cause it to create columns of pixles which the mouse cursor can't land on. Think about multiplying a whole number by two, you will never get an odd number. Same principle. IMO it makes no sense to spend the money on a high end mouse then reduce the accuracy by upping in game sensitivity.

Hi, I'm looking for a new mouse and would love some recommendations
1. What's your grip style?
Claw
2. What's your sensitivity?
medium
3. What's your maximum budget?
50-60$
4. Do you want additional buttons?
Doesn't matter
5. What games do you play?
SC2
6. Do you mind angle snapping?
Not sure

7. Other relevant information:
Been using my Microsoft intellimouse 1.1 for a while and I really dont like it. My hands are pretty big and i've been using the Steelseries Ikari, Razer Deathadder and Razer Copperhead before. They all broke after a while and now im looking or a new one. I'd love one with a fast click that keeps working for quite some time.

For a cheaper claw grip mouse, Roccat Pyra or Tt Azures might fit what you are looking for. Wo1fwood's got a great review of the Pyra here. You should also check out wo1fwood's mouse size guide in the OP to get a sense of what style you might like.

I was in pc world with my friend today while he was looking for laptops. I noticed a gaming mouse section and I was happy to find that they allowed you to try out all the mice. I really liked the razor death adder and the steelseries sensei. I did prefer the sensei overall but the price was a bit off putting. It was around £70 while the naga was £50. After looking online I noticed that the kana seemed to be a cheaper alternative with the same look and feel.

I was just wondering if anyone has used both the sensei and kana and could inform me of any massive differences. Is the size difference that big?

Older versions of the Kana had a pretty serious pixel skip bug, which SSs has released a firmware update for, though there are still a few people who have claimed to still be having issues after installing the firmware fix, though most have said it's fixed now. There are some other complaines about the Kana though. I know TT1 had some major complaints about the side button, also apparently has cheap plastic feet intead of non-stick ones.

I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly's a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Yeah, word to the wise, UPE != Teflon (PTFE). Steelseries has fixed that issue on their site, but they did at one point list their feet as UPE Teflon, which is just silly as polyethylene is plastic.

Kana had potential to be amazing (a modern WMO) but it sadly fell short. Bad feet, bad switches, not the best sensor at high dpi. Some don't like the side buttons. Oh well

Why make two different posts about the same thing... $41 is just regular pricing. Newegg is just selling at regular pricing to get rid of stock... -_-

Hi,
I bought a CM inferno mouse about 2 weeks ago for sc2 and was really disappointed with it,
Its fine until I increased the sensitivity, then when I click the curser moves so much that double clicking to select unit group is impossible.
Is this the mouse in general? or could this just be a defect in the mouse i bought?

Anyway im going to buy a new mouse, is the razer death adder the go for high sensitivity SC2?

Thanks guys!
Chris

It sounds to me like the problem is you've go your sensitivity too high. You should have SC2 sensitivity set between 51% and 54%, and the DPI setting on the mouse should realistically be no higher than 2500.
