Logitech M100 HD is really cheap and good. Apparently, it's similar to the old MX300 and Mini Optical but with 1000 DPI. The cord is also thinner like in gaming mice. I was able to easily find many for $10.
Former Logitech mini optical users should definitely check it out.![[image loading]](http://i.testfreaks.com/images/products/600x400/119/logitech-m100.16830327.jpg)

| My friend bought me the Razer Abyssus and I have been using it for a week now instead of my G1. Overall I am pretty impressed. The shape is very well designed, the mouse is nice and light, the buttons click very fast, and the sensor is good. Compared to this the G1 seemed a lot slower and stiffer. The Abyssus was just lightning fast. |

i would actually pay good money for a logitech g1 or g3 but logitech keeps on throwing cheap plastic shit at me that even my girlfriend would not use. The feel and the switches of those mice are terrible and the g9x is far too heavy to use either.
So the only option right now is razer abyssus or kinzu for me!

i want a light /small / flat mouse because my wrist and tendons are fucked up from years of intelli 3.0 and bending my wrist upwards to grip it. So basically everything bigger (higher) than a razer deathadder is a no go for me.
G700? Really? id rather imagine playing starcraft 2 with a brick. everything heavier than 100g just wont work! |

I got abyssus and it's very light and small and precise. Actually it improved my precision in sc2 by a lot (I was using logitech laser mouse before). Build quality isn't very good, but I still recommend this. |

well the imperator for example is not as high/big as the deathadder/mx518 (almost too small for me) but has the ergonomic shape. also only weighs ~65g.
there are others out there, just gotta look for em ~

lol heavy some people aren't anemic and can play with "heavy" =p hell i move a G9x with my fingers only while my hand rests on a wrist rest and i do just fine but i have little choice g9 is one of the few mice wide enough to be conformable long term as a mouse.Last edit: 2011-01-15 05:55:25 |

| I know this is about mice and not pads, but I conducted a little experiment today and bought the most basic printless cloth-kinda pad for <$2 after conversion to US currency. Tell you what, it isn't exactly the leetest thing ever, but it's darn good (there is a whole world of difference between it and your typical printed pad of some assorted texture, probably much more than between it and a brand gaming pad... come to think of it, this is a "pro" pad). Mouse is an A4Tech with two layers of replacement sliders stuck actually on top of the existing ones. Say best bang for the buck. Last edit: 2011-01-15 06:52:08 |

| I wonder what logitech is going to make to replace the G9x this year. I'm planning on upgrading up from my MX518. |

I'm looking to replace/upgrade my mouse and I'm looking for some personal impressions and possibly comparisons. I read the whole thread and have been browsing mice on Amazon, Ebay and elsewhere for the last couple of hours without much success.
I'm currently using a Razer Salmosa and it's probably the best gaming mouse I've ever had. Design, weigth, speed, precision - it's just perfect. However, I'm increasingly missing the two side buttons most other mice have for browsing and other games, and I've recently broken a part of the left mouse button. I could fix it, but I'm not sure it'll hold and thus I'd like to plan for a replacement in advance.
The closest in design and function would probably be the Razer Deathadder, but I'm not sure if I like the blue design elements, and the price is a con. I can already exclude any mice >50€, the Logitech 518 (don't like the design) and the Roccat Kova (too many bad reviews).
What I'm looking for is a mouse about the same size and weigth as the Salmosa, but with two side buttons included. Limit is ~40€. Especially high quality, no-name mice would be interesting, as the number of Logitech/Razer/Roccat/etc. mice is limited and their prices tend to be very high.
Thanks in advance, help is appreciated!

I dont remember the exact numbers but the g9x (168g) is one of the heavier mice out there. its twice as heavy as the Abyssus (70g) and adding the friction of the mousepad thats just one heavy brick ur tossing around for hours and hours straight! I dont use a Fingertip grip like u and i also cant stand the feeling of my finger reaching down to my mouse due to the wristrest. |

I actually find it somewhat easier since I can use my right hand to scroll with the arrow keys and use the pad at the same time |
