You can turn off the acceleration. I understand what the website says, but I've tested the kinzu plenty of times. There is no acceleration, as long as you turn it off in the kinzu mouse setup program.

Yes, the feet are cheap plastic. You can replace them. I actually like the cheap mouse feet, as opposed to teflon. I guess that means it's good if you play on low sensitivities.

I like the kinzu that I have. Love the mouse. It was super cheap at something like $20. It's a great first mouse to get, and if you don't have a mechanical keyboard yet, I'd recommend get that first (a mouse is just what is comfortable basically, ie it isn't goofy, while a mechanical keyboard is soooo much nicer than anything else - not to mention hardware like cpu, gpu, being more important than what mouse you have).

The mouse isn't bad at all. People keep saying 'acceleration' because the mouse has hardware acceleration that is only utilized if you turn it on in the software, but anyone who has one will tell you there is no acceleration on it. The plastic feet are odd, so if you are currently using a high end mouse, you might not like going from a $100 mouse with teflon feet to a $20 mouse with plastic feet. It's a great mouse, but it IS a $20 mouse after all. You can get teflon pads if it's really an issue.

For $20, it's an awesome mouse. Maybe the best mouse to buy at $20. The only issue is that it's small (for some people, they may like that - I like it.). and the plastic feet (hey, it's $20, if you are just using any old mouse, it's much nicer than it).

i got kinzu and it has accel -_- and it cannot turn off by software becuase it come with hardware , it hardware issue nothing to do with software.

i was gonna say why people dislike kinzu because i quite like mine! i agree what Belial88 said, in the end of day, is 20buck you are talking about , kinzu is probably the best mouse at that price range. just get a teflon pad and you are all sorted. i remember i made some adjustment by googling some forumer's method and have been a happy kinzu mouse user since about 2 years ago (I do not update the driver since then), it is so much better than those logitech/microsoft mouse below 50 price range.

i happy with my Ktec KTM9500+ more than kinzu and it's only 15 buck lol.

Just wanted to say that thanks to this thread I'm now a proud and happy owner of a CM Storm Spawn!

Turns out that I'm mostly a claw-grip mouse user and the CM Storm Spawn actually is pretty close to the way I was holding my MS Intellimouse for so many years. The mouse is marginally wider than the intellimouse (and of course shorter) which is perfect for my hands. The ring finger rest on the right side is a bit strange at first but actually feels natural in my hand. The side grips and overall surface finish of the mouse is quite comfortable.

Plus you can't beat the price-to-performance imo

A process cannot be understood by stopping it. Understanding must move with the flow of the process, must join it and flow with it.

I just bought one, so I'll do a thorough review when I get it. I do know already though, because Korea is awesome, that it uses the ADNS-3080 sensor, which means it should perform pretty much exactly like my mini.

Yeah, spawn is pretty nice. Not the shape for me though, I'm not a fan of ergonomic style mice. But 3500 max DPI/CPI, 1ms report rate, 7 buttons, and both acceleration and angle snapping can be toggled on and off. Yeah, that's pretty cool.

Can you setup custom DPI/CPI profiles with the software though? I think by default the "on the fly" DPI switching button on the top has 800 as it's lowest setting. Which might be a bit high for hardcore CS players, so it would sort of suck if you can't change that.

Okay, I've got a question. I am currently using the MX 600 Cordless Laser mouse from Logitech. It isn't a gaming mouse, and there is no way for me to change the DPI. I am way too cheap to buy a new mouse. Recently, I was told that the optimal settings for SC2 was 51% cursor speed on the ingame controls, and then to play around with the mouse's DPI settings until you were comfortable. However, since my mouse has no DPI settings, I am in a quandary. Before I played with the cursor speed at 90%, so my mouse now feels leaden and obtuse on 51%.

So, should I go back to the way I was before, with the cursor speed at 90% and sacrifice accuracy? Or should I force myself to play at 51% and try to get used to moving my mouse further to get to where I'm used to? Buying a new mouse isn't really an option for me. Thanks.

The MX 600 has a max CPI of 800. Using higher sensitivities (windows or in game) isn't exactly optimal, but if that is what you feel is most comfortable then you probably should think about getting a mouse that has around 1600CPI, if we're speaking optimally. You don't have to buy a new mouse, just know that if this is your optimal setting that you are going to sacrifice some precision for the speed that you want. But by all means though, take some time to try out these new settings, you might find them to your liking.

Okay, thanks. If I was to buy a new mouse, what's the cheapest one with 1600 CPI? (funds are kinda tight right now) Also, both my mouse and my keyboard are connected wirelessly to my PC through the same piece of hardware, and I don't want to get a new keyboard, so if you plug in two mice into a computer do they both work? Is there a way to select one to work? Because I definitely can't get a new keyboard and mouse.

Ofc i don't see any reason why they wouldn't work... I've currently 2 mouses working : g500 and g300 side to side. g300 for gaming and g500 for browsing.

As for mouse recommandation, we can't help you there. You have to choose yourself. Pretty much every gaming mouse has 1600 DPI at least. Just that some of them can't be adjusted as much as the others.

If you like logitech, then try going for a g300 since it's cheap and doesn't take more than 2-3 weeks to get used to it after a mx600's shape. Plus it has a lot of dpi setting, so yeah that's your best choice.

For 10 more dollars, you could get a g400 for about the same shape. Not sure if it has a lot of dpi settings though.

And then g500 which is the same for g400 excpet it's more customizable. Be careful though since they're really fragile, much like the deathadders.

I'm really fond of g9-g9x.
shape supports my hand really well, and did solve most of my pain problems.
cloth covered wire is something I preffer also.
its high quality on precesion and responsiveness.
also for non-starcraft stuff the way wheel works is god send.

g9 series had an issue with their mouse 1 button. something like it will lose been kept clicked... I havent experienced that in g9x yet.

wheel button is way more harder than any other mouse I used btw, you may want to try it before buying if you can.

I just bought one, so I'll do a thorough review when I get it. I do know already though, because Korea is awesome, that it uses the ADNS-3080 sensor, which means it should perform pretty much exactly like my mini.

you can download driver here http://www.iktec.co.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=pds
you need to change language to korean to open the program =)

You can turn off the acceleration. I understand what the website says, but I've tested the kinzu plenty of times. There is no acceleration, as long as you turn it off in the kinzu mouse setup program.

Yes, the feet are cheap plastic. You can replace them. I actually like the cheap mouse feet, as opposed to teflon. I guess that means it's good if you play on low sensitivities.

I like the kinzu that I have. Love the mouse. It was super cheap at something like $20. It's a great first mouse to get, and if you don't have a mechanical keyboard yet, I'd recommend get that first (a mouse is just what is comfortable basically, ie it isn't goofy, while a mechanical keyboard is soooo much nicer than anything else - not to mention hardware like cpu, gpu, being more important than what mouse you have).

eBay? That's where I just got mine. Or you could use Gmarket, but that will be slightly more expensive I think.

This might be slightly off topic, but I want to give someone a modified deathadder as a birthday present. I have done LED mods before, but I want something a little more special.

How do I go about choosing an appropriate paint to cover the top/bottom of the mouse with? I want to keep the matte finish of the deathadder.

Any help here would be amazing <3

Okay, thanks for the recommendations. ^^

I need to choose between the G300, the G400, and the Razer Deathadder.

The G300 is the cheapest, but it looks a bit unwieldy, especially all those buttons on the left and right keys. The G400 costs more but seems okay. I don't think I'd ever be able to hit the button past the scroll wheel though lol. I've heard both good and bad things about the Deathadder, and I want to support Razer because they are so great for eSports. Please advise.

Anyway, I use a fingertip grip, and prefer higher senstivity. Also, I'm not sure what it's called, but on my current mouse (MX600) you can flick the scroll wheel to either side, and I've rebound that to be screen hotkeys and I've gotten really used to them. So do any/all of these three choices have this same function?

I gave a logitech g9x laser mouse. I must say it is rather good i think... But it is really small, so if you don't like mouses like that don't buy this mouse. It says that its customisable but I really don't think so... There is like one handle for it that is way superior...
But you can adjust the weight to it... Anyways I like it I give it a 4.5 stars out of 5
