I have a Razer Abyssus, used it for maybe 2 months until it has double click issue ( a single click 1 registered as 2, really annoying ). But Abyssus is a really good mouse and I like it. One of my friend uses a red steelseries kinzu v2 pro for a quiet long time and there's still no problem with his mouse.
Just sharing my experience |

| Is the sensor/tracker on the Abyssus that much better than the Kinzu v2 Pro sensor/tracker? Because I really like the size and shape of the Kinzu v2 Pro, plus it has on board memory which the Abyssus lacks. |

Honestly, unless you're really hardcore, you won't really tell the difference between the sensors of those 2 mice. For the price they are both good mice. If you really like the Kinzu v2 Pro then go for it. It is a good mouse. The Abyssus is really good too for the price. Either way you can just get used to the mouse you get. For the price I'm sure their sensors are relatively the same. |

| I have a razer abyssus and goliathus control that I use at home and started bringing with me to my internship, as I couldn't stand to use the trackpad on the laptop that I have to do all my work on. When I use the mouse at home, where I have the drivers installed, the mouse works perfectly and I've never had any problems with it. However, when i bring it work where i cant install the drivers on a work laptop, the mouse jitters and moving the mouse slowly straight upward or down and to the left is almost impossible as the mouse cursor hardly budges. I've tried making sure the track pad is disabled as well as not having anything touching the track pad and testing every dpi/polling rate combination and the problem still happens. Any idea how to fix this? |

You'd have to use Windows sensitivity and lower from 1800 dpi, though this is not recommended as it means you're no longer getting 1:1 response. There are also some issues with the Salmosa -- it has prediction which is not ideal (though not a big problem for everyone), and it has a fairly low malfunction speed, so if you use a relatively low sensitivity in an FPS game you're going to have a bad time.
(FWIW I have a Salmosa NaDa edition)Last edit: 2012-06-19 23:16:51 |

| thanks. i really like the size/shape but i guess ill have to pass. only having 800/1800 dpi seems silly. |

I own both of those mice. They are both pretty similar in that they are small and lightweight mice. The main difference lies in the shape. The Abyssus is lower and larger while the kinzu v2 pro is higher and narrower. (I personally prefer the shape of the Abyssus)
The Abyssus' sensor is supposedly better but I must say I can't see the difference! Make sure to flash the kinzu's firmware though.
They are both equipped with OMRON switches for good quality buttons.
Their biggest flaw is that they both have glossy plastic. The Abyssus has it on the sides while the kinzu has it on the top. It's not a problem for me because I removed it with sandpaper but I suppose not everyone is willing to void their warranty for that
I'm not sure what else to say. In your position I'd pick according to the shape. Feel free to ask any question. |

I have a question for anybody that has a kinzu v2 pro. I wonder if there could be something wrong with my v2 pro. The reaction time from the mouse is much slower when I box units compared to my other mice (g9x, imperator) so, basicly, I move my mouse while boxing, but with the v2 pro it only starts to creat the box a centimeter or two later compared to my other mice.
Can anybody confirm if this is normal for the mouse, or just my model? Thanks! |

| So I decided to give my old Deathadder another go just to see if I still dislike it as much as I used to. Is it just me or are the new drivers complete garbage? Not only do you have to create an online profile, but it also takes a couple minutes after starting your PC for your settings to apply again. For the first 5 minutes or so that I was running my PC my Deathadder was running at 3500 DPI when I have it set to 1100 (It didn't change settings until I opened the synapse program). This just seems like it is overcomplicating mouse drivers way too much. Luckily I found the old drivers so hopefully they will work better. |

Huh yes actually, can't believe I didn't notice it before (haven't used it much tbh).
Just tested it vs the Abyssus. When I box slowly it's all good. But when I do it quickly it does feel like the rectangle appears a bit too late compared to the Abyssus. Dang. I wonder if that's because the kinzu's buttons require more force to push down. Last edit: 2012-06-22 06:02:13 |

Thanks for actually trying it out for me. Guess the v2 pro wont be my mouse for sc2 TT |

I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed in my search to find a good small fingertip gaming mouse. It appears that there is not a quality option unless you want to spend ~$70 for a g9x.
Razer Abyssus - Good sensor and great price ($31) , but it's shape is inferior to other small ambidextrous mice with its sharp pointy edges. Not to mention an LED light that CAN NOT be turned off even when your pc is off the light stays on.
Kinzu v2 Pro - Great Shape, but a sensor that is apparently not on par with other mice. Yet still costs ~$45.
I would prefer a small ambidextrous gaming mouse with no problems.

You mean like the Deathadder, which has one of the best sensors on the planet? |

I've never heard the Deathadder mentioned in the small mouse category. |
